My recollection is that it was only one of them involved, the one who likes mixing with celebrities.

The one and only Balaji, who allegedly had some serious issues with regards to torturing his employees. It was probably nothing though and he might have just had a bit more bad advice.

  2. Whatever happens on Saturday, this trip down memory lane with PP and Toffs etc, has brought memories flooding back of yesteryear in Blackburn town centre.

My Saturday night out round these places, were usually after a 90 minute run around the Pleasington football pitches, or Griffin, or even mill hill St Peters. I can still feel those first 3 or 4 pints, hitting the sweet spot.

Wonderful days and even better when the combination matches didn't clash and I could go and watch my heroes in the famous blue and white halves.

  3. Until someone shows me otherwise, I will never deviate from this being one big con job, that has backfired.

We all know there were people involved at the very beginning, who were effectively running the club. Signing players who were only good enough to carry Christmas hampers, or who came and went without ever making an appearance, was the order of the day. Likewise with the first manager appointed, who as we all know had very close links with these people.

Even the appointment of Coyle seemed to lead back to that very stable and how knows, who is still lurking in the corridors.

It has proved to be a very expensive mistake, but again is all of the money being  put in, actually being put in by the owners, or by a third party? In addition to that, if the brown envelope story, paid to the player liaison office is true and the same paid to Givet's tailor is true, then who knows what comes back out again, to people of this ilk.

  4. He was the chairman when I first started watching Rovers. I didn't have a clue at that tender age, what went on in a boardroom, or even what a chairman was. I simply recall reading the programmes from back to front and seeing his name.

Chairman WH Bancroft was etched in my mind from back then, in the early seventies.

    RIP Mr Bancroft.

  5. The other big one for us this weekend is the Friday night match Boro V Norwich.

If Boro turn them over, it puts us firmly in the driving sit if you were looking at them being the main rivals. Currently they are ahead of us in the betting, as are Millwall, but come Sunday morning, the picture could have changed dramatically.

We have an exciting weekend ahead.

  6. I would honestly suggest that any Burnley fans turning up without a ticket, should be banned from their ground.

Its bad enough hearing what happened at the Blackpool game, so hopefully they will stay at home, watch it on TV and enjoy it that way.

No violence, or injury or worse should be tolerated, full stop.

    What were the questions?

    1. Is your wife/husband/partner a blood relative?

    2. On a scale of 1 to 10 how attractive are your siblings?

    3. You see a former Burnley manager's wife in the chip shop, what do you do?

is the answer to question 3, throw a bucket of water over her?

Soo we'll have a Premier League consisting entirely of Liverpool, the Manchester clubs and the London commuter belt. Oh and the Middle East State-owned Newcastle. Perhaps Villa.

    Sickening.

Assuming Luton do get there, this season or in the future, a country could well come in and buy them.

Multi- Billionaire owners will then have a cartel and the gap between the top and bottom half will be HUGE.

Write off at least half of your games as big defeats, if you are a team that makes it to the premier league through the play offs, without any parachute funds.

I was at a game at Burnden Park years ago. There was a bloody great clock on front of the main stand. About 15 minutes before the end of the game the ref blew for time ! Everybody went off and the fans started to leave. We could see the clock and we couldn’t figure out why the players had gone off so we hung around. After about 5 to 10 minutes the players came rushing back onto the pitch. Some were putting their kit back on and some looked like they’d just got out of the shower.

We we’re losing 2-1 at that point and the score stayed that way unfortunately.

If I didn’t know any better, I would have blamed that on Rovers current admin team. Greg and his motley crew of administration, could have been involved surely?

  10. With Millwall to play Preston next week at their ground and Rovers still to play them both, this is still very firmly in our hands.

Norwich have a tough one on Friday night too, so todays result was not as bad as it could have been, especially after the first half.

We have to do the business in the next two home games and we are stull in the driving seat, if we do.

BBD is a real conundrum he has been way below par for a good few games, faffs around with the ball, gives silly fouls away and cannot find the killer pass or shot - his mind is clearly elsewhere and for me he should be benched. Really chuffed for young Leonard and JRC had a really good effective game - I recall the last time he played at Huddersfield he was absolutely atrocious that game ! Morton was much better whilst I thought Dolan could have done so much more especially in the first half. We now move on to next Saturday and Hull at home - it may be a very pivotal game with everyone else having played earlier in the day ! I believe our hopes for a top 6 slot are over for this season there is too much to do and it looks like our neighbours will have the last nail in our seasons coffin🤬

We could well have the added incentive of a win putting us back in the top 6. With 5 games to go for us and 4 for some of our rivals, I would settle for that all day long.

    And Ayala, and Dack…

We won’t beat Coventry, Preston, Burnley, PNE or Millwall. We’ve got statistically the hardest run in, in the league. Needed to beat Birmingham and Huddersfield to have any hope.

I think we can get something from all of those games and would happily take us going into the last game still having our destiny in our own hands.

We do tend to take points when we are not expected to and vice versa. I think we will beat Hull and Coventry at home (opposite to what I have just said I know) but also think we will win PNE at their place. That would leave us in with a chance V Millwall in the last game, even if we lose the derby and draw against Luton.

I still think we are in with a decent shout.

Really mixed feelings, hard to escape the feeling that a draw isnt enough and with such a hard run in, I am not very confident.

Thought performance wise we were as good as I can remember in quite a while. The change to a midfield 3 gave Wharton a bit more freedom and he was excellent as was Morton who was so much better deep in a 3.

Rankin Costello was phenomenal, talk of moving him IMO is misguided as he offers us such a unique threat from right back. Brereton has got a lot of unfair stick but he was unlucky with a couple of decisions and was a constant threat, the front 3 lacked ruthlessness but you would hate to play against them. Leonard did more today than Vale either does in the league.

The question is what do we do on Saturday. I would be tempted to stick with the same middle 3 and front 3 although there is a temptation to put in either Thomas or Hedges and move Szmodics central behind probably Brereton. I think I would stick with the 3.

I think Kaminski deals with that first better and I hope he comes back in on Saturday, he is a better keeper. The centre backs were shaky again and I would be tempted to put Scott Wharton in v Hull.

We do seem to perform better when the expectations are lower. I have a felling we may well do better than people think in the remaining games that appear the toughest.

We need a win on Saturday to set us up, but can get something from each of the final 4 in my opinion.

Coventry may be a tough one, but beating them will put them out of it.

    Great come back!

Sadly, a point today might prove not to be enough come the end of the season.

    RJC - superb.

Leonard LOOKS a player and unlucky not to net at least one goal.  Nicely built lad, good movement, an eye and a nose for goal and not overawed.

MUST STARTERS for Saturday: Kaminski, Adam Wharton and Leonard.

I do wonder if that point could prove to be crucial. I have this strange feeling that Rovers and Millwall with both need a ppojnt from that final game.

Draw 0-0 would surely then be nailed on.

  15. It will take me a while to calm down from that. I had better get the scores on and hope we remain in to top 6 by the end of today.

I would have definitely taken a point at half time, but thought we bossed the second half, so much that we should have won it. They were playing like the away side and the amount of time they wasted, nearly cost them.

The big positive things form the day are Adam Wharton, starting and playing pretty well and giving Leonard a game.

JRC was my man of the match and his finish was sublime.

Hope we can win on Saturday and go into the derby with our tails up.

we are still in the mi here and need to believe.
