  1. Might as well blame Cantwell if you're pointing fingers at de Neve. We invited the pressure and looked nervous but still gutting. We look like a team capable of staying up, but injuries can continue to pile on and there are suspensions, poor run of form (this isn't it) etc. Really wanted to beat McKenna and his team tonight!
  2. The problems really start when the players that are supposed to come on and see games out are now starting matches, and our bench aren't qualified for the job. I'm sure Rovers are working tirelessly on getting rid of Gueye in January to bring a new striker in. We also need a RWB if Alebiosu leaves for AFCON, and definitely a central defender. Wouldn't mind a winger either.
  3. As a defender you never want to run towards your own goal with the long ball over the top. But we invited pressure on ourselves and with our recent history of conceding late it's getting increasingly tough to ride the pressure off. Some really good performances have turned into heartbreak this season, but when you look at tonight's game how many times did we really threaten Walton? Ipswich looked as comfortable as we did against QPR; shit all night but not too troubled. Positive that we're looking a lot better on set-pieces. Need to sign bodies in January.
  4. Just when I thought I couldn't handle any more... Lost our shape and composure once we we took the lead. I wouldn't have subbed on Gueye, I don't think he deserves another minute for this team. Some great performances. We were the far better side but we didn't create too many chances so 1-1 isn't a robbery. It's a bit strange that we sub on the same players that can't hold onto a lead again. I realise Hedges was knackered but Gudjohnsen surely could've continued?
  5. Crewe must be due a payment if he plays a few more matches. Doesn't make sense that he hardly ever gets any minutes.
  6. Put him up against Moore towards the end.
  7. Fuck off ref. Such a soft free kick to hand them. Good effort.
  8. I'd give this post a hundred likes if I could. Makes no sense. I'm sure they'll offer him the same terms on a one-year deal at the most...would love for him to stay on, been a really solid player for us.
  9. No engine in the engine room without Tronstad. Cantwell is our playmaker but Tronstad is what makes us tick when he's on song and the players around him are awake and aware of their surrondings (unlike last night).
  10. Doesn't take much to get into this team atm.
  11. Baradji was the only one who half resembled a player. Guess which one we don't own?
  12. I agree regarding Pratt, but: He's obviously playing a very low-risk game, and with McLoughlin in the middle he doesn't quite get the angles he would normally get in the wide LCB position. He's the best passer out of the three CB's tonight, and we struggle to get going when Miller is so sloppy and Pratt plays it so safe. Disappointing night but didn't think that performance warranted a clean sheet.
  13. Second could've pulled it back in the oppposite corner. First one a little push but inside the six-yard box. The sum of those two goals warrants at least one goal. Not good enough tonight, although both our frontment were left with scraps for the most part.
  14. Not sure how Gudjohnsen managed to miss both thos chances.
  15. Anyone's game this, they took their chance. Poor from Miller who got away with a lot of stray passes tonight. de Neve looked nervy, poor defending by him.
  16. Would they take a significant loss in their books if they sold us (with a loss)? Previously they've said categorically that we're not for sale, now it's different tune. I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon, but within the next five years I believe we'll have different owners.
  17. Did Gardner-Hickman receive his yellow after yet another misplaced Miller pass or is my memory deceiving me? Same as Tronstad on Tuesday...
  18. Yeah, our run of bad form usually kicks in about this time of the season. What's up with Tavares? Unbelievable that he didn't made the bench today if he's not out with injury (which is bad in itself).
  19. Crazy that they haven't released the anniversary kit. Bonkers. Mad.
  20. Russell Martin is a terrible manager, I'd almost take Steve Kean back over him.
  21. Allardyce managed us in a period when the Walker trust wanted rid and injected the mandatory £5m per year or whatever it was. I thought he assembled a good squad and we had a team where there was room for some great individuals as well. Eustace probably actually had worse support, but we went from being a team comfortable in possession to 'deer in headlights once we received the ball' overnight. Broughton and JDT gave me some hope that we might turn this around, but then we were back to being Rovers again...
  22. Kendall was before my time. I like Allardyce, top coach who had a lot of modern ideas when it came to nutrition, stats etc.
  23. Total mis-management to play Wharton as much as we have since he's come back. But squad is so thin it's scary.
