Did you see in the video when he met Baradji and realised they had stayed in the same hotel? 😂 I think Ismael is all about togetherness as well, but thinks he instills more dicipline and demands more in training than Eustace. We will see if that means more tired legs/injuries and some players on the fringe who become unhappy like under JDT, or if him and his team can keep the group together. I wouldn't mind an out and out winger to play on the right still, but most wanted at the moment is a striker so Leonard can leave. A central midfielder to replace Buckley and Trav and whoever else leaves has to be replaced like for like. I think re-signing Forshaw is a mistake and he will retire or leave in January, but we will see - hopefully he's not on big wages.

Exit Gueye and enter Soumano - yes please. Big changes to the squad this summer, hope they all gel and hit the ground running. Much needed addition of trickery/flair and pace into the squad, and a lot more adventurous in the market than before.

Correct 🙂 But also that we're chasing a CM to replace Bucko/Trav and a striker could come in as well. I'm guessing we're searching for CB's too, and if there's a suitable option available, then Hyam leaves this window.

My interpretation of that statement was that there's a set budget and plans for x incomings and x outgoings. Any 'surprise' additional exits on top of that will need to be replaced, so that's like for like (or less), and that's a seperate budget generated by the mentioned sales. I doubt we will sell Hyam unless we have someone lined up. Same for Tronstad and Hedges but their market value are lower (because of their age) and will cost us less to keep until next summer.

More of our players are linked away too, @ruggles1995 so it's a double-edged sword. Hope we can get an announcement tomorrow for the Japanese lad.

Afolayan seems versatile so Gueye out Afolayan out and he can play upfront if Yuki is injured or needs a rest. Or a PL youngster. Not the scenario I would want happen, but can see us bringing in someone on deadline day to fill the gap if the rumours of Gueye to Emirates are true. I'd take Dennis back if it's a cheap deal, I think he was poor last season but hasn't played much and there's a really good player there. Not sure if his attitute stinks or not, but Ismael will be the judge on that. Dennis can play out wide and upfront if needed too. We need to loan out Leonard in any case - he needs regular men's football, preferably in League One.

Can't sign a foreign player to replace Hyam, so Colin Rösler could be a possibility as he's eligible to represent England. The Kapuadi ship has sailed and gone.

He's probably happy but not happy enough to sign a contract offer on the same terms as he's on now. Can't sell him before we have a replacement ready.

Excellent. Looked the better team for the entire match and Hull apparantly have played some good stuff up until now, and are a good home side with recent history on their side when facing Rovers. We continued in the same manner as versus Birmingham. We look very well organised and every player works hard as long as they're on the pitch, including Cantwell who really has lit up after being made captain. Special mention to Hedges who has been getting a lot of flack on here. He's been top drawer last couple of matches, so hopefully him (and everyone else) can stay fit for a prolonged period now.

McLoughlin just joined and Tronstad won't get picked as captain with his deal nearing its end as well.

It's football. Easy to say this in hindsight but they probably thought he had more promise than what proved to be the case, and that he would be in and around the first team by the new year.

The timing to take over this club now is pretty good. We are (still) in the Championship and 'new owners come to the rescue in the 150 year anniversary season'. Would make for some great PR. Finances can't be all that bad either compared to some of the others clubs in the division.

Yeah, it's not gonna look pretty, is it. Low tempo, boring stuff today, but of course a little excitement when Cantwell scored and then trying to see the game out. Thought the pen looked correct on TV, and the second was just a total shambles when we were pushing for the win. We did not deserve to lose, but can't say it was convincing either with 41/59 possession in their favour. How many more of this can I endure?
