Never ever play Moran in centre mid again !

Not centre mid - either right side of a three or just ahead of Buckley and Hyari. Ideally I’d want Tronstad involved but not likely and garret was just gash today. Moran has played well under JDT with quick, short interchanges and means we would have players that can (in theory) pick a pass. Shit or bust time imo

  2. An undeserved point, a great goal from SS and Hyari looking half decent are the only positives I can take from that.

We are going down unless we majorly fluke a result or someone else loses every match

Next match I’d consider Telavovic and SG with SS. Hyari, Buckley and Moran with a back four behind them.

Would be interesting if nothing else 🫣🥳

I still think the reason they carry the club now is because it sits comfortably in the VH group portfolio soaking up a lump of spare money some of which goes through the pipes elsewhere.  That has kind of been proven with what's going on now over there with the investigations etc.

Don't think that's why they bought it but that is what it became and as for betting i think if that goes on it's just a nice little perk from owning their plaything.

In the early days though i very much think some involved were in it for that very reason.

Nailed it - didn’t have to be Venky’s that benefited from any dodgy betting. But they may have facilitated it - knowingly or not they would still be seen to be culpable.

Far fetched? Being involved in match fixing and dodgy betting whilst ridiculous amounts are spent on wages and agents fees is still not as unbelievable as appointing K@#* and Coyle

As for the whole Shaw situation 🥳

    Fuck off useless.

Just add him to the list of shit cunts we've had in the dugout over the venkys era.

He belongs right there next to coyle.

Be nice - Hyamey, Gally’y, Hedgey, Pearsy and Brittney (sic) are much happier now that everything is the fans fault whilst not being forced to do stupid things like learn how to pass and control a football whilst still being exonerated for being crap at defending

Waiting for one of them or JE to raise our fantastic bus/coach…

    Regarding the betting posts previous…

Yeah the Indian market is big (declined a little recently with crack downs), but it certainly is not filtering into Championship football, and 100% is not filtering into shots on target or manager sackings / appointments which was quoted.
Remember that someone is taking the other side of the bet, do you really think they’d be willing to lay large amounts on Rovers in a Championship match in India?

If 4 bets in row for £20 were placed on Big Sam next manager to go at 33/1 the price would be cut instantly to single digits, that’s a liability of £2.5k - no firm anywhere is ending up with a huge red book or payouts of millions on those markets, and they’re not even offered in India

The majority of wagered money in India is cricket (see what turnover the exchange used to do on the IPL), the rest is lotteries / gaming.

I despite Venkys as much as the next poster, but the betting angle is a massive stretch.

The betting market has 2 angles - one is profit (anything even beyond evens given a known outcome is a ROI) and the other is to move money around without direct links.

Systematic betting fraud doesn’t need every transaction to get 33-1 - multiple bets all the way down to (and beyond) evens are winning bets if you know the outcome.

If money laundering is involved then even losing money deliberately as the bookie enters the picture…

To me this season has all the hallmarks of when they deliberately relegated us from the Premier League.

They've offloaded any decent players we have with only Szmodics to go in the summer.

They've managed to get shut of the manager that openly challenge, questioned and called out all of their bullshit.

They've hired a guy who's got absolutely no pedigree and an absolute yes man.

They've tried to once again shift the blame on to the fans.

We've been here before. Our relegation will be this year or the next and it is 100% deliberate. Just like it was when they first took over.

See Abbey’s post about betting in the V’s/HMRC thread and contemplate what odds would you have got on relegation after last season 🤔

    Never forget the 33 rumours.

Big Sam 33/1 to be fired

    Appleton next manager 33/1

Both had massive rumours beforehand of pune million mysterious bets. (Allegedly)

After last season - what odds would I have got betting on a Rovers relegation this season…

(ok - maybe even they aren’t stupid enough to do this whilst being investigated but… 🤫)

From reading between the lines I wonder if JDT (or the Swedish FA) actually paid to be released from his contract

    It's not though, is it.

We've been better defensively since he arrived. He's suffering from the same problems that JDT had - zero attacking options and a weak squad.

Selling A. Wharton and not replacing him was suicide.

Have we actually been better or has Pears been the difference? Any stats guys willing to compare xg against for the last 6 vs 6 games with Wahlstedt

For the hell of it, I have taken the last 5 games form, extrapolated and added a bonus 3 points for each team with a Rotherham game yet to play.

Here is 10th downwards (and it is down)

    Swansea 63pts

    Cardiff 61

    Birmingham 60

    Bristol City 59

    Sheffield Wednesday 59

    QPR 58

    Huddersfield 55

    Millwall 54

    Sunderland 53

    Plymouth 51

    Watford 50

    Middlesbrough 50

Stoke 50 Down on goal difference

    Rovers 45

    Rotherham 19

Nice job but giving us 3 points vs Rotherham may be a tad optimistic 🫢🫣

Seems no time at all since we were 10 points away from a relegation place and people were thinking we would be OK this season but would struggle next.

We are in a real dog-fight now. Is there enough fight left in the dog?

Not sure if we are a helpless puppy or an ailing old lab in the dog analogy.

    Fight - 🤣🫣

They couldn’t fight their way into a paper bag never mind out of one!

It’s amazing what Tuesday night has done for confidence - I can’t see us loosing this one for some strange reason.

Id love a win but think a draw is on the cards here - a clean sheet would be Lovely.

Being a Rovers fan has given me great Pleasure at times but a also a very pessimistic view…

I think today will be the day when all the bounces go against us, probably a penalty against and either a worldie or a “fell on his arse and the ball bounced off him to deceive Pears” type.

    2-0 Swansea I fear but I hope I’m wrong

    To a degree.

Buckley made a difference; we moved the ball a lot better when he came on and controlled possession more.

The same old problems were there though, mainly that for all the possession, we just don't get the ball in the box anywhere near enough.

I was happy with the result though. A point on the road, when you're scrapping away near the bottom, is a good point.

Last night highlighted why implementing a plan b is not easy against teams that sit back. With SG off, and no Hedges the last 20 were “JDT” football. If Telavovic was trusted and we dared go to a back 4 then we could have just bombarded their box.

That it didn’t/can’t/won’t happen under current circumstances I can fully understand given the players available and our shocking record of conceding late goals.
