  1. Interesting point - Bennett when he came on did not take the armband. Stayed with Lenihan. That's a pretty big change.
  2. I really really really don't know why Mowbray doesn't swap Gally and Armstrong. Edit - and now Nyambes off for Bennett. Argh!
  3. Last game where Preston went direct we got totally mullered. Different back line today though so hopefully can handle it.
  4. Like most of our games we look the better side across the team. Nyambe, Lenihan, Armstrong have all been very good. Only real issue is Gallagher on the right being so utterly pointless. Graham on for Gally, bring him central, play Holtby or Armstrong right.
  5. He's pretty good on the wing for me. Regularly creates and scores. Can virtually always beat his man. Much rather have him there than Gallagher.
  6. Have to agree. I see the idea with Gallagher on the wing. Have a guaranteed out ball, push the other side back line deep, someone who comes in central for crosses from the left and scores at the back post. But we've done it for six months and it absolutelu, resolutely hasn't worked. Why do we persist?
  7. That is very David Brent! Basic premise is okay of what he is saying. Would have no issue with any manager saying it. It's more that he says stuff like this then we don't actually sign "players with character". I mean out of everyone weve brought in who actually looks like a leader? Only Johnson and Smallwood I think?
  8. I have to say signing a winger when we've got a number of players who have performed not brilliant, but okay, in that role while neglecting GK, Full Back and Striker would be mental. But unfortunately not very surprising with our management team. We've been creating plenty of chances. We just can't finish them and concede for fun.
  9. Had a think about this one... We've got 20 games to go. We probably need to score an average of 2 goals per game to be in with a fighting chance as our defence is so shite. So 40 goals. Looking at things very generously - I reckon we will get about 7 more from Armstrong. Maybe 5 from various defenders chipping in. Maybe 9 from various midfielders. That gets us to 21. Graham I think maybe 5 more. Gallagher maybe 3. A big zero from Brereton. Gets us to 29. We're around 11 goals short. Looking around the squad there just isn't the capability there to make it up. We have to sign someone who can bring those goals. If we can't Gallagher, or someone totally left field like Holtby, is going to need to turn into a goal machine.
  10. Its a transfer that just gets worse and worse the more you think about it... How on earth did it actually happen? Does anyone know?
  11. Team I'd go with more or less. Defensive shambles but hopefully we can offer something going forward.
  12. If we can sell a player anywhere in the squad it's CM. I'd let Evans go - put faith in Travis, Johnson, Holtby, Davenport, Bennett, Downing - and invest the money where it is needed desperately - striker, full back and keeper.
  13. He's already scored 7 and we're only half way through the season. Armstrong is massively under valued by folks on here in my estimation. Outside of Dack he is the only player in the squad who will create chances for himself and others every game. For some reason he gets way more stick than the likes of Gallagher or Rothwell who offer virtually zero attacking threat. He's got areas he can improve but it's imperative we keep on with him.
  14. Our striking options are terrible at the moment. Much worse than Emnes, Jao etc. Only area we are definitely better now than 2017 is central midfield and attacking mid.
  15. What's up with him? We really need him back to cover for Dack. Also I have vague hopes he might score a few.
  16. How can the vital positions not include a striker? We really really need one.
  17. Decent strikers are really a rare breed. Since we've gone down the only decent all round striker we've had has been Graham. Rhodes was a phenomenal poacher, Gestede amazing in the air, King a speed merchant and under used. But a striker who can score goals, knit the play together and defend from the front are like gold dust. A single decent striker can make such a huge difference. We really really need to find one.
  18. I guess what I'm saying is out number 10s are better than our strikers, so I would invest in strikers.
  19. I'd honestly say many managers would be be better at this point. He looks out of ideas and motivation.
  20. I'd rather sign a quality striker and get Holtby to provide than sign (yet another) number 10 and strive on with Gallagher/Brereton.
  21. I sympathise with what your saying but I think we've got to the point where Mowbray can't take us any further forward. What's the point of sticking? We need to roll the dice.
  22. My diagnosis for what it's worth is that we definitely do not need to sign a Dack replacement in terms of an attacking mid. We've got Holtby and Rothwell. Make do with them. What we do need desperately is a striker who scores regularly, and two full backs and a keeper.
  23. I thought Armstrong was pretty good, always looked dangerous. Midfield passed it pretty well generally. Gallagher, Brereton however were both total wastes of space. Brereton absolutely and utterly shocking. Gallagher useful as a battering ram but offered no attacking threat. Bell was decent going forward but weak defensively (quel surprise...). Bennett generally poor. Keeper had a shocker with their second. I do hope this hastens To Mo Go.
