  1. The timing to take over this club now is pretty good. We are (still) in the Championship and 'new owners come to the rescue in the 150 year anniversary season'. Would make for some great PR. Finances can't be all that bad either compared to some of the others clubs in the division.
  2. Would never have happened under this guy:
  3. Not much to get excited about these days. We might grind out some results but it's not going to be pretty, and all over a side full of average joe's. Poor substitutions.
  4. Yeah, it's not gonna look pretty, is it. Low tempo, boring stuff today, but of course a little excitement when Cantwell scored and then trying to see the game out. Thought the pen looked correct on TV, and the second was just a total shambles when we were pushing for the win. We did not deserve to lose, but can't say it was convincing either with 41/59 possession in their favour. How many more of this can I endure?
  5. Yeah, expected him to impress like he did during midweek but he found it a lot harder against a standard Championship side.
  6. The club holds all the power unfortunately - not uncommon in football and sports journalism with this kind of behaviour. In the end the biggest question will be answered when we see what our squad looks like once the transfer window is shut.
  7. Can you elaborate on what's going on with the lawsuit?
  8. How long to you think Gestede will last?
  9. There's a risk involved here as well, playing 46 Championship matches plus cup football and training sessions with no job security past the next (less than) twelve months. Hyam is a standard level Championship defender who just had a great season compared to the one before. Adjusted for inflation and put a promotion bonus clause in there and it shouldn't be too hard to sign.
  10. I don't think Hyam should get much of a bump. Adjust his wages for inflation and I think it's a decent offer based on what he contributes to the team.
  11. Feel sorry for Travis after reading that. Loyal servant. But if Derby are offering life changing money to him, then they shouldn't chuck £1.5m at Rovers.
  12. Toth Miller - Hyam - McLoughlin - Ribeiro Hedges - Tronstad - Tavares - Cantwell - Kargbo Ohashi
  13. Travis is leaving and we're replacing him like for like, plus we're chasing a RW. If we sell any of our other players they're supposedly being replaced. So yes, there are things happening - but careful what you wish for because they will all be net negative.
  14. No, I wasn’t. I was just stating that there will be academy players in the matchday squad every fixture this season.
  15. That's beside the point because we will still have academy products making the matchday squad in Michalski, Wharton, Carter, Tyjon, Montgomery and Leonard. Buckley is still in the squad, so is Travis for the time being. From the U21's Atcheson and Mullarkey-Matthews will probably make a few md squads as well,
  16. Streak will remain intact, for sure. Several academy products still in the squad.
  17. It should've been 2-2 as Ohashi missed a sitter. Then who knows what would've been next. Rovers are a step up for Kargbo though, so we definitely didn't purchase the finished article.
  18. What's the sum of all parts in the Rovers team at the moment, if Travis isn't playing? Total transfer fees paid for our starting eleven must be a lot less than £10m?
  19. Did Ismael prove a point by playing de Neve in two posisions? First showing how ineffective he's in his natural position at LM/LW, then how he was a duck out of water on the right. Some baffling substitutions last night that tells me Ismael was more worried about some of his starters than the result.
  20. A shame for Tyjon who could've used the Carabao as a stepping stone into the first team, but like last season we went out early. I'd be tempted to sell him for £1m if that's Arsenal's offer and used the funds to strengthen our best 15. Can't see him getting much playing time in a struggling team unless Cantwell leaves.
  21. I liked Ismael speaking the truth. Just wish it wasn’t all bad news…
  22. Loves to cuddle with the ball and look pretty, but he can’t be effective in two places on the pitch at the same time. Has to be that he doesn’t listen to instructions because he wants to drive the team to win and thinks he has to do it all himself. Underwhelmed by him in the whole tbh.
  23. Cantwell hardly got forward and gave them a big chance. Can’t remember him turning a game around for us ever.
  24. Bradford rotated six players as well so no excuses. We are shit going forward and don’t have the right players to dominate teams. The subs were pre-planned and proof is that Montgomery stayed on for that long when he played to a 1 out of 10 rating. How many times did we gift them glorious oppurtunities? Still, we should’ve had at least two goals. I liked the looks of Miller, Tavares and (at times) Henriksson.
