  1. I watched on Rovers TV having popped from Spain to Italy as a Very Proud Northerner.

What a great win and performance. I am literally shaking as I type this.

Great credit to everyone for not getting bullied. Sheffield UTD very dirty and how Basham did not get a second yellow is beyond me.

What a move for the goal. Defence magnificent and the midfield worked like Trojans too. Great to see Travis back at his best. I am Buckley fan and thought he was immense again.

Great teamwork throughout and who knows, perhaps we are good enough for second.

  2. One has to wonder how many others have gone wrong in the last, but we have managed to sort them out, as we had time? Maybe the EFL were fed up of for example sending the Hyam papers back 2 or 3 times, before the finally got them right.

They may well do this all the time, but on this one deadline day deadline minute, meant we had no time to go back and correct it.

Billy Smart would do a better job.

got a reply from Rovers, some selected matches are available to watch live in UK, Reading at home is up next.

It tends to be midweek games that are available in the UK. Most games are available overseas, but when the game is chosen for foreign TV it does then exclude certain countries. This weekend for example, you could get the QPR game in Spain and Germany, but not in France.

I paid £140 for the year, as I spend most of my time in Spain and do find that decent value for money, as it covers home and away games.

From what I can gather, there is a £10 per game option too, hence me suggesting £140 for all available games is good value.

No worries at all 🙂 I too am dreading the Burnley game, hopefully it's pushed back so there's no prospect of them securing promotion at Ewood.

If they are already up and are champions (it is inevitable) it might not be as bad. We do need to turn them over though and let's face it, we could well secure a play off place, if it is very close to the end of the season, due to it being re-arranged.

    No chance!

When I say 'free hit' in this context, I mean more it's a game we aren't expected to win and we can play with a bit of freedom. Probably the wrong choice of words, but it's the most relaxed I've been about a game in a while. The pressure is on the home side. By no means am I suggesting we should write it off or be happy having our bellies tickled!

I am not relaxed about it all. I hope like hell they do not clinch either the title or promotion at our place. I have already had the game enter my dreams, even though it is potentially 3 weeks away and probably longer if it gets postponed due to cup commitments.

I want us to rip them a new one and hope both Wharton brothers play and score.

Both " Longsiders " and I have had some criticism for downplaying our success this season, indeed it has been referred to as a " little owd Burnley " schtick by one poster ... so I'm donning my hard hart after posting this !!

I've just realised you have a " Ticker " Clock at the foot of the home page detailing the number of years, months, days etc since " Burnley won anything ". This is factually incorrect, as since our 1959-60 Football League Championship, we've won the following ...

    Championship/2nd Division (Tier 2)

    • Winners:  1972-73, 2015-16, 2022-23 ( pending ! )
    • Play-off winners: 2008-09

    Second Division/Third Division (Tier 3)

    • Winners: 1981-82
    • Play-off winners: 1993-94

    Fourth Division (Tier 4)

    • Winners: 1991-92

    Cup

    FA Charity Shield

    • Winners: 1960 (shared), 1973

    Anglo Scottish Cup

    • Winners: 1978-1979

I would also point out that Burnley currently lead on the " Head to Head " in League & Cup, 43 to 41, with 19 draws.

On a more serious note, I attended the wake of David Hopkinson, the QEGS Master who passed away recently at Ewood Park. Not only was I there for myself, but also to represent a number of former pupils who asked me to pass on condolences, including Mike E, Revidge Blue and Herbie6590 of this Parish !!

Rather bizarrely, I had to walk through the Main Stand marked " Players Entrance ". Given the fact that a combination of genes & the Good Lord gave me a frame far more suited to being a Rugby 2nd Row Forward, I chuckled to myself walking up the stairs, " Too old, too fat, too slow, wrong game and what's more, wrong bl***y Club ! ". Hoppy would have seen the irony, I'm sure !! 😎

Sad stuff that with David Hopkinson. I didn't know him, but from reading your post, he sounds like a great bloke.

I have had the honour of knowing one of the players, who played for the Clarets, the last time they won a major trophy, namely the old division one title.

I know Brian Pilkington was very proud of that achievement I have shared at least 20 conversations, with people who called into his office to share the memories and ask for memorabilia to be signed.

A great man Brian and I hope he is resting in peace too.

I think that hits the nail on the head. I'm all for saying that defenders should be there to defend first and foremost, but all decent fullbacks have to bring something offensively too these days. He just wasn't developing in that side of his game.

He only played there a couple of times for us, but I think he could potentially be great on the right side of a back three. Wigan's problem now I suppose.

I guess the fact that his contract will end soon and his CV is likely to show, he couldn’t get in the side of a relegated team speaks volumes. He will be a free agent and may have one hell of a struggle getting a decent contract.

Is I was his agent, I would be worried.

20 x the player Morton is.

I said after the Blackpool game, Buckley is one of them players who has such a good football brain, that he gains that split second that makes the difference. His eye for a killer pass is his biggest asset though.

He put a great defensive tackle in midway through the second half today, to ease the pressure. Add that to his game on a consistent basis and I think we have a cracker.

Same here. Had to resort to finding online steams to watch Rovers even though i paid for the RoversTV by supporting the club. Seriously considering to buy game pass next season instead.

It’s £10 per game and £140 for the season. Even missing a few, it’s still decent value. I think I have only missed one, but do have to pop over the boarder now and then.
