  1. I have and it's a lesson learnt and not forgotten. It's like a toothpaste gone off.
  2. Following a scan it's now reported that Sigurdsson is out for 8 weeks and will not feature until mid Sept at the earliest. Groin injuries are notoriously slow healers and will inhibit attaining peak fitness until fully healed. They are prone to reoccur as has happened with this player.
  3. That is an open question. Moore's record is not squeaky clean, see 2015 newspaper revelations
  4. Boycotts opinion. Go on, I dare you to slate one one England's finest whom I had the pleasure in watching. https://wisden.com/series-stories/ashes-2023/geoffrey-boycott-when-you-start-to-believe-your-own-self-importance-then-sport-will-bite-you-on-the-backside-ashes-2023
  5. I took zero enjoyment from poor hookers going at most bouncers in the earlier Test, plus wafting at balls better left alone or from poor keeping, too many no balls ... We ALL like 4+ RPO if it doesn't mean.giving wickets away cheap. We do have a good squad and would have won the 4th if not for the rains.
  6. Hopefully lessons have been leant by Stokes and M from the mistakes and losses their arrogance has caused. They cost us not the weather. I see signs in the Leeds and OT performance that the madness has been tempered at least for a while but I suspect they will try for 3 day finishes where they can against teams we should beat however we play. There have been big bonuses. I like how Crawley has developed for one.
  7. Bollocks to the convicts. We blew it and then the weather turned. The drongos* got lucky.
  8. Is that a statement by JDT, daring the hierarchy to sell our No1 pick?
  9. "It" constantly pushes my button and makes me forget my 3 minute rule. "It" shouldn't and I should not fall for the troll or wum bait, or whatever it is. Personally I don't have anyone on ignore but I may well make an exception but usually I can cope with this BS or usually just don't read it. On the plus side I learnt the definitions of "Drongo" one of which involving 2 words I especially liked as it fitted the bill exactly.
  10. And the 7-2 which some on here had the honour to witness live.
  11. There is a word for the likes of you. I won't give you the pleasure again.
  12. Yes, a wins a win but our finishing is rank bad. Kemp and Russo had clear chances and our keeper saved us. Haiti were a revelation and their striker is top top class.
  13. Spot on. I'm now able to watch top level women's football just for the football and no thoughts of gender.
  14. Goal born in Barrow made in Blackburn
  15. Yes she did. No problem with the pen being turned down because of the prior foul but it was a red for violent conduct, she meant to break a leg and moved her foot well away from the ball to do it.
  16. Exactly what I thought and he made a very strong case.
  17. A rain interlude prompted by earlier discussion on our No. 3 issues. Some stats have changed since 8/22 but the principle remains. Wisden : As at August 2022 Joe Root is the best opener England have had since Andrew Strauss. He’s also their best No.3 since Jonathan Trott, their best No.4 since KP and their best No.5 since Ian Bell. If you gave him the gloves, he’d probably be the best keeper since Matt Prior. If he had to focus on his off-spin, maybe he’d be the best at that since Graeme Swann. And given he’s bowled the odd bouncer in his time, there’s potential as a seamer too. His 180 against Australia is the highest score by an English non-Cook opener since Strauss, and even when promoted in a pinch in 2016 against India at Mohali, with the ball turning significantly and England’s pre-tour optimism just starting to ebb, he still managed 76. He can’t do everything. But imagine if he could. Root as opener: 6 Tests, 417 runs at 41.70, 1 100, HS: 180
  18. Of it helps I have Moeen pencilled as the specialist spinner batsman lol
  19. It's England v Haiti then for sure before a chance of a few hours of Ashes.
  20. England v Haiti live on ITV 1 at 10.30 am today. No excuses. Come on you Ladies of England.
