  1. I knew I wouldn’t sleep and here I am again on here at silly O’Clock. Been trying to work out, how this weekends results will go and how we will be feeling when he kick off on Saturday.

I think Coventry and Millwall will win and if they do, I think we need to. I then think WBA will beat Sunderland on Sunday. If that does all happen and especially if we can win, then a point V the Dingles, would be a good one.

I still have this funny feeling we will go to Millwall on the final day and both teams will need one point to finish in the top six.

It would be so much better, had we held on, but to coin a phrase “This is Blackburn Rovers’.

  2. Hard to swallow that, but everyone put a shift in. I think I was sweating blood in the last 20 mins. It wasn’t to be, but had we lost, it was probably all over.

We can definitely get something at Preston and will know the other results by the time we play.

This time next week, if it is still in our own hands, I think we will do it.

Nail biting stuff and it will be hard to sleep tonight now.

If he's not been getting game time there's likely to be a reason behind it.

    Lots of speculation here.

Why everyone is going mad about him not playing is a little strange given that he has yet to complete a full 90 minutes.

I think he did V Blackpool, although I may be wrong.

I only partly knew some of this, so have missed a few bits. It does sound like he could be difficult to manage, but hopefully someone can sort him out. What a shame it would be, if his apparent petulance, ruins his chances at Rovers and beyond.

Only JDT's and his staff opinion matters in picking the team

Absolutely. I guess the same applied when everyone on here and more or less every fan wanted Kean sacked. All that really mattered was the owners opinion and they didn’t. In fact, they never sacked him. I wonder if he would still be here, if he hadn’t decided to walk?

There have been some very strange things happening at the club, since these owners arrived and the sure as hell test the patience of us fans, whose opinions have never counted for anything, in their entire tenure.

We all thought that rat picked the team, during those days. After all as you state with the current regime, it’s the managers opinion that matters. Those stories about others influencing his selections, including what subs to make, could well, just be fiction. Rovers have become an awful lot more different than they were pre Venky’s, so who knows whose opinions really matter here?

JDT has explained why he hasn't been playing here and that part of the game is just as important as ever at PL level.

Jack O'Connell dropped down a league 1 with Sheffield United before becoming PL player. Similar to John Egan.

Bellingham is unbelievable player and that's why he is set to join Man City this summer for over 130 million pounds.

Of course I would start Wharton over at the minute but Morton isn't the problem but the lack of movement ahead of the centre back meaning slow tempo of the ball.

It’s amazing that almost everyone on here says Wharton should be ahead of Morton in the starting line up, but still he isn’t being picked.

I know we don’t like the boy, but Keith Andrews isn’t actually a bad pundit . Who’s the tanned Glaswegian, he’s alway has a good thing to say about Rovers.

Coventry is a must win must must  win….. surely everyone agrees?

Crazy as it sounds, we need to make sure they don’t beat us. A win will make life more comfortable, when trying to keep the chasing pack at bay. If Coventry beat us, they go above us and our game in hand is the derby.

The results for Sunderland at home to Huddersfield, West Brom, away at Blackpool, Norwich away to QPR and Preston away at Swansea, will also all be  crucial. Watford are a bit further back and they are home V Cardiff.

Beating Coventry puts us 5 points clear and they will have 3 games left. A bit like the Norwich game, beat them and it almost ends their chances. We all know what happened there though!!!

  8. Prepare for more disappointment. We can’t score and I’m sure we will concede in this one. With the teams behind us all poised to take the sixth and final play off spot, I think we will slip out of that on Wednesday and we won’t get back in. A season ending defeat is highly likely. A draw in this one, would perhaps prolong our agony, but out form is shocking, so it’s 0-2, or 0-3 this one for me.

  9. I think we saw again tonight that the fall out between Adam Wharton and JDT is still causing issues. He should have stated tonight, or at least come on at half time.

Had the line up been right, we would have won and despite tonight’s disappointment, he could still redeem himself by getting it right in Wednesday and Saturday. I would imagine we will get more of the same though and pick up either 1 or two points end end the season before the Dingles come to town.

Tonigjt is firmly on the manager and perhaps down to some pig headed argument.

Extremely bad practise but only happened after years of not finding a buyer acceptable to the Trust under the terms the Trustees had to work to and after that individual had all but forced himself on them.

Similarly now, the Venkys have their own internal rules of decision making and standards by which they would consider a potential offer for the club.

We might not agree the standards these two owners set (and reputedly Jack set some barriers for the Trustees which today most would regard as problematic) but that is the privilege of owners.

    Big but

Those standards have protected Rovers from fates far worse than Venkys and I would argue with now considerable conviction that nobody would have issue with 3 of the 4  decision makers who make decisions by unanimity in the Venkys ownership.

    However

The advisers to the Venkys which Venkys decided to be advised by included some of the worst people imaginable.

I was as passionately against what was happening in the period 2010 to 2017 as anyone on this chat board and unlike many put time and effort into trying to do something about it.

I have learnt in life that the best thing is to learn, not to carry grudges, not to live in a what might have been world and to try to evaluate the situation as it is in the real world today.

That is why I am asking everyone to look at the situation today and as it has been since the appointment of Tony Mowbray some six years ago.

Not perfect but I would take Rovers' current ownership situation over that of 90% of the othe 91 clubs in the PL/EFL.

That's all well and good Philip, but one thing to ask, would you forgive the super agent, who went on Sky Sports, accused us fans of being racist and also accused us of hounding his son out of the club?

He broke down in tears when conducting that interview, we were that bad, according to him.

Venky's sat back and let this happen and have never gone on record to explain, exactly what happened for them to get embroiled in all this and why they have never taken anyone to task over it. They have been taken for £300 million and still counting, yet they sit back and do sod all about it. WHY?

I know you mention this in your post, but are you satisfied that we are fully rid and that there is not someone lurking around in the shadows still.

For what is is worth, I am convinced that is the case.

I disagree with the whole 'bought the league' argument fans wheel out, heard it ourselves many times about '95. Usually from the mouths or keyboards of fans of teams who funnily enough have never managed to win it themselves. Of course it gives you an advantage having cash to spend, but how many teams have pissed money away over the years with nothing to show?

VK has been VERY fortunate in that he's been allowed to bring all his own players in, whilst also getting shut of some deadwood by default. I mean of their departures who has even been a success?

Collins is usually a sub for Wolves.

Cornet has barely played (not sure if he's been injured though). I forgot he even existed till I saw a video of him being chased by a dog the other day 😕

McNeil I've never ever understood the fuss on, Everton definitely had their pants pulled down there.

Pope is a good un, don't think that was ever in doubt.

Tarkowski and Mee I guess are doing OK.

The rest don't deserve a mention and a few are without a club still I think? It just adds to the dingle argument about all the players they 'lost' so HAD to sign replacements.

A few of their better players are also loans, not sure if there's scope to make them permanent though or they'll have big gaps to fill again.

A little look at what Chelsea have spent and their league position tells you how right that is.
