Great first half and finally some variation in our attacking play. Mixing it up seems to pay off and thus we lead 2-0 against a horrible Norwich side. They remind me of how we often looked under Mowbray: no plan, no strategy, play it around and hope we score.

Norwich enjoying a good spell. Need to calm it down and play it our way.

Norwich look really really poor. Hopeless in defence and rather toothless up top.

Good learning experience for our pups and no reason to be ashamed of that performance. We even created some good chances and Adam Wharton was our MotM. The gulf in money and quality was at times glaringly obvious, but we still only lost by 2 goals (Burnley lost by 3 against mighty mighty Everton). Onwards and upwards!

Another avoidable horrible miss. Told you Chelsea wouldn’t let that go unpunished. Really too bad as we’ve been creating chances. Time for some subs to let some more players get the experience at least.

Half time. Can’t really complain about that despite some horrible errors. Still only 1-0 against an almost full strenght Chelsea away from home midweek….and televised to top it off. We are not even close to playing our strongest 11 so taking that into consideration we’ve done ok. And…we have actually visited Chelseas half and even created some chances! Seen games under Tony where we had fewer chances than we’ve had this half against lesser opponents. Keep the faith! COYB!

So…who would take the penalty if given? Who in a yellow shirt out there would you be confident would score?

Too easy but deserved. Still think we should have some fight left in us.

Adam Wharton is having a good game so far

15 minutes gone. Think we’ve done ok despite some panick in the early minutes. But we’re playing a high risk game again. Chelsea has too much quality to let that go unpunished. Oh..and good save by Wahlstedt.

That is an ok lineup in the cup. Not much to say about Chelsea other than I hope they have an off day. All I ask from our boys is give it their best and don’t get injured. COYB!

This is all down to JDT. Rest players and focus on the league, or go all out thinking it will boost morale if we win. Second option comes with high risk and there apparently is no middle option. I’ll wait untill I see the lineup before I make up my mind about this one.

Bah humbug. Couple of tough games coming up. Hope this was a one off, but fear that Hyam being out disrupts the balance of the team. Need to change something for Norwich.
