Wouldn’t it be great and a big two fingers to waggott if we all got tickets in the JW lower and at 7.40 everyone just stepped over the fence and walked round to the bburn end and sat in there . Take our end back. If a few hundred did it I don’t think they could or would do anything 💪

Maybe get a quick bit of marketing out to sort that.

The acronym to start this is SWIMS.

    Steve Waggot It's MSeat.

  2. It’s a very frustrating night tonight. As in most Revers games, over the last 2 - 3 seasons, the first goal was crucial. What a pity we couldn’t turn that blistering 25 minute start into a 2 or 3 goal lead.

The pen and their goal changed the game and conceding the second, when we did was also a killer.

Some good performances tonight from Moran in particular and Hyam and Carter.

It feels like small margins, but there is a long way to go yet.

Unlikely as it feels just now, a win on Saturday, will make tonight a faded memory and I think we could surprise a few there.

not sure his football intelligence was all that.it was kenny that made the best use of his limited skill set,get the ball in the box as quickly as possible, kenny was such a good manager he did the same for atkins, who was absolutely pillored by everybody before kenny got hold of him

those two shattered the myth that we bought the title, wilcox came through the youth system and atkins cost 20 grand, both of them were instrumental in us securing the title  ✌️ up to the media!!!!!

It’s a narrative the media wanted to portray.

Its been pointed out on here recently, how much Man U have spent over the last 10 years.

As Kenny said at the time, the money helps, but it’s not the be all and end all.

Used to see him often in the Olde White Bull Saturday nights. Quite happy to talk about the day's game to anyone who asked him. As to his other clubs take your pick!

Malcolm Darling (born 4 July 1947) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He was a winger who played for Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City, Rochdale, Bolton Wanderers, Chesterfield, Stockport County, Sheffield Wednesday, Hartlepool United and Bury

    Thanks. It was Chesterfield

  5. All speculation. I simply keep myself sane on the subject, by thinking something was so dodgy at the takeover point, when they were mixed up with agents and rogues, that they are too scared to off load it.

If they do sell it, someone doing their due diligence will out what happened and expose a bag full of corruption.

Its probably not the real reason, but it helps me to sleep at night.

The next to Gordon Taylor and Chris Sulley is Johnny Byrom who was a great favourite in the early sixities before leaving for Bolton in 1966.  Seemed to always give us problems whenever we played Bolton thereafter.  Returned to Rovers right at the end of his career for a season.  A really great guy.

Chris Sims is between Bryan Douglas and Malcolm Darling.

I didn’t see Byrom the first time around, as it was before my time. I did see him play his final season for us too.

I also remember Malcom Darling playing against us too, but can’t remember who he played for.

His sister Stella Oldfield (née Darling) was a family friend and I remember her telling me her brother was playing against us, the night before the match.

Does anyone remember who he played for?

  7. I thought GB came across very well. I am not one for accepting that everything that comes out of someone’s mouth is true, so really think this interview will make or break him.

The next 5 league games and the cup game will define our season. If we can pick up 9 or 10 points and progress in the cup, it’s game on. If not, this interview will suddenly seem to have lots of platitudes in it.

Its died a death because the brief news only became public knowledge a few days ago and until there is some more there isn't really a lot more to say.

Perhaps you should avoid the thread and leave it for people to vent their views on the ownership, meanwhile you could start your own pro ownership thread and point out why you love them ?

There'll be nothing more on this now unless the investigation turns up something else or it gets dropped.

I second that and would say please bring it on, if the poster wants to start a pro ownership thread.

I might be wrong, but suspect that al least 99% of the member on here (including Sympathetic Claret) consider these owners to be nothing but Charlatons.

In the whole of my time supporting Rovers, I have never known anything feel like this. Having gone through relegations, agonising play off defeats (Palace being the worst one), agonising cup defeats and losses to our local rivals, the years of torment, these people have put us through, is 100 times worse than any of those out together.

The sooner they are gone the better and I do wonder how any proper long term supporter can see it any differently.

How “The club” can state that is beyond me and given how the owners are under investigation, for what appears to be a serious matter, then perhaps “The club” needs to carry out some further due diligence.

I know meetings take place between Waggott and various groups, so perhaps the next key question, is why he came out bragging about paying the wages and leasing a new coach. Was he aware of what was really going on, or did he believe the narrative about the tax changes?

Dependent on his answer to this and given that the investigation appears to be on going, perhaps a proper statement, about what the consequences and some assurances to the football authorities, needs to be forthcoming.

I doubt the sentencing guidelines in India do not reflect the UK’s!

UK law is far different than India’s or anywhere else for that matter!

I would not for one minute  doubt that, bit would think mortgage fraud anywhere in the world, would be pretty serious.

Given that Barclays have been mentioned and perhaps funding secured on a UK property, that would fall under UK law too and as already mentioned, is a very serious matter.

It’s probably noting more than mortgage fraud over in the UK!

If found guilty of mortgage fraud, a defendant faces up to 12 months in jail and a fine on summary conviction, or, on indictment, to imprisonment for a maximum jail term of 10 years and/or a fine.

I am a professional mortgage broker, so know this inside out.

I've been in touch with the editor of the India Today article.

He would be interested in doing a fresh story regarding their investment in Blackburn Rovers.

He wants accurate details and numbers.

Would any of the people with more knowledge on the specifics of their investment (in numbers) being interested in getting in touch with him?

I am sure someone on here can provide pretty accurate number and a detailed account of what has happened.

It depends on the scale of it.

Why do it if only 'minor'. Usually these things are done due to the vast amounts of money at stake.

Not that this matters. Fundamentally whether it is £1 million or £100 million if illegal activity e.g. fraud or money laundering has been taking place it is a crime.

If that is found to be the case I don't see how anyone can accept the club being funded in such a way.

It was legal proceedings that brought down the Oystons at Blackpool and I've always expected this is the only way of getting this lot out of Rovers. Fingers crossed.

If anyone thinks this is too small to matter, if you call HMRC and admit that you have understated your income by around £5k per year for the last 5 years, sit back and see what happens.

Tax evasion, money laundering and fraud, are all serious offences, irrespective of the amounts.

For these who are still a little unclear about what can happen to an owner of a football club, getting involved in this sort of activity, check out where the Fleetwood FC owner Andrew Piley, currently resides.

But what will that mean for Rovers ? The club is split in two with the training ground sale, we totally rely on funds from the owners, unless there is another Jack Walker out there - how do we avoid a Bury or Wigan scenario ? Everyone seems to be celebrating this news - I struggle to see how we can currently survive without the owners cash injections.

The cash injections appear to  have stopped don't they. With the CEO celebrating paying the wages and hiring a bus, then it looks to me like every month is about to become a struggle.

I hope I can pay my mortgage, bills and keep my vehicle on the road, without the need for a handout this month.
