  1. The club has its spreadsheet showing what it will cost to renew too early. Only a few months exceptions to the rule in Wharton and Szmodics, and if Hyam renews his deal we know for sure it won’t be on better terms.
  2. Hyam will probably be happy to extent on his current terms whereas Tronstad they are probably lowballing and Travis will definitely want a pay-rise. Can’t believe our luck sometimes also… stress fracture. How severe can it be if he didn’t notice?
  3. The Championship is loco, you could say that about any manager and be right more often than not.
  4. Travis and Brittain probably have a few offers elsewhere and know their worth, whereas Tronstad is a bit older and on probably pretty good wages considering it was negotiated by the egg and he came in on a free - also doesn't mind running down his contract again one would think. Hyam also has one year left so and I can't think of any other club that regularly lets so many starters leave on a free. Makes zero business sense, eh?
  5. Probably his agent planting a news story, more than anything.
  6. One year left on his contract so we're only chasing deals like that, and other discounting factors re Mannsverk, but guessing the total package for Mannsverk is a lot higher than for this chap. Won't judge the window until it's shut.
  7. Can’t see us bringing in Mannsverk and keeping both Trav and Tronstad. I think it makes sense if we can replace Trav with like for like transfer fee considering he’s out of contract in twelve months.
  8. Ajax bought Mannsverk for around Β£5.8m so will probably want 2-2.5m on a failed transfer? I think he'd be a really good signing but also worried that is it for Travis. I wouldn't mind a midfield pairing of Tronstad and Mannsverk though, to be honest.
  9. Dolan is an honest pro and I don't blame him for seeking other adventures, and he'll probably start a lot of games under Eustace at Derby. Think he'll disappear like Nyambe did.
  10. No surprise, at least we'll get a compensation for Dolan in that case. Survival signings.
  11. Sure but not because he scored a couple of goals. Money talks... All our deals are cheap or free, there's a snag in the contract or something else that makes us attempt to get a good value player for less than his worth, it seems.
  12. Clean sheets > goals For a central defender.
  13. No way Pickering can play LCB when we play two CB’s.
  14. Batth played a bigger role than expected with Hayden Carter injured more often than not. RCB we have Hyam and Carter, and LCB we have <new signing> plus S. Wharton as backup, with Pickering and youngster being able to slot it. While Batth had a great season and was a contenter for player of the season, I wouldn't offer him a two-year deal. We have plenty of experienced players in the squad, and hopefully the ones left have learned a lot from Batth.
  15. I've been a big critic of Dolan but he had his best season in a Rovers shirt last season. He tries hard and more usual than not, he has an impact on the game because he grabs the bull by both its horns and has a go. But he's also highly ineffective in his decision-making, as well as in his final delivery. He shouldn't be too hard to replace but I won't say he won't be missed until I see who we line up with in his place.
  16. And Wharton shouldn’t be any more than a squad player either.
  17. Could be we’re planning to play 3-5-2
  18. 7 yellow cards in 29 matches for Tavares. Perfect replacement for Trav.
  19. Survival obviously the target. Two underwhelming really cheap signings so far. If that frees up money for someone else, then so be it, but think we're running on survival mode and we're skint with the never-ending Venky's trial. Hope they sell.
  20. Always a hero here. He played competitive matches and scored as well, before leaving.
  21. Would he risk it with his playing style? If he stays then that's more down to the club than him imo, but you never know. Since we're seemingly a bit more desperate for cash these days, my guess is he leaves for an undisclosed fee (Β£2.5m).
  22. We got a fee for Eustace and were on a bad skid, so they probably didn’t mind him going at all.
  23. Problem is he can walk for free next summer.
