  1. The sad thing about football these days is the sorry fact that money seems to be the top priority above all else Me? I`m just looking forward to a 'hot-pot' Lanashire derby , watched by a full house of which both sets of fans seem to be truly 'up for' ! ....The buzz about this game is similar to the Dingle FA cup tie. This is what football should be about....not "how much coin we`ll make or lose" Let`s take the roof off Ewood & make it a day everyone will remember!! forget the coin....LANCASHIRE BRAGGING RIGHTS ARE AT STAKE!!!!
  2. A friend saw Dylan at the MEN arena around this time last year. He`s a big fan but says he was disappointed because Dylan didn`t play guitar once...he just bumbled around on a keyboard, looking un-interested & hardly aknowledged the audience during the whole show (plus he hardly recognised some of the songs, as they`d been re-arranged to suit Bob`s keyboard fetish) ...his words not mine.
  3. Where abouts in Fife? (don`t worry, i`m not planning a visit ) ...i have alot of relatives in the Dunfirmline & surrounding areas (Cairney Hill, Culross, High Valleyfield, Toryburn)
  4. I told a Notlobber at work about the £15 offer (he was unaware at the time) He said he`d definately take up the offer & also said he`d tell all his mates, who are a mixture of Bolton & Rovers fans as he lives in the Houghton/Bamber bridge area.
  5. Just read the link on the official site & i applaud what the club is attempting to do! WELL DONE ROVERS!
  6. Oh my god! It looks like the clubs is actually listening! If this is true & tickets for the Bolton game are going to be £15, then i take my hat off to them. I`ll even throw my hat in the ring & predict a bumper crowd of around 27000 (possibly more!) I`ll be buying my ticket, & i`ll also be oining my mates to get down to Ewood aswell!
  7. Just thought i`d see what 'Youtube' had to offer on Feyenoord & found this small clip.... What`s with the "Old Toll Bar, Blackburn" banner??
  8. How come you look like your avatar?
  9. Turned a then faltering Rangers around? Made them once again the powerbase in Sconny Botland (for a time)? Sent them on their way to 10 titles in a row? Beat Celtic on a regular basis whilst at the helm? ...& as for sectarianism, was Souness not the first Rangers manager to sign a catholic, Mo Johnston?
  10. Remember watching it on telly at the time Final Saturday of the season & a day of celebration (supposedly) Powerful & shocking images there
  11. I listen to Talksport all the time. Hawksbee and Jacobs show in the afternoons is quite entertaining, whereas Mike parry can annoy intensley. I also agree with Billy Castell to a point when he says "I get the feeling that there are a load of self important tabliod numpties who still tow the 'dirty Blackbburn' line after that FA Cup semi final."
  12. Have got a re-mix depeche mode cd. Don`t know if it`s the same one, as i downloaded it, but it`s good. Have you heard Tori Amos version of 'Enjoy the Silence' or Smashing Pumpkins version of 'Never let me down again'? Both quite cool versions
  13. When i got my tickets for the Salzberg game, i was served by a rather nice/cute looking brunette ...when looking at my ticket receipt (i paid by card) it said Jane at the bottom. Could this be the counter assistants name? If so, then the mysterious blonde might have a name too.
  14. I agree. Where my dad hails from (small village in Fife, Scotland) you ask anybody who they support & they`ll say "Rangers & blah blah blah" or "Celtic & blah blah blah". Supporting more than one club is quite normal. It is most definately a religion thing, starting at home but being rubberstamped when you go to your catholic or protestant school.
  15. Great result last night! Treated to 2 excellent goals form Benny & Bentley Me & my 2 mates were up in the gods (Jack Walker stand) & came prepared for a UEFA game....Jack Daniels in hip flasks! After the game we met a bunch of Salzberg fans in the Fernhurst & had a drink & singsong with them. A good bunch of blokes they were too! Apparently one of the guys had been to Ewood before (he works for the company that installed the electronic turnstyle system) & has also done other clubs systems up & down the country. All in all, a good evening. Hopefully the Rovers heirarchy will take note of the bigger walk-on crowd & continue their policy of reasonable pricing for future games.
  16. I`d go even further & say Neill isn`t hard or dirty....more rather a clumsy player at times.
  17. ....Just got my tickets today for Thursdays match. £45 for 3 seats in the Jack Walker upper central I asked the rather attractive ticket office lady "how the tickets were selling?" & she replied "very well, infact better than expected" ...she went on to say it wouldn`t be a sell out, but the ticket office had been busy...even without s/t holders not having to claim their seats.
  18. Bob, I`m sure he`d love to see his Yorkshire side play a Lancashire Utd team.
  19. Can i also 'praise' Cotterill? He is doing a decent job over the border in Yorkshire, BUT at the end of the day you can`t polish a turd. The championship looks very poor this year. No-one seems to want to run off with the promotion places like in previous years. The league is weak, Burnley are weak, but at the moment so are the 20 odd other teams. I predict Burnley will finish below half-way & just above the danger zone......in no mans land. If Cotterill had any ambition in him, he`d leave Burnley & move to a bigger club with a least 'some' potential. Afterall, you can put perfume on a pig......but it`s still a pig!
  20. My work means i probably miss up to half of Rovers home games, so a s/t is out of the question. My other Rovers 'buddy' works with me, so has the same problem. My 3rd Rovers 'buddy' also works shifts for a different company(not exactly sure what days/hours) but his wife is a plod (which means she works when Rovers are playing) & they have a baby......which pretty much makes him the babysitter ....so like i say, it`s not often all 3 of us are available at the same time, when the Rovers are playing. Even this coming Thursday, me & my mate are working until 7pm, so we`ll have to 'leg it' from over Preston way to get to the match for 7.45pm.....thus meaning no tea & no beer & smelly work gear for us. I still feel £15 is a reasonable price to pay for 90mins football though.
  21. ...well, why not show a bit of tollerance towards other boardmembers instead of the "I`m hollier than thou because i have a season ticket" attitude you band around at every opportunity.
  22. Why don`t you get off your high-horse? You constantly gripe on about 'non attendees' when you know absolutely NOTHING about their personal circumstances. When you start paying my bills, you can dictate where i spend my money. ....On a different note, I (& 2 others) will be attending the Salzburg game on Thursday night for the following reasons:- a... All 3 of us happen to be off work at the same time (as we all work shifts) b... We all think £15 is a fair price to pay for 90 mins football. ....It`s as simple as that.
