I think JDT was naive when picking his side vs Reading, thinking we could dance around their physicality. JDT proved how weak the squad was with that performance, I’m sure our first eleven would have fared better - even with young Ash at CB.

I think we'll be happy scraping along this season. The signings so far don't scream ambition of play-offs to me, and Broughton also stressed it will take time to become a 'sustainable PL club'. So season 1 of this project will be lower to mid table with little excitement I think. I hope we hold out for £20m for BBD, that's what he's worth when looking at the fees the big guns are paying these days.

He'd block Phillips more by signing on a permanent deal. Short term Phillips probably needs a loan or two.

If I was third choice behind Vale and Dolhan I’d be upset too. I think Dack needs to be eased back into things, but probably should have been given a few minutes yesterday. JDT won’t appreciate that kind of behaviour though; he’s all about the ‘there’s no I in team’.

Dack isn't fully fit, so better to match him carefully.
