It’s days like this that make following BRFC, the nicest hobby in the world.
Everyone working hard, sticking to a game plan and showing that bit of quality, when needed.
JDT has a style about him, both in terms of his coaching and what he says to the press and in essence, the hierarchy at the club, through the press.
He has instilled both style and character and a real sense of togetherness in the players.
I thought Hyam and Carter were magnificent today, Pears did everything asked of him and Wharton is just a real gem.
The goal was worthy of winning the match and the start is now a decent one.
I always thought the result was key today and I’m delighted we did it.
Time to enjoy a beer and catch up with my daughter, son in law and Grandson, who are out to see me, for a holiday.
COYB.

Nerves kicking in now, as even thought it’s early days, a win gets the tails up and it’s let’s crack on time and a defeat, would perhaps be a bad dent to an early season optimism.
As usual with Rovers games, the first goal will be crucial.

Off to try and find a pub in Mallorca to watch the game, where randomly it’s absolutely pissing down!
We got some rain yesterday for about an hour. Lovely again now, but a bit windy.
You should find a bar showing it.

So basically you’ve got Rovers to win 1-0 with Wharton needing to assist Szmodics for the goal and Porteious and Travis to be booked.
The bookies love this kind of bet.

Because he hasn't done well in his first game? Pretty impatient of them. I remember Dack didn't have a great start to life here.
Pre season too. He is not going to shine in La Liga.

1-1 at home with 15 to go, 4 subs and no sign of him.
He started the most recent match and was subbed around 15 minutes form time.
Villarreal get first win of the season thanks to Gerard Moreno’s goal against RCD Mallorca
Villarreal can smile. The Submarine got their first win of the season with a 0-1 victory over RCD Mallorca thanks to a goal from Gerard Moreno, who became the club’s all-time top scorer (107 goals), surpassing Adriano García. Good news all round.
The biggest novelties in Quique Setién’s XI were the Italian centre-back Matteo Gabbia and the Anglo-Chilean striker Brereton Díaz. Both made their debuts in official matches and were in the starting line-up.

Any news on Brereton, is he getting selected, scoring goals, assists?
The locals are realising, that they have signed a dud.

He doesn't play for draws and certainly seems to have the philosophy of going for it. A lot better than turning up, especially at an away ground and grinding out a point.
Lose 2 and win one, never seemed as good as 3 draws, but it yields the same number of points, so I applaud him for this, especially if it is to wins and a loss, instead of 3 draws.

I do not profess to having a clue about modern tactics, that is why I would like to hear JDTs reasoning behind todays way of playing.
Up to the red card, it looked to me like we were playing a high risk very open style. It reminded me of the second half V Millwall last season.
At that point, it crossed my mind that JDT was perhaps thinking, what have we to lose here? Until and if we have some new signings in, I’m on a hiding to nothing, so just okay open football and hope to win 4-3 or something. I think he even eluded to that in his pre match interview.
It changed after the sending off, as we retreated a bit. We may well do the same next Sunday though.

Actually think we are doing okay, despite the fact we are one man down,
Come on COYB ❤️
Me too. If we can keep it level up to the hour, we can go on to win this still.

I think Szmodics is too much of a 'cheeky-chap' to be captain. Let him just get on with his game and lead by example, he's not the player you want representing the team. JRC would be my shout.
Hyam for me.

It won't be bizarre by the end of the season, I reckon it'll be very much the norm. There's going to be a lot of red cards for dissent.
That red (second yellow) was given due to their player waving an imaginary card. That’s a bootable offense this season. The ref did his job and I’m sure that will be the punishment every time.

I wonder if this can be streamed on Rovers TV?
I may have to Visit Phong Nha or some such far flung land.
I think the App is now showing the countries, each game is available in. As luck would have it, I could get it in Spain last week, but have found the need to nip off elsewhere now and then.
I have paid for 46 games, which at £140 is great value, even if I need to nip off elsewhere now and then.
Like you, I have needed to do it Very Pretty Niftily, but given that I have paid, that's fine by me.

Six goals in two games, after we have all been worrying about where the goals will come from.
The league will be a bigger barometer obviously, but so far, a very good average of 3 per game.

The match day excitement is back and whether we hate the owners, hate what’s happening at the club at the minute, or even have our differences on here, we all love the club.
I hope the rallying cry from JDT does the trick and the fire in the players bellies, gets us over the line and we all have a lovely Saturday evening.
I fly back to Spain at 5.00pm so hope I take off safe in the knowledge that we have 3 points in the bag.
I wish everyone on here an exciting and successful season, as we enjoy the spills and thrills, playing out before us.
Hope those going have a safe trip and shout themselves hoarse.
Vamos los azules.

I would have settled for that, as I am mightily relieved he is still with us.

TBF----We simply read what you write and draw conclusions. We're still awaiting the revolution you told us was round the corner but which you couldn't reveal details of for reasons of confidentiality.
Hasn't happened has it?
He has admitted that is hasn't happened, but failed to expand on that and I can't understand why. If Waggott had promised certain things to him, that in turn meant he posted what he did, then why not now, say what it was that he was told and what the timeframe was.
I think we all know the SW has the gift of the gab and manages to appease most fans. That said, I think he will have a hard time doing that to GM when he meets him next week.
