  1. I think the force he swung at it in the penalty area at head height was definitely excessive.
  2. I think he is talented, and has already scored a few useful goals despite very limited minutes. Gets himself in the right places and can pick a pass. But you can't get away with being that lightweight, especially if you're not particularly quick. Realistically he doesn't have a future in the team unless he can become physically much much stronger. Hes so wiry I do wonder whether he can bulk up.
  3. I think Mowbray tried to correct that by committing to 433 at the start of the season but after a good first half dozen games or so it's really struggled as we arent really good enough to dominate decent teams in the way the system needs. So now I think weve gone back to being a bit reactive and muddling through game by game like last season. What we really should have done at the start of the season is had a couple of different tactical setups we were happy with so we have a ready made plan b. Anyway Mowbray has pulled out a win when he needs to. He's so good at that... Just wish he could do it to get us into the top six, not just take the pressure off his job.
  4. I agree every player in the Championship need to be physically competitive and he doesn't have it. Either he bulks up like Breo did last season or he's going to need to look down the leagues for his career.
  5. With Gallagher and Breo on it gives him a lot of room to do what he wants to do.
  6. I'd say it's Brereton and Gallagher are winning everything.
  7. Mowbray got stick for the 3 subs but we've been so much better since they came on. Feel bad for Buckley but I don't think he should have come on. The opposite of his sort of game. The balls spent more time in the air than on the grass.
  8. Can't see how Dack fits into this game....
  9. Travis for me is part of the problem. He just isn't covering the grass. Doesn't look fit enough. Whole midfield being bypassed.
  10. Hard to argue with that. It's kind of harsh for him, hes got freakishly long legs and had his eye on the ball, but it was incredibly dangerous to be swinging his boot that high. Apart from that I've been quite impressed with Branthwaite. Really physically dominant, gets his head on everything, long legs for tackling, and has a bit of pace. Him and Lenihan at the back will be a very good combo. Probably the only two players on the pitch, plus the GK, who have had okay games.
  11. Yeah I really don't get this either, Rothwell is much better running from deep. I would get Brereton on so there is someone for the ball to stick to. Id take Buckley back off to be honest and drop Rothwell into midfield.
  12. This is an unbelievably bad game. Actually feel sorry for the commentators. I do wonder the sense in 433 when we can't even get our foot on the ball. Game feels like it needs Holtby but I don't think he's on the bench?
  13. How do you activate the ignore function? With the change over not sure how to do it?
  14. Douglas did look fitter recently. Problem with late signings is you can find yourself halfway through the season and they're just getting up to speed.
  15. First 8 games or so we looked really good. Wheels came off when the games came thick and fast in run up to Christmas. We couldn't sustain a high intensity 433 and the injury list just kept growing. Looking back I would say our big problems were 1) not getting more defenders and signing a decent left back 2) not having a defensive tactical alternative to 433 - say a 343 - we could wheel out against teams who were better than us (Norwich, Watford, Reading) or could nullify us with their own 343 (Bristol City, Stoke). It's a real shame to be sat here only half way through the season with a really decent squad with virtually no prospect of top six. Better defensive planning would have avoided this situation.
  16. I'm really not a fan of Douglas but thought he had an okay game today. The new young lad from Everton was really solid at LCB so maybe that helped Douglas lot. For me we significantly improved when Davenport and Holtby came on. They changed the game really as they could cover more grass and pass the ball better than Travis and Johnson. Brereton also meant the ball had somewhere to stick. Johnson was so slow, Travis didn't look fit enough and when he got booked completely dropped out of the game. Dack similarly seemed to struggle. The whole diminutive front three got nothing out of Stoke. My team for Swansea is really just persisting with those better performers : Kaminski Nyambe. Lenihan. Branthwaite. Douglas Holtby. Davenport. Rothwell Elliott. Armstrong. Brereton Use Travis and Dack from the bench.
  17. One thing Mowbray is exceptional at is getting a result when we're desperate.
  18. Totally appalling performance and pitch... We look terrible. For what it's worth I would get Brereton on as at least the ball sticks to him. Also Id get Johnson off for Holtby so we actually can pass the ball a bit. But we look totally physically outfought.
  19. I reckon it will be Kaminski Nyambe. Lenihan. Branthwaite. Douglas Travis. Johnson. Rothwell. Elliot . Dack. Armstrong Pretty sure it will be... But we will see.
  20. Terrible keeping from Pears. Also Johnson showed his lack of experience in the role standing off. Terrible state of the pitch very frustrating. Where's Holtby?
  21. Can't get an account. Website seems buggered...
  22. Reckon something like that, but can't see Armstrong playing. Also don't think TM will change from 433 though so more like : Kaminski Pike Lenihan. Carter Bell Travis Buckley Davenport Dolan Dack Brereton
