  1. No adjustment here Eustace. FFS Running down blind alleys. Painful to watch.
  2. And that's saying something. I'd put Ayari on here, even if it's out wide. So many forced passes. Keep it going and get Buckley more on the ball but stop with the early cross-field balls; go at them.
  3. Poor half that. Wasted a good 45 mins. Get Dolan off, not a team player.
  4. Offloading Wharton and Travis in the midst of a relegation battle is borderline criminal. Surely heads will roll if we go down.
  5. I agree. Newcastle was a game where we had a lot less pressure though. We're set up now to make fewer personal mistakes and take a lot less risks. Considering that, it's quite a feat to be able to do what Moran did in the first 20 minutes of the game at Swansea. I can't remember which game it was, but he made bad mistake earlier in the season as well and shook it off well - but also no apologies or regret shown so would let him start on the bench.
  6. Trademark Rovers would be to offer Fleck a new 2-year deal now because they feel bad for him getting injured while playing in a Rovers shirt - and not gettingt he opportunity to show the fans how good he is.
  7. We need to try and keep our composure and avoid getting dragged into their realm. It's on our turf so they're the ones that should be intimidated. Start on the front-foot, keep possession in areas where it's 'safe'. Be positive and play the ball forward, and avoid getting countered. Work like dogs. Pears Hyam - McFadzean - Wharton Brittain - Tronstad (alt. Ayari) - Buckley - Pickering Dolan - Szmodics - Gallagher
  8. Jury's still out. Made the right substitutions on Saturday but we don't have many strings to play on at the moment. Surprised that he chose Buckley and Moran and not Ayari for the latter, as he had a real positive game versus Newcastle. Moran has made some errors earlier in the season so half guessing he was due a start or we would have to pay Brighton. We struggle to keep a hold of the ball, and although there's hard work now we look lost when going forward. A lot of players look nervy and afraid to make mistakes so it's hoofball and a lot of adventurous passes instead of waiting for the right time to cross/pass. Against Newcastle we had little to lose so that's the difference from playing in the league. Just hope Eustace can instill some confidence in the group as it's not just about defending. Needs to get more out of Szmodics.
  9. Hope Tronstad is back for this one. If not I would start Ayari alongside Buckley. Garrett struggles too much positionally.
  10. Moran definitely has potential too. Thought he was excellent last night, but he's been blowing hot and cold all season and if only he could weight his passes properly. Both the Brighton lads are only 20 years old so can't expect either to be the finished article yet. Pears said his lay-off hade made him a better goalkeeper as he had focused on strengthening other parts of his game. I tend to agree. Better kicking and looks more confident to me. Repeating myself here but if he had been between the sticks all season, we wouldn't have been near the relegation zone.
  11. I agree. Showed some aggression too, which I didn't know was part of his game. The referee made some bad calls when he was involved, and didn't have the best game in my opinion.
  12. Counting the pens, out of all the great performances tonight, Dubravka was probably the best player on the pitch.
  13. Might be a blessing in disguise as we really need to get some points on the board in the league. Ultra tight... Swansea will have had a lot more time to rest up and prepare for Saturday. The two home games following that will be the crucial ones.
  14. A worry that Sam came off with a calf injury though. We were stretched coming in, we're worse coming out of it.
  15. Cruel game. Thought we subbed ourselves out of the game, but wonderful comeback. A little strange that Sammie plays every minute of every game and if he gets injured we're relegated. Some gamble that. Can be proud of tonight. Don't criticise anyone for missing a pen in this situation, take one yourself. The smirk on Shearers face. Fuck off. Tough to choose a MOTM tonight, a lot of fantastic performances. Good night.
  16. It makes us less flexible in terms of style, that's quite evident now with how we're struggling to relieve pressure.
  17. Fadz is quicker than Hyam. Overall our current team is the slowest we've had for a number of years.
  18. We don't have an outlet any longer like we did in Arma, Khadra and Brereton. On another note I thought the ref today was soft as...
  19. 1-1 a fair result. 'Of course' they score a fantastic freekick against us... Thought we adjusted well in the second half, and we're a lot more solid now. Great goal by Hyam but he gets found out 1vs1 defensively. At least we have good cover now with three at the back, even though it's a difficult task for our central midfielders. That's why we can't control games... In this system it would be great if we could have one of either McFadz or Hyam to slot into the anchor role when we're on the ball, but neither are good enough for that role. Hope we can nick a win here and there to not put too much pressure on the fixtures that stick out.
  20. Neither side risked much really. Dull draw but we'll take it at this stage. The home games versus Millwall, Plymouth and Sheff W. stand out as the must win matches from now and until the end of the season.
