  1. We must remain focussed on the league and with so many injured or fatigued players we should play some of our 'non playing' squad players with a few experienced ones. I'll be honest that I'm not overly bothered about getting through to the next round. We cannot afford to pick up any injuries to key players if we have any aspirations to compete for a top 6 spot. Maybe something along the following - Leutwieler Bennett Grayson Williams Hart Chapman Smallwood Buckley Bell Brereton Samuel
  2. Brilliant, as soon as switch to the Leicester game we score. Now I daren't revert back to our game!
  3. We don't look too bad at the moment...…..
  4. I doubt either would happen, was just mulling over the fact we are probably paying a decent amount of money on both and neither available to play.
  5. Could, if we wished, end the loans of Cunningham and Mulgrew?
  6. Our most difficult match over the festivities and we may be down to bare bones. Presuming Nyambe is still hamstrung then we know who will be RB. I'm guessing that Holtby, Evans and Williams will still be unavailable. So, TM to select same back 4 that finished the last game, Arma, Travis, Johnson and Chapman to occupy midfield, with Brereton and Gallagher up top. Heaven knows what will happen when Tosin and Walton loans run out as we aren't blooding enough youngsters.
  7. Firstly, the performance yesterday was woeful, we couldn't match their pace or fitness. Our 1st team squad is incredibly short of experience and once we lose the odd player TM plays experienced players out of position rather than use what's available in the squad. We have 32 players in our first team squad listed on the official website, but there is not enough quality outside of the top 15. Players we know little about, or are injured or are out on loan but listed as 1st team - Cunningham, Mulgrew, Hart, Grayson, Magloire, Chapman, Davenport, Costello, Buckley, Dack, Samuel, Butterworth. Players who are recognised as 'only if there's an injury' Williams, Bell, Smallwood, Leutweier, Fisher. That's 17 players out of 32 who are not seriously considered as 'first choice', leaving 15 players he trusts, and that's why we get the square pegs in round holes. Our squad is not strong enough to mount a sustained promotion bid.
  8. Never a pen. Locals are getting vocal. Ref needs to be strong.
  9. But, we are in a reasonable position and I think a lot of teams are down to bare bones due to fatigue and injuries and they will also be playing their peripheral players. We need to hope that Lenihan comes through the game unscathed as our CD positions may become a real problem if Tosin is also out for the NYD game.
  10. Very negative board today, thankfully we aren't in the relegation mix as many predicted as this place would be a proper moanfest. 3 points off 4th, possibly our best position in several years. So, we may now be short of Dack, Nyambe, Evans and Tosin, therefore selection changes will be required. I think TM will resort to type and play Bennett at RB and Arma at RM (both Urgh). We have very little strength in depth. Huddersfield will be a tough ask as seem to have improved of late and we are looking a little one dimensional. Given the now likely absentees Walton Bennett Lenihan Williams Downing Armstrong Travis Johnson Rothwell Holtby Graham
  11. Rovers fans are always prepared for disappointment, surely you know that!
  12. We are 3 points behind 4th place, who would've thought we could be here just a month or so ago. Most teams are inconsistent around us (thankfully), and a return to winning ways would be very encouraging. If Evans and Tosin are fit I'd try a slightly different formation. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Downing Travis Evans Johnson Holtby Rothwell Gallagher Subs: Leutwiler, Williams, Chapman, Brereton, Graham, Bennett, Armstrong Had a quick look at Huddersfield website and they have an opposition 'one's to watch', and they have Williams as 'one to watch'.??
  13. Two days less recovery for our boys than Brum, and then three days to the next game, really tough few days and some tired legs. No Dack and presuming Evans is also injured, we're running out of proven midfielders! (Yes, Bennett selected again but we are a bit short) Doubt Downing will play so one of either Bell or Williams (urgh) to play LB. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Downing Bennett Johnson Travis Rothwell Holtby Gallagher
  14. EDIT: Just seen the transfer rumoured elsewhere.
  15. Bennett is a very average player IMO and wouldn't normally make a starting 11 for me. We can agree that he is a battler and my view on this game was always that we needed 11 players who could mix it and be involved.
