Previous post was factual as I see it.

This is purely non-factual and speculative.

Nobody has remotely provided a rational explanation for the majority of the £270m sunk into Rovers.

Prior to the 2012 relegation there is a shameful narrative which at least is rational.

    Since then????

I am not making any assertion or allegations.

But I do recall past cases of an American company or two making seemingly inexplicable operating losses overseas as a front for parallel cash and asset transfers away from IRS jurisdiction which overall were of greater benefit than the loss. The American authorities have made this sort of thing much more difficult.

Hopefully, the Indian authorities are simply taking back asset values for a creative way of funding the now closed Swiss pharma business- if you were doing something creative moving assets out of India, Switzerland and Jersey make far more sense than the UK. Rovers in this case would be innocent collateral damage and Waggott has been told simply now is a sensitive time to transfer cash so hold tight for the moment.

Being rational this is most likely.

However, if the Rovers ownership by Venky's is at the centre of something much more "creative" which has been busted by the Indian authorities, then those on brfcs dreaming of watching 7th tier football could be about to get their wishes fulfilled.

Again, wild theories abound about what has to some, seemed like a deliberate relegation and then a reluctance to make it back to the prem.

Your theory, would make sense with a desire to also keep out of the limelight and plod along in the second or third tier. After all a club the size of Rovers, away from the bright lights of the prem, attracts almost no global exposure.

A perfect foil to do this sort of thing.

    Truth at last.

Truth will out even though I suspect this is just the tip of an iceberg.

Lots of people have been lambasted for suggesting things such as money laundering was at the center of all this. Granted there have been some far fetched theories, but it has never made sense them owning us.

I also suspect this is the tip of the iceberg too, but hopefully, this will grow and a proper investigation will now take place.

Hopefully the club will not suffer too much, as after all the club is the fans ultimately and a hardcore of these fans, did try their very best to show, not only the sports authorities, but the wider government, that there were big issue with the purchase and running of the club.

The cover up took place and maybe now, finally the truth is starting to come out.

Interestingly they set up another company in Jersey in January,

With Zedra Trust also having financial interest and a Stephen guy also listed along side the V's.

    They were appointed in 2016,

One of that companies directors appears to feature in the investigation we presented to the FA.

    Learnt their lesson?

If the Indian government are claiming their assets for dodgy transactions to the UK, is the end in sight?

    Kevin Stephen Guy.

It could be another dose of bad advice.

From what I understand, it won't be that bad.

They are still putting (and intending to put) money into the club, though the emphasis has been the club having to help out in this interim period (eg retaining some of the funds raised by transfers).

How it affects the longer-term and whether it's a potential 'out' for them, genuinely don't know and we'll have to see how it plays out...

    It won’t be that bad!!!!

Money laundering is a very serious offense and could lead to the perpetrators being jailed.

    EFL Regulation 128.1:

"Clubs shall hold at least two meetings / fans forums per season to which its supporters (or representatives) are to be invited in order to discuss significant issues relating to the Club. The framework for these meetings shall be documented in the Club's customer charter , but are subject to the following minimum criteria:

128.1.1: Club's must be represented by the Club's majority owner, Board director(s) or other senior executive(s)

128.1.2: Where meetings are not open to all supporters wishing to attend, the supporter representatives must be elected, selected or invited in line with basic democratic principles

128.1.3: Individuals cannot be excluded by the Club without good reason

Now when supporter consultation meetings were first made mandatory by the League they ran in addition to the Fans Forum meetings. The idea was that the Fans Forum meetings would continue on their 2-3 monthly cycles and cover the usual business and then these bigger meetings would take place once or twice a year to cover more important and signficant issues.

Unsurprisingly, as with shareholder meetings, Waggott has seized advantage of Covid as an excuse to stop these and is now getting away with just having the small forum meetings every few months to talk about predominantly minor issues such as ticketing, catering and merchandise.

I'd also suggest that with the exception of Waggott the other people present at Fans Forum meetings are not of sufficient seniority to comply with these requirements. In times gone by they have also tried to blag it by inviting the manager and Bob Coar, again neither of which meet the criteria above.

I will be writing to Waggott to request an explanation as to why the Club has decided to cease holding shareholder meetings and standalone supporter consultation meetings.

It would be interesting if they did one now, with the manager involved. I get the impression JDT would not wax lyrical, like Mowbray did and turn it into a love in. I’m sure some proper feathers would be ruffled and perhaps a few home truths would come out.

There is hope and there are facts.

JDT was clear that telalevic is unknown and inexperienced. Doesn't sound like he's even on JDTs list of suggestions. He's here for JDT to "develop"

Hedges let us down with that golden opportunity too

If JDT does not fancy him, then he doesn’t pick him. I guess that then makes him a pointless signing.

The truth of the matter is, if things are still being run in the same way that they have in the past, then he might be made to play certain players.

I keep on hoping things have changed, but it seems like they never do.

There was green paint sprayed on Queen Vic's statue which seemed to be there for years. The route to Ewood from town was also littered with Plymouth slogans spray painted on various walls and buildings.

    I remember it well.

Sweet revenge arrived later, as we sent them home with their tails between their legs. I think that win put us top and we stayed their until the end of the season after that.

My first taste of promotion, as a fan.

Couldn't agree more. He's obviously deeply unhappy with the way this summer has panned out. We've got an international break soon after the window closes.

Regardless of any talks of contracts there need to be some talks just to clear the air. Outline what caused the change in budgets and if there are ways of ensuring more consistency moving forwards, give him those reassurances.

Then, money on the table. We're delighted with your performance, we want to keep you long term Jon. If he wants some kind of release clause then so be it. At least we'd be making sure we are fairly compensated when he does leave and at the end of the day, we want a happy manager.

He's the best thing that's happened to our club in such a long time. My favourite manager since Souness.

As JDT is at pains to point out in his interviews, he is as much in the dark as the fans.

With the radio silence at the club, ever since the owners arrived, there is very little chance of anything other than the same again.

well before my supporting time but did`nt plymouth bring thousands due to some subsidised coach travel, there was green paint on the boulevard for years😆

They all arrived on the train actually. Not too sure if it was subsidised, but for some reason, it arrived early morning and all their fans went on the rampage in the town centre. You are quite right about the green paint.

I will do mate. Yeah I broke my leg in the first minute of the first pre-season friendly that season and didn't play again until half way through the next season. I only played for Marsh House for a couple of seasons - Lower Chapel and Darwen Olympic before them were my Saturday teams and then latterly the Alex/Sunnyhurst.

    Cheers for that.

Sounds nasty that. I had to leg breaks in my time and luckily managed to get over both and carry on playing.

I am pretty sure I will have played against you for West End, against both Lower Chapel and Marsh House.

I can't remember playing Darwen Olympic, but definitely played against the other two sides you played for.

I was in that Marsh House team but got very badly injured in a pre season friendly at Turton and missed the entire season. I spoke to Dave on Sunday, he’s bewildered at the minute.

I probably played against you, as I played for West End CYC for around 15 years. Sorry to hear about the injury, did it mean you missed the final on Ewood?

I don't know Dave personally, but certainly remember playing against him.

Pass on my condolences, when you next speak to him.

He did yeah and Lower Chapel Olympic prior to that

I remember paying against him a few times over the years, including the 1987 Eddleston cup final on Ewood Park.

He will be beside himself, with what has happened.

I have two of my own around the same age.

    Awful news.

This has really knocked me for six. Matt’s dad was a teammate of mine for years and a fantastic bloke (and no mean footballer either). Matt was the same age as my youngest son as well. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Thoughts are with Dave and all the Sillitoe family today. RIP Matthew.

I think I know who Matt's Dad is. Did he play for Marsh House in Blackburn combination in the late 80's early 90's?
