  1. Of course Man Utd are buying him because he's a good player, but I'm sure the incentive of increasing profit in Asia is one reason why they are going for him instead of another defender. I would.
  2. Still dont see the attraction of FF. Always seemed to focus on its gimmick value of add-ons. As I said when this topic started, tabbed browsing is useful, but then I never have more than two-three windows open... and as I have a 1600x1200 res, I always have my startbar at three levels high anyway, so its never clogged, so that never really pulled me either. Anywhoo... BETA IE7 is coming around soon. Should be interesting. Oh, and as an IE supporter, I feel I need to add this http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/05/09/fi...x_0day_exploit/ I know its probs been fixed (simular to WindowsUpdate ) but nice to know its not infalible. Edit: IE7 confirmed to have tabs anyway...
  3. So are Rovers gonna be the first away team to play in the new Munich stadium?
  4. Does anyone else find flying planes in the Toreno missions suicidally annoying. It took me flippin ages to pass the licence, and now I'm given this dumb WWII type plane to go drop something off... he's in the FBI, why cant he get a friggin chopper?
  5. Interesting read... I dont watch any US sports, and the idea of no bilboards or whatever seems a strange move. The NFL, etc, must have a helluva stranglehold on these sports.
  6. Brum are sponsered by Flybe, which earns money for the Walker family, which (and maybe I'm worng I havent looked into it) can then put that into Rovers should it need.
  7. Always want the English clubs to do well, I even grudgingly wanted ManUre to win '99. Same applies here. If 'pool can get the cashflow from a win (and hopefully an entry next year), then with some tactical nouse from Rafa, we could have an outside bet for the title in a year or two, to help liven up the Prem. Plus, Shevchenko shouldnt have been on the pitch against Inter, and shouldnt have been able to score against PSV. I know 'pool had luck with their goal against Chelsea, but I prefer the scousers to Chelsea
  8. As opposed to being a bitter, miserable northener like yourself?
  9. But why mention it? The Everton friendly came about after the sale of John Ruddy in January... the last player to have any link with Rovers I remember was Fred Murray, and that was so long ago he's sicne left the U's anyway.
  10. It was actually a bad birthday party with a few too many bowls of jelly and ice-cream... bearing in mind I was about 8.
  11. http://www.cambridge-united.premiumtv.co.u...~667178,00.html A stganding agreement to play Cambridge is apparently there. I hope its at the Abbey. I missed the last match between the two due severe vomiting, so this would hopefully be a great game. Unless its at Ewood, in which case I'll be damned if I'm going.
  12. I post at another board that has this version of the board, and they set avatars to a standard size and were all Bond related (a Bond site for the thick among us), and sigs were disabled. It gave for a much cleaner, easier to read look, and I prefer it. No doubt being one of the offenders myself, sigs just get in the way and who really reads them? They serve no purpose other than that every otehr board has them.
  13. Hope its Ioswich, as now Naach are gone, I need another local club to goto. And I think Nob End taking money from Rovers is a little over-exaggerated. If anything, it will entice more Rovers fans to home games, especially as Wigan and Nob End would be two guarenteed wins at home.
  14. Beware with the OS of you've got the disk. If its OEM software and all the hardware doesnt match, it may not install, and if you re-install on your current HDD in your new machine, it will probably need a phonecall to MS, as when XP detects major hardware changes, it fears the worst thats its bootlegged and on a different machine, and so wont work. And a computer build yourself isnt daunting, and your £1k would stretch a LOT further. So long as you have an anti-static wristband (or touching a radiator every 120 seconds), and avoid working on static surfaces, I'm sure myself, or someone else, could write the dummies guide to putting it together. I built a PC for a mate, whos £550 had better specs than my £1k Dell that was a mere 3 months older. But if its a PC out the box, I recomend SPecialReserve.co.uk ... or is it .com? Either which, they use quality components, and seeing as you have a monitor et al, you'll cut out the one major flaw in their systems.
  15. What the deuce? How can this be, I'm usually right on FM2005? Seriously, thats a crap load of points to have... I'm not American, but I demand a recount
  16. No.... your *SO* mean.... And anyway, I dont profess to be an ultra-hardcore-die-for-the-club supporter. If I could goto every match I would (on £35 a week its not likely), but when I cant go, I dont fall about in tears. I go to the pub and spend all my money there instead
  17. Stop that with your non-argumentative rubbish. I had figured that one of the unwritten rules of this place was to berate and generally be single minded on as many subjects as possible... Oh, and I can help you understand a little bit, being an armchair supporter myself. Money. Cambridge is just to far away on my meagre part time salary
  18. In fairness, if he fecks up the EPL for a few years, it will drive prices into the ground, and although it may see us drop to League One sort of status, given that we have the JW Trust behind us, it could see us rise quite astronomically. Of course thats the rosy side, and I'd rather he just bugger ManUre up, but sticking lots of teams in the financial shitter wouldnt effect us as many of the current Prem clubs, and clubs that would suffer when promoted. Although the chances are we'd go down and stay down, but hey ho, if it saw Man Utd play non-league it would be almost worth it. Now I am in dream-land...
  19. I'd rather see out the season with negative play and maybe bag an extra million quid in prize money than pointlessly throw it away for the sake of a couple of games.
  20. I got Rovers 12th with 49 points, but I was being a bit optomistic with Rovers results (only loss to Spuds). Naach (20), Soton (19) and West Brom (18) down, with Naach on 22 points... perhaps I was a tad harsh
  21. Down the pub, no doubt on my own surrounded by Ars fans, watching the game on a projection screen.
  22. Nah, he's not the Welshs problem, he's got a group of hired idiots into the England setup that resulted in a recall for Heskey.
  23. I think Neills been steadily improving over the season, most notably with the Spector fiasco. But them, he's always been a personal fave player of mine, so perhaps its tinted specs, but I dont see anyone really any more deserving of the RB slot. Nelsen had one good game, but is a Cb and a damned good one, too, and Emo there would be a bit too disruptive now that the defence is a fairly good unit.
