  1. Norwich are where they are because they have an identity. We don't, we chop and change so much, theres no fluidity. Their 2 full backs will scare a few players next season.
  2. great save, covering up the fact he should have gone for it in the air.
  3. Agreed, delivers his opinions well and Iusually agree with him. Thought he was mainly a PL reviewer, but seems to know CH too.
  4. Mowbray, please end this right back experiment.
  5. Williams has cleared up 2 or 3 situations at the back. He looks more natural at CB.
  6. Best thing Travis has done all game.
  7. I wouldn't take 50's with how we've performed so far.
  8. Which makes it all the more confusing why we're tripe at the back, considering Mowbrays very decent career as a centre half. That back line of ours too often look like a bunch of strangers rangled off the street.
  9. Reminds me a bit of the Pedersen situation when he first signed. Sparky knew what to do with him, guess we have to hope Mowbray can do the same.
  10. But clearly outside of the funds we had available. As he said, clubs, players and agents were trying to rinse every penny. Summer is the time.
  11. I'd probably agree with you there. I don't think he is. However I agree with the sentiments that we aren't ready to go up yet, the results alone show that. But in a way, I'd rather not do this season. This is the first time in a long time I can see some sort of plan at Ewood, and that is largely down to Mowbray. The players we've brought in, the team spirit, the gradual introduction of some of the youngsters - it's a far cry from dicking 80k on Etuhu and Murphy. The team needs help as Mowbray has said before, today it showed. But let's give the guy a chance to build a proper challenging championship team (the summer window and next Jan) before we start looking elsewhere.
  12. I'll take any of the 3 mentioned. It's clear we need another striker in the ilk of Graham. I'll be vastly disappointed if we end up with no-one. That's my only concern with this window. We have previous.
  13. He reminds me a lot of when we had Josh King. Frightens people when running at them, but invariably missed big chunks of the season through injury.
  14. Great challenge I thought. Thankfully backup.
  15. I'd be more worried about the fact it would only take our management team 4 months to come to that opinion after purchasing him for 7m (our almost recording signing). That would surely mean this scouting system we have is tripe.
  16. Wouldn't be totally surprised if we got another striker on a 6/12 month loan. We were looking at Brereton before Samuel got injured, depending on how serious it is, TM may think we need another to cover that injury.
  17. Probably because you responded with "who? Who? Who?" To the original post.
  18. I see your point, but he also played in the Dutch league and tried to transition the Premier League, 53 games in the league we're in is probably a different story.
  19. It's a lot of money for potential, but (From Wikipedia): Brereton was subsequently called up to represent England at the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.[14] In the group stage, he scored the winner against the Netherlands[15] and twice against Germany.[16] Brereton was a second-half substitute during the victory against Portugal in the final.[17] His total of three goals meant Brereton was joint top goalscorer at the tournament.[18] Brereton also played at the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, scoring his only goal of the tournament in the opening group stage match against Turkey.[19] You can't really argue that he hasn't delivered at the levels he's played at.
  20. Last post I can see is from Yoda's brother who said SSN reported Villa. Maybe crossed wires somewhere.
  21. Sorry J*B, not sure if that's a statement or a question. Have I missed something? Is Samba back training with us, or would you want that to be Mowbrays first decision?
  22. He wouldn't have been my first choice. Although if I'm honest, of the realistic targets, I didn't really have a first choice - says it all. Of the lot he's probably a half decent option. You're always going to struggle to find a manager who's not got a tainted record at some point with the probable candidates at our disposal. As an ex-defender, he should be able to set us up to stop shipping as many goals as we currently do. He's going to need all the luck in the world to get us out of this predicament. Considering the views aired by a number of WBA, Coventry and Boro fans, he's well liked and did ok with what he had. Good luck Tony.
  23. The best thing that can be said to this lad today is "go out and enjoy it." I hope Kean has the sense to say that to him.
  24. I thought the Coen Brothers pulled off a great remake in True Grit. Jeff Bridges does a grand job as Rooster Cogburn.
