  1. Followed by a death spiral which included 2 runs of no wins in 5 games and an 8th position finish, outside the playoffs.
  2. We only had one player, Bright, capable of knocking any of them over. The Nigerians romped home to win the foul count.
  3. Thing is when one door closes coaches would then work on getting a new door opened. They will work on it with their players and in no time it's the new norm. It's been like this for ever.
  4. That was a decent game and well done to the Aussie ladies, good win for the team, Country and the WC. They have some good footballers and pace. Denmark gave it a go in the second half, before that they were predictably boring.
  5. Big Red Nose likes it ... a lot.
  6. It was a penalty. The actual foul started outside the box, continued into the box and ended with an elbow shove in the back. There was no clear and obvious error. Despite what the prick Clattenberg might say. Subjective ... Bollocks. We got away with one, Nigeria were stronger as the game went on and the ref more accomodating to their physical game. How was the overhead kick not dangerous play? She knew she was in close proximity to defenders. Nigeria, there's a plane at the airport waiting for you.
  7. Ellen was a goal scoring threat all the time and what we now lack. That and real pace.
  8. We are absolutely dominating the ball, the big ladies of Nigeria are dominating the physical side of the game. With Russo onfield we lacked a competent finisher nevermind that her hold up play is good. James, you stupid stupid girl. Just fuck off and have a cry.
  9. Nigeria are a roughhouse pub team made up of tall people. Penalty turned down and Nigeria get the ball. So it was never a foul? For certain the same incident anywhere else on the field would have been given as a foul. For years I have wondered how the Nigerian scam money was then spent. Thing is in football it only takes one good shot or a bit of luck to win a game. Russo is a disappointment so far in this tournament, she messes up the chances she gets. Finally Clattenberg is a fucking prick.
  10. France are not too shabby. Anyone left at the QFs is a real threat, England are no where near top form yet and hopefully gaining form as this progresses. We have to beat Nigeria before the QFs.
  11. It took me a while, hope it works https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/results Manually select season 23/24
  12. Travis was receiving, turning and passing on very well today and much quicker than previously.
  13. Delighted for JDT and his team, the players and us, the fans. No better way to start than with a win. All the Rovers players put a great shift in and that graft got us home in good order. All 3 goals although all good finishes had their origin in sloppy play at the back, poor passing by keepers and defenders resulting in loss of possession, fast breaks and goals. Travis was MoM for me and Leonard had an good game, he should have scored at least 2 but will another day. Also Hyam and Szmodics were good.
  14. Yes, and telling it like it is. I've warmed a hell of a lot to him since he arrived when my scepticism thrived.
  15. I more or less took a sabbatical over the transfer window, posting little but reading threads on here a lot, but now it's match day. Clean slate for all our remaining players and I hope their pride wants success as much as their personal development. I am sure it will and am absolutely sure that JDT wants success on his terms. For our younger players getting into the team or matchday squad is a sure sign of personal development whatever our recruitment is doing under the prevailing difficult and imho strange circumstances. It's going to be interesting season and a winning start would help calm us all.
  16. I won't go out of my way to watch it, it's just a repeat T20 with odd rules that just fecks up the English cricket calendar. It will die a death but probably not until after the current TV deal happens. Long term I'm more concerned about what Indian and American cash is up to in the US as that's clashing with our summer.
  17. Game is on international tv https://m.livesoccertv.com/teams/england/blackburn-rovers/
  18. I expected more from China. Basically they were bloody useless.
  19. Test cricket got me through the summer and more or less kept me away from the football transfer thread which can only have been a good thing. Stacks of ODIs and Rounders to come this year and then on to the Passage to India.
  20. The Chinese keeper. Awful.
  21. USA scrape through, not the team they used to be.
  22. Randy Meiser (Eagles, Poco etc) also passed on the 26th July. I never tire of listening to him sing.
  23. One Day Cup is on today, Lancs v Essex at Sedbergh, plus WI v India so I'll give the Hundred a swerve.
  24. Or a batting collapse with good bowling assisted by conditions, the "ball" and the 12th Man, the crowd. Whatever it was it was a fabulous watch and Broad, what a winner he is. We should have won the Series.
