  1. Problem is he can walk for free next summer.
  2. Yes, I'm aware we don't reinvest so based on that I agree with the majority in here. My suggestion was only in a scenario where we reinvest most, if not all of, the transfer fee received for young Trav.
  3. Ok, putting my head in the chopping blocks here: I think we can part with Travis if we get £3m or more for him. We'll then have to reinvest that money smartly on a new midfielder that can slot straight into Travs position. He had a great season last year but I don't think he's irreplacable and his stock has never been higher at 27.
  4. We need pace. It will give us options when we need to alter things during games. That alone will free up space for his teammates whenever De Neve is on the pitch. Anyone remember Reda Khadra?
  5. Will pass judgement once the window is shut but history tells us it's gonna be another long summer.
  6. Do you have links to those interviews, by any chance?
  7. Jackson is merely reporting what's going on. We've let too many players go for free so I think it's sensible from the club's pov to grab a fee while we can. I'm sure he's being touted around by his agent and has better offers than what he's getting here. Would be great if we can renew his contract but I fully expect Brittain to leave this window after the season's he's just had.
  8. Why do we need to bring in significant cash? Not being reinvested anyway, is it?
  9. Poor finisher, poor tactically but wears his heart on his sleeve and can be unplayable on his day. We need better, but a valuable squad member.
  10. True, at the same time they are quite slow and means we have to adjust to that factor in our pressing and general team shape. Batth had a great season for us and we should definitely try and sign him on for another year.
  11. Today was fun! A cup final feeling and we did well against a side that had a 15-3-4 record at home and ended the season 24 points ahead of us. Not our best performance, obviously, but at least we tried. Overall it's disappointing to fall one point short of the play-offs but that point wasn't lost today, it was lost in January. Last season we beat Leicester on the final day to stay up, this season we have never looked like being relegated. Unfortunate that we didn't build on our position in January, and unfortunate that we haven't renewed more contracts, and unfortunate that not more youth players are making the grade. Must've been some experience being at the stadium. Loud and proud.
  12. Dolan did a lot of running under Eustace but we struggled to find an outlet most of the time as we were sitting so low. The last few games he's really shone under Ismael and shown he can definitely do a job here. He's better suited to the high press and a lot better ball carrier than he gets credit for. I've been highly critical of Dolan many times, but have had a bit of a wake-up call lately. Might be the separation anxiety kicking in - I don't know.
  13. Wonder if Gueye will leave. Not well suited for the high press and limited potential.
  14. He'll probably go abroad and then get loaned or sold back to England within a year. Easy money.
  15. They are dogshite away from home. Will be heavy favourites against Preston. If we manage to win against a Blades side resting before the play-offs, then I think we'll make it though. It's a shame that a draw isn't enough, but might also be a blessing in disguise as we won't play it safe and have to go for the win.
  16. Not celebrating anything. Not good enough defending and we need a revamped squad come August. Tronstad proved a point tonight. Absolute immense.
  17. Not many of that starting eleven are good enough unfortunately.
  18. He can't blame the players so has to say something. Five defeats in a row... at least we know which division we'll be in next season Rudy...
  19. Form dropped off once Trav got injured and then Tronstad.
  20. Have you seen the players he's had at his disposal? We had two proper players on the bench tonight in Tronstad and Ohashi. The squad needs a serious revamp and we started the season with a squad that got stretched too thin. So many injuries and it's no surprise when every decision is all about penny pinching.
  21. It's a slow painful death, a bit like life. 😉
