That may be so, but look where Bolton are now. They are definitely on the way back.

    I know they are.

They had a trip down to league 2 and most fans were prepared to accept that to get rid of the likes of Anderson and Houldsworth.

I hope we find good owners immediately after these lot leave, but was we saw BWFC it took more than one change of ownership.

Would you care to enlarge on “ they somehow might be worse “ ?

I know you didn't ask me and I therefore apologise for jumping in.

I follow what happens at Bolton a fair bit, not because I have any love for the club, but because my late ex- wife was from Bolton and I therefore have a lot of former in laws who lived in the town and support the club. My kids were also brought up there and went to school there and have mates who are Wanderers fans.

After Phil Gartside sold out, the club were bought by Ken Anderson and their former player, Dean Houldsworth. Funds used to buy the club, were mainly borrowed and there was a huge power struggle between, the two that Houldsworth lost.

Anderson took control and some of the things that happened to that club, were downright despicable.

A quick Google search for anyone interested will show what happened and is a prime example of the sort of thing that can happen, even after a sale to what appears to be, better custodians.

Another one that springs to mind is Portsmouth, who if my memory serves me correctly had 3 or 4 owners in a very short space of time, all of whom appeared to have ulterior motives.

I can't wait to see the back of Venky's, but there are no guaranteed that we will end up in the hands of decent people.

  3. Venkateswara London Limited (company number 13452736) have 2 current Directors, namely Prashan Laxman Gomashe and Ketan Shrikant Ranade, both of them are Indian. The do not seem to be directly related to Venky's.

The charge of the training ground has been placed by Crossbaron Limited, whose two directors are Anil Kumar Pitalia and Asha Pitalia, who are both British. Their address is listed as 25 Chorley new road Bolton.

    You know what IraC?

The Sheff Utd cup game last season reminded me of what the club/fanbase are capable of, we could have sold 10,000 tickets for that match, the players were superb on the day against clearly better opposition, a buzz in the town, the Sheffield streets packed with Rovers fans, it really gave me hope for the future.

All this against a backdrop of incompetence and absent owners, imagine what it could be like with a steady hand/hands running things.

    Keep the faith pal.

    Ditto.

They will not defeat us, end of.

I spent so much of my time being bitter, not going to games and generally being miserable because of these idiots. I took the decision a to try and forget them, support the club, shirt and players, but its hard when you know you've got them in the background, knowing I wouldn't trust any of them to find their own arse with both hands.

I hope they go bust to be honest, I hope they suffer as much as the businesses they closed down by allowing that relegation to happen under king rat. This club will never die, clubs like ours always survive and this one will rise again, once they scurry back under the rock from where they came, but until that happens, its crisis after crisis after crisis.

I am exactly the same way Gav.

All we can do as loyal fans, is enjoy the bits we can (Success on the field mainly) and wait for the inevitable failure that the owners will suffer and pick up the pieces from there.

Who remembers the good old days back in 2011/12 when the only thing we had to worry about was Venkys not paying back the £10m overdraft to Barclays, KPMG finding holes in the accounts and the players under threat of not being paid.

    Oh wait a minute........

It's amazing what this has evolved into.

Who in their right minds, would have let all of this happen.

This is exactly why I find it very hard to deviate from, them (or the initial people involved) having something serious to hide.

If you are drifting into cash issues, things like the web site and phone lines going down are the controllable issues you DON'T allow to happen.

Exactly. The last thing they want to happen, when every penny counts is fans to not be able to buy a ticket for was it 48 hours?

As someone with IT knowledge pointed out at the time, the length of time it was down for, did not suggest a service issue, more likely a problem with the payment perhaps?

Boltons demise began in similar fashion with training ground / car park sales etc when like you say money had to be paid back.

So we now have a no doubt huge bank overdraft that Vs can't pay down in the usual fashion, training ground rent plus new borrowings and i think there might already have been a high interest loan being paid ?

At some point you feel the proverbial will hit the fan the last time we were in a similar position there was Cairney, Rudy, Hanley, Duffy and Marshall to sell.

What this time ?   We've already done the training ground thing because they didn't manage to sell the asset they paid 7 million for to develop and sell !

We will no doubt find out, way after the event, so it could already have happened. It is if and when we hear that the players haven't been paid that we realise how dire things are.

My guess is that this will happen, before the end of the year and I still think the website being down, the phone lines being down and the closure of the Blackburn end and even the close of one of the refreshment points on Saturday, were all due to cash flow issues.

Mentioned this earlier in the thread and it seems to be coming true, if Venkys cant send over their usual £5-6m every few months then we have to find it from somewhere.

Seems like we are going down some shady routes to get our hands on it though and the penalties/interest on stuff like this could end up being horrific. Especially if this is just paying to put the heating on and pay HMRC etc.

Feels like we are in the end game with Venkys now unless this legal stuff quickly resolves itself, they clearly arent able to send the cash over anymore.

Concerning that the club havent addressed the latest legal issues, I saw a few fans got invited in for a chat with Waggot does anyoe know what was said?

My meeting in on Wednesday 22/11/2023.

Given we know that Venky’s are struggling to send money to the UK then realistically, their options to raise working capital have to be based around UK assets.

Mortgaging the training ground to raise funds is arguably therefore a sensible course of action…the only other plausible way to raise cash in the UK in a hurry is sell players. It might be short-term…it might not. Given that the company taking the charge is worth only £500k I doubt we are looking at massive fund raising at this juncture.

Two things to watch out for:-

    1. How much interest is now payable, when & presumably this must come from football operations ?

    2. New applications for planning permission on the Brockhall estate which would suggest it’s a more substantive arrangement

Two things. Why would we need to borrow from that type of company? Has our credit rating taken a battering?

Is this company a venture capitalist?

The finances chap at the trust might want to have a look at this before the next meeting with the club. My initial guess is that this venkys company which was set up to buy the training ground has now borrowed money against said asset.

Hope it isn’t another insignificant mortgage fraud.

Any idea, who the charge is in favor of?

    My guess would be Barclays

Saw a graphic that they were the 10th biggest spenders in world football this summer. The graphic included some Saudi teams so about the 6th or 7th biggest spenders in Europe. Think the figure they spent was £120m.

The issue with Burnley iirc was the way the new owners have funded the purchase, mortgaging the club to the hilt basically. They'll probably be fine if they stay in the Prem, but think the issues will come if they go down and stay down for a couple of seasons.

I did read an article about the debt they put the club in, when buying it. In some ways it seemed like a smaller version of what United did.

Spending like they did looks like a real risk, so makes me wonder what their aim is. Cut and run possibly?

It’s like the goal he scored at QPR. Some people were saying “ it was only a simple tap in “ but it was the way he opened his body up and allowed the ball to come across  him that allowed him to glide the ball into the far corner with his left foot. He could have had a bang early with his right foot and had the shot blocked. It was a cool finish for me.

I think given his fairly poor start to the season, some people are hanging him out to dry.
There is a player in there for certain and I for one can see beyond, some of the short comings and clearly you can too.

Hopefully the goal and assist in the last two games, give him the impetus and confidence he needs to push on and have a good season.
