  1. All talks of closeness to family etc should never be uttered at Blackburn Rovers. Robbie Savage saw to that in his transfer from Birmingham. Laughed my ass off at that one, but always thought I would be furious if I were a Brum-fan…..untill they became Big Club:-D (for those borne after 2000: check out what you can find on this transfer. Entertaining!)
  2. I’ve always enjoyed your overly positive posts for what they are, chaddyrovers, but looking at your reactions last week has me really worried. You are usually the one to find light where there is only darkness….even if it is actually dark. Hope something happens that will bring that over the top positivity back to you, mate. This truly is the most horrible timeline!
  3. After looking at Wikipedia (yeah I know…) I wouldn’t mind him coming. Might be another one ala Eustace (who I did not want….how wrong I was). He’s done ok as interim manager in clubs not unlike Rovers when it comes to the madhouse factor, so that would imply he’d be able to do some work here. Not necessary head coach for 3 years but in the interim untill summer? Sure. Get him in. Not my first choice, but look at where we are. Can and probably will do worse.
  4. Impossible to say this one. Will the players be poorly motivated and kinda deflated after last days chaos? Or will they for some reason come out roaring to perhaps attract a decent manager? What about the new guys? And who picks the team? Not sure I can conjure up enough mental strenght to watch this one tonight, but going by previous shitshows I’ll probably be glued to the screen again at 8. Prediction? 2-2. A dodgy penalty and an OG puts Rovers ahead. West Brom score 2 at the end and just unlucky not to get 3. Director of the movie in my head: M. Night Shyamalan (what a twist!) - so it’s gonna be ok until you start thinking about it and then it’s to late. You’ve already parted with your money and it turns out everyone was dead all along. Fuck this timeline!
  5. 100% agree with jim mk2, but it probably won’t happen. We will rather end up with a cheap gamble from abroad that noone has heard of except Gestede. Bah.
  6. Can’t vote for Ribeiro, Dennis or Woodrow
  7. What a weird game that was to experience. At first happy to see our new signings performing and then 5 min later find out about Eustace leaving then Wolves scoring. Poof! Absolutely numb and deflated to be honest. Really hope he stays and we can build on some of the performances today.
  8. Kargbo off for Weimann. Kargbo my MotM unless something special happens. Great debut.
  9. Cantwell for Big Mak ACD off for Dolan
  10. Really positive start to 2nd half. Pull on back and it’s game on
  11. Gueye to come in 2nd half to score his first hattrick. Please let it happen!
  12. 2-0. Game over. Harsh and unfair, but here we are.
  13. Of fuck me….Toth keeps the legacy of our keepers going. Mongo is appaled!
  14. Hate to say it but with VAR we would be at least 1-0 up + a penalty
  15. Is this ref drunk? Time to put the conspiracy hat on. oh…and the new guys have been brilliant
  16. Let’s win this. Header from Hyam will do. COYB!!
  17. That is just the point. Keep transfers to the summer and make owners plan for an entire season. Injuries and suspensions is part of the game. Plan accordingly. Or tell the fans that we can always fix it in january and what we have is probably good enough anyway. Repeat ad nausem. I stand by my previous post: it’s stupid.
  18. This january window business is just getting stupider and stupider every season. Not just at Rovers but cross the entire EFL. This season EVERYONE needs a striker or a forward. And the respective owners of clubs just dally along promising strikers, Ronaldhinio or the next Haaland whether you are in League 2 or PL. A way to balance the books perhaps? Keep putting things off? A way for the relegated clubs to use their financial muscle to steal players from competing clubs? I don’t care anymore. So please just go back to transfers only in summer. That way the respective owners will have to plan for the entire season, and not just wait and see if things are ok come january. It is the same shitshow every season and it is just getting worse. We - fans and supporters and particulary those that travel - deserve better and need to know that the middle of the season won’t define the entire season based on transfers…..like losing your top striker or midfielder to another club to keep the lights on. It is just stupid so stop it! But by all means I would love some mouthwatering transfers in january, but the more I think about it I’d rather have that player at the start of the (pre-)season. This thing is just disruptive and dumb. Get it over with and roll on with the rest of the season. Give me a couple of wins and all is forgiven. Rant over.
  19. Site is all wonky and I can't post from the iPad. Tried Chrome, Firefox and Brave on the pad. Posting from android phone now, but still looks off. Brilliant first half! Who is this new striker? Gueye?
  20. Partial side-boob and hiding his six fingers?!? This a Burnley plant if I’ve ever seen one!
  21. Bah. Sometimes I hate this sport and to some extent this club, and that time is now. After an encouraging and exciting start to the season the owners lack of interest once again puts us at a disadvantage. Same thing each season no matter the manager. If I want to see a groundhog day play out every year I’d rather watch the movie, but here we are. I also know that some of the smarter heads on here warned us about this at the start of the season. Such a small squad will be seriously hampered by injuries and suspensions sooner rather than later. Betting on everyone of the first 11 being able to play 40+ games over a season is like taking your life savings, going to Las Vegas and put everything on 42. If it works out….great. But! Most likely you’ll lose everything. Venkys is the player coming back once a year thinking «This time!». It’s a poor mans gamble and seldom pays off and it is just stupid the more you think about it. If they only understood what effect a decent signing or two will have for the manager, the squad and the fans. Particulary those heroes that travel to away games in the middle of january on a tuesday. No need to break the bank. Just give these guys a budget and let them have at it. Stop this nonsense every january. If you won’t spend any money then come out and tell us. Not Waggott. Not Pasha. Effing Venkys. Have some balls (pun intended) and show your faces to the fans who spend their hard earned money on this shitshow. So to sum up I’ve more or less given up on any meaningful signing this window. No matter what name is brought up, manager likes and wants him, still Venkys need to sign the check…..if they have time…or can muster the will to drag their heads out of their asses. Fuck football. Fuck Venkys!!!
  22. That volley from Weimann pretty much sums it up
  23. This is just pitiful. Missing so many players due to injuries in a much to small squad.
