  1. Smells of a little mutiny during HT here. Change of formation, two subs (Mowbray hardly ever make them at half time). After he said it wasn't about formation but about execution and that they hadn't prepared because the game came so soon the huge disappointment versus Bristol City. I don't know, just speculating. Johnno might have subbed himself off but at least the right subs were made. Players were tired, and so was Mowbray. Vital match before a good period of training coming up.
  2. Well done turning this around. Great that Tony acknowledged something had to be done formation-wise here.
  3. We look deflated after the run we've had. Probably feel like they've had a run of bad luck. But Mowbray has to adjust when we're not creating chances, and he hasn't.
  4. Derby looking like they're the ones playing at home here.
  5. Why is Rothwell playing deep and Johnno false 9? Everyone knows he can carry the ball but he's also a lot better at pressing and can win the ball further up the field with Dolan and Khadra. Losing my patience with Tony (again) here.
  6. Looking like it's going to be a long night filled with pain and agony. Not pressing high, no precision and Johnno as the false no. 9.
  7. Kaminiski Lenihan - van Hecke - Wharton JRC - Buckley - Travis - Rothwell - Pickering Giles - Dolan - Khadra Gallagher for Khadra if needed, tell him to play an old fashioned forward role. Get in the box, hold the ball up - pass it. Don't run into, and get stuck in, channels by yourself. Buckley and Rothwell looked lively versus Millwall. Hoping Giles can continue improving as he has something in him.
  8. Hugely disappointing. Millwall showed us great respect by dropping deeper in the second half and going for the counter only. Gallagher, Bucko and JRC have to score those. Buckley looked a lot fresher again tonight, links up well with Rothwell. A game suited for Dack this one...
  9. Kaminski big mistake on a day he had to be perfect. Zeefuik broke down again, very disappointing. He has potential to be a fan favourite, but looks like a downgrade from Nyambe. JRC was a lot better than in his previous couple of matches. Johnson looked assured in midfield. Fulham were a lot better than us in the first half. Looked like they took their foot off the pedal in the second, but we did better nonetheless. Gallagher had a better half than Khadra, but doesn't look much of a threat. Fulham great at working combinations and creating gaps when our central three got pulled out of position. All in all deserved win for the home side, as we needed margins on our side for this one. Results in other matches were pretty good today, but it will be a dogfight for the play-off places. I hope we can avoid Huddersfield before the final, I think they look the strongest currently. Great duel between Mitro and van Hecke today.
  10. Really feel for Nyambe. I hope for his sake he has signed a pre-contract or it now means he can agree terms with Rovers. He's such a good player at this level. Zeefuik was immense when he came on too. Didn't watch the full game, but listened to the first half and saw the chances before tuning in for the second. Deserved win and some really good work from the front three. Kaminski rock solid when callled upon and great display again from each and every player. Highs and lows
  11. They dominated the first half and should have been ahead. It's back to not being ready when the game kicks off. Other than that I agree. But where are the goals going to come from? Need to find the right balance, and as I have posted numerous times I don't like Buckley as a false nine. Gallagher, Buckley and Khadra lack anticipation.
  12. Came off his line early but no VAR unfortunately.
  13. We were never going to make automatic promotion. But it's all about inches and we can't concede against ten men. Khadra puts the pen away and it's game over. This will be a tough one to swallow for the group. Just hope they can lift their spirits as they battled well (again) against an in-form side.
  14. Devastated. We have one outlet on the counter and that's Khadra. Gallagher works hard and Buckley useful when they went down to ten men. Don't like this setup, we hardly create anything. Been a long time since we scored from a set piece too, Sheffield United taught a lesson on set pieces. They're a nasty team though. Great ref, they could have had more yellows and another red though, but no complaints.
  15. I hope Pickering gets the nod and Giles gets pushed forward with Gallagher in the middle. We haven't created much with Buckley as a false nine, so time to change things around. Let Khadra play on the right, and Buckley at CM alongside Trav. Millwall are a physical side so need battlers ready to come on from the bench; no Hedges (again).
  16. I really feel for Nyambe. An academy product, great pro. Must be his agent that's pissing Mowbray off, Rhino seems a quietish likable lad.
  17. He's been in fine form this season, and will probably get a much needed rest soon with suspension anyway. Better second half. A draw a fair result. WBA were there for the taking, we didn't bite tonight unfortunately. Haven't looked ourselves lately - or have we? Hope Breo isn't anything serious.
  18. A shame that Ayala couldn't start. A massive weakened eleven when JRC starts instead. WBA are there for the taking, can't believe we're still playing Buckley upfront after watching the last couple of (ineffective) games with the same setup. Put Sam in the middle and Khadra on for Buckley, or drop JRC and let Bucko play RWB. Need to make changes before we have to chase the game, Tony.
  19. Hedges for Zeefuik was an all or nothing move almost at the death. Other than that it was like for like in terms of formation. Sam was subbed on just when Lenihan was sent off, so naturally there will be a little bit of confusion at that moment. Still, we were the better team in the second half. Buckley's missed two sitters now, that's the difference between us losing and still sitting in second. It's also the difference that would take his game to the next level.
  20. Didn't look unsettled tonight, ran his socks off.
  21. We started poorly and Forest deserved to take the lead. Thought our match against Swansea was proof enough that Buckley shouldn't start upfront. We fought well tonight, makes it especially disappointing that our captain gets himself sent off like that. We can moan as much as we'd like about the ref, but I've seen worse.
