  1. Thanks for the info BB, hope it won't be next March when you next post on the board.......I'll give you a shout next February
  2. Thanks for the reply Bacup, so you didn't get to the Apollo gig then, shame as it was superb, all of Black and White album and loads more. I'm sure they're getting better the older they get!! Ears were banging for days!!
  3. Come on Bacup Blue......its that time of year again.......got my ticket for Manchester.....have you or are you watching the far inferior SLF instead?
  4. Anybody who uses google maps, type in gobshites and see where it takes you! Apologies if this has been posted before.
  5. Guess who scored for Boro, last minute! The board will be interesting!
  6. Just called in at the Royal Oak in Riley Green on the way back from the Waterloo at Blackpool. Had the cheese and onion Pie, my pals and the fish and chips, both very good. 3 pints of Wainwrights for me, and my pals were on Bomber - good beer. Never been in before but would recommend it to anyone. Wish that was my local!!
  7. Well done lads. Fantastic all round performance. Looks good for the future. I hope this now puts the KP discussion to bed.
  8. What a great day for us. Agree that Bairstow has been very lucky, very poor feet.
  9. Stranglers last night for me and my son's. Great night as always.
  10. Living in Bolton and taking the @#/? they regularly give me, I can only think of one response .......
  11. Had another great meal at the Red Lion in Hawkshaw the other day. Black pudding with bacon, cheese and mustard for starter was superb. Lamb Shank with mash, gravy and veg for main. The lamb was excellent, so tender and fell off the bone...wow. there was over 20 of us, there were several bottles of wine, loads of pints and it came to £26 each including a hefty tip.
  12. Just got back from the Red Lion in Hawkshaw. I had the Black pudding with bacon, cheese and English mustard to start which was very nice. Then had the fish, chips and mush peas which was good. Some of the others had the plate pie which looked fantastic and they said it was very good. Others had pan fried chicken, steak and no complaints. My meal cost around £16, (although I wasn't paying). Portions were probably just right and I'd say fair value......although I wish I'd had the pie!!! All 8 of us enjoyed the meals, nobody left hungry (and there were some big lads eating). Beer was very good, JW Lees. The venue is nice, very clean, well decorated, large car park to rear. Service was excellent.
