  1. Promotion at Gigg Lane Worthington Cup Final Derby home and away play off (class as one game) Rovers 4 Man Utd 3 (Rio is a Rover) Bolton 1 Rovers 4 (every time we beat them) (so many more but keep it to 5). Worst Crystal Palace away Play off (Ian Miller miss) Rovers 0 Bolton 1 (1979 Bolton promoted) Port Vale 2 (or 3) Rovers 0 Night match in our promotion year under Kenny, drove up from West Bromwich, shocking performance! Bolton 3 Rovers 1 (1999-2000 I think) sat in with Bolton fans with my 4 year old son, Blake scored, I celebrated, nearly filled in, stewards to the rescue!! Rovers 0 Trelleborg 1 - drove like a madman from Reading where I'd been working, averaged around 85mph!! Got to ground as they kicked off.
  2. First half was poor, looked like we were suffering from the midweek game, but could and should have seen us 2-0 up. Better second half but playing against a dour Lambert type team will always be difficult, thank god he left! Thought they'd give MOM to Armstrong as it was he, with two magic moments, changed the game. Rodwell looked good, as did Rothwell when he came on. Nuttall looks a different player so I think a spell in U23's might do the same for Brereton. Well done TM, good subs again and ground a result out against an awkward / poor team.
  3. Although on paper we'd all agree that we should win, but, looking at the stats my gut says Ipswich are due a win!! We cannot play that back three again …..ever! Hope Danny, Reedy and Charlie are fit as they must start. Thermals going on today as it's gonna be chilly. Come on Rovers, give us a win
  4. Great result if not easy on the eye, but that's football for you. We were aggressive and out Millwalled them. Armstrong was up for it when he came on, Travis, Lenihan and Rodwell were excellent. Well done TM, probably won't get the credit he deserves but got his tactics and subs bang on today. Think I'd start Smallwood and Evans midweek, give Reed and Travis a rest, we're only 6 points off play offs, save 'em for next Saturday.
  5. Good result and a decent performance for most of the game. Full backs were a constant worry, Bennett was particularly bad. Travis correctly named MOM and Reed couldn't have been far behind. Last 10-15 mins were a tad nervy and it seemed just a matter of when they equalised. Well done Rovers, great feeling is that winning!!!
  6. First twenty mins we were best team and should have been 2 up. Since then not much to report. Bell and Bennett give me the willies at full back. Armstrong frustrating. Travis very good, don't loan him out!!
  7. No idea what to expect now!! Come on Rovers, let's put on a decent show.
  8. That was a poor night!! Didn't Shearer (Duncan) head one over the bar right in front of us when it looked easier to score? (my memory isn't what it was).
  9. Agree with Travis, I've liked the look of him on the odd occasion he gets a chance. Our left back situation is awful, I've previously advocated Conway having a go as surely he couldn't be any worse and could prolong his career if he was any good. For what it's worth, my team - Raya Travis Lenihan Mulgrew Conway Reed Evans Rodwell Rothwell Dack Graham
  10. No way, two goals in two minutes. We cannot defend. Must stop the crosses coming in!!!
  11. Not enough pace, energy or ability in this line up. Like Rodwell coming in for Smallwood but what does Rothy have to do? Armstrong, Nyambe , Bell, Williams, Lenihan shouldn't be played in the same team, too many league 1 ability players for one team. I'm not usually the negative sort, but after the weaknesses of our team that were exposed by Norwich, I fear Leeds will tear us a new one!! Anyway, come on Rovers, give us a win!!!
  12. Very disappointing performance today. When you see a back 4 of Nyambe, Lenihan, Williams and Bell you know you're in for heart stopping defending. Armstrong and Dack were invisible, Brereton is beginning to worry me, Palmer should be sent back on Jan 1st if we can. We never got going at all and the only players of any note were Graham and Reed. Smallwood is very limited and should not be in before Rothwell and probably Rodwell. Gonna be a tough couple of weeks on that showing.
  13. Smallwood needs to come off. He's on a card and is continually moaning at the ref. Red card coming
  14. Pity we couldn't have won but it decent result on paper. Well done TM and the boys
  15. Really enjoyed the game today with most players having decent games. Dack and Graham are superb when they play like this, and Conway seems to have had leg transplants! Thought Nyambe had a poor game but Downing had a particularly good game. Reeds a proper terrier and the Evans Smallwood pairing work extremely hard. Well done TM, back to winning ways.
  16. What was the gate yesterday, looked around 13k again. Riverside looked fuller and were in good voice. We really need to source a new LB, Bell and Williams are either not ready or not good enough.
  17. Just back from the match which was a tale of two halves. No Charlie, Williams or Evans so enforced changes and it showed in the first half. Enter Nyambe, what a half he had, and will obviously be back in as first choice RB for the next game. First half we didn't click even though it looked an attack minded selection, but we made up for it in the second half. Should've won comfortably with better finishing, and what a good half by Armstrong. Dack and Graham were poor first half but looked better in the second. Good substitutions made it a very exciting last 20 mins. Didn't see anything from Palmer to warrant a start next game. Well done TM and the boys, must've been a good half time talk, we have a good squad that can play excellent attacking football.
