  1. Wharton might excel in friendlies against Accrington Stanley and the likes, but he wasn't good enough to start before his latest injury and most certainly isn't now. He's a good squad player, if he can keep himself fit.
  2. Telalovic was down the list of options and we had tried to sign better strikers all summer before we ended up with him. I suspect we're about to experience a bit of the same this summer.
  3. Another BBD scenario. They'll ship him back to England for a profit within the next 12 months.
  4. When our workhorses went missing through injury we couldn't hold it together any longer. Travis, Tronstad and Ohashi, plus Brittain, do a tremendous amount of running, and are all integral to the team. Gueye works hard but with his big physique he can't move around as well as Ohashi and he doesn't always apply it in the best way; makes silly fouls and isn't as tactically aware in the pressing.
  5. I’m not. He’s on hefty wages and did not perform under Eustace while they both were here.
  6. In hindsight it’s a shame we couldn’t keep Ash Phillips. He would’ve been a regular here by now and worth a lot more than what Spurs paid for him. Haven’t noticed McLoughlin much whenever I’ve seen Hull play, but it’s obvious that he’s not our first choice.
  7. It's not about what we're losing, it's about what we're not replacing. But judge the window once it's shut, and not now, although the signs are pointing in a familiar direction to a place that smells.
  8. No name leaked yet on the winger we have bid for?
  9. The club has its spreadsheet showing what it will cost to renew too early. Only a few months exceptions to the rule in Wharton and Szmodics, and if Hyam renews his deal we know for sure it won’t be on better terms.
  10. Hyam will probably be happy to extent on his current terms whereas Tronstad they are probably lowballing and Travis will definitely want a pay-rise. Can’t believe our luck sometimes also… stress fracture. How severe can it be if he didn’t notice?
  11. The Championship is loco, you could say that about any manager and be right more often than not.
  12. Travis and Brittain probably have a few offers elsewhere and know their worth, whereas Tronstad is a bit older and on probably pretty good wages considering it was negotiated by the egg and he came in on a free - also doesn't mind running down his contract again one would think. Hyam also has one year left so and I can't think of any other club that regularly lets so many starters leave on a free. Makes zero business sense, eh?
  13. Probably his agent planting a news story, more than anything.
  14. One year left on his contract so we're only chasing deals like that, and other discounting factors re Mannsverk, but guessing the total package for Mannsverk is a lot higher than for this chap. Won't judge the window until it's shut.
  15. Can’t see us bringing in Mannsverk and keeping both Trav and Tronstad. I think it makes sense if we can replace Trav with like for like transfer fee considering he’s out of contract in twelve months.
  16. Ajax bought Mannsverk for around Β£5.8m so will probably want 2-2.5m on a failed transfer? I think he'd be a really good signing but also worried that is it for Travis. I wouldn't mind a midfield pairing of Tronstad and Mannsverk though, to be honest.
  17. Dolan is an honest pro and I don't blame him for seeking other adventures, and he'll probably start a lot of games under Eustace at Derby. Think he'll disappear like Nyambe did.
  18. No surprise, at least we'll get a compensation for Dolan in that case. Survival signings.
  19. Sure but not because he scored a couple of goals. Money talks... All our deals are cheap or free, there's a snag in the contract or something else that makes us attempt to get a good value player for less than his worth, it seems.
  20. Clean sheets > goals For a central defender.
  21. No way Pickering can play LCB when we play two CB’s.
  22. Batth played a bigger role than expected with Hayden Carter injured more often than not. RCB we have Hyam and Carter, and LCB we have <new signing> plus S. Wharton as backup, with Pickering and youngster being able to slot it. While Batth had a great season and was a contenter for player of the season, I wouldn't offer him a two-year deal. We have plenty of experienced players in the squad, and hopefully the ones left have learned a lot from Batth.
