  1. Expecting a full house on my bullshit bingo card if we stay up regardless of if we lose today

Togetherness, build together, a solid platform, miraculous escape, senior players character and courage, young squad, fantastic achievement that lays the groundwork for a bright future after a summer on the grass…

That said I expect roughly the same bs if we get relegated by 1 goal (my expectation)

If you mean why is it a 12:30 kick off, it is so that sky can put on numerous final day games on live tv without worrying about the 3pm tv blackout

Thanks. Pretty shabby to say the least but money talks.

on the plus side - maybe some non league clubs will get an extra few attending at 3pm today

first indication of nothing changing and no significant incomings  will be if gallagher gets a contract extension,if he gets ***** off it could be a good sign that there are some changes afoot, don`t want to go into next season with bloody gallagher leading the line

If he was on 5k PW and had signed for less than a million he would be a decent signing/player given our ambition of lower mid championship. For 5m and 15k (or more) PW then we could do better.

All told: if it is Telavovic or Gallagher then it is no longer a discussion… (although sometimes I wonder 😉)

can`t believe he was`nt on the bench and koumetio was, does eustace not rate him????

Probably told not to play him as the deal is structured so that every appearance means that we have to send 50p and a tin of spam to Crewe…

  5. So who decides the “preferred candidate”? Sounds very much like GB gives Waggot and Suhail a list with a few benefits/drawbacks and then they pick the cheapest or the one most likely to toe the line.

I’M guessing this is GBs new remit in order to keep his job after inadvertently appointing someone with ambition, demands and standards/integrity/balls…

Yeah I’m not really buying all this ‘yes man’ stuff.

JDT was an outlier in the way he just didn’t give a feck and went after whoever he pleased - and I loved him for it. But most people in football toe the line as they want to remain employable as it’s a very small, who you know industry, so by that barometer 99% of folk in the game are ‘yes men’, so you best get used to it.

Interesting that JDT has not mentioned the shitshow since leaving. Not a criticism of him but ironic that as an employee/contracted party he could speak more freely than as an ex employee/contracted partner.

Sums up the wacky world of football

Any updates on why he hasn't been starting? The team did. Well against soton but just wondering if I've missed something

Did you miss that he is carp? 😉🤣

I think JE (and others before him) don’t really trust Buckley in a 2 in midfield unless we have 5 at the back.

that said, if JRC and Tronstedt are fit then they are first choice on merit imo.

Chrisene, Moran and Buckley are all viable options to bring on. Personally I think Carter is significantly better than Hyam and S. Wharton too.

The big problem with our subs bench is that we don't have either a goal scorer or pace to bring on (we don't have either in the staring XI either beyond Szmodics).

Understand your point but in yesterday’s situation would you have brought any of those players on with around 20 mins left purely because the others were starting to tire?

  9. Made a deal with myself not to read or listen to him even after good results - the guy might not save our club but if he  has the players working like yesterday then fair dos as he is head coach not manager.

Yesterday also demonstrated what a shit show it is behind the scenes - not a single viable sub on the bench with 15 minutes left - zero options to freshen things up either mid game or to next game. People talk about protecting Sammie S but when the options are Buckley, Moran or Telavovic then it is much less clear cut.

TLDR don’t listen to his bullshit - you’ll probably be happier

I thought we were really good today - the press was excellent and we looked more of a team than we have in a while.

Plenty of positives: clean sheet / Brittain / defensive positions and tracking back / Tronstad excellent / Dolan good and Markanday impressed.

The negative for me was Gallagher. Works hard and does lots of good work, but he’s the point of failure in attack time after time. He just looks out of place when we attack.

But happy tonight. 4 points from the last 2 is a very good return.

Man of the Match Gallagher 🤔

  11. Pivotal moments - chrisene got away with losing the ball after getting it back from Pears.

Sunderland player slips - we take it off him and quality, clinical play/finish gives us the lead.

Ball goes out - whilst Sunderland players focus on that ball, we grab one of the “multi balls” and a bit of incisive play and finish makes it 2.

After the break we kept pushing and Gallagher got a bit fortunate with the bounce and Hedges finished clinically.

Perfect away performance but made me think back to games where we dominated but couldn’t score.
