  1. We still stand one place above Newcastle tho, on goal difference. Brilliant. And loads of places above Birmingham, things aren't all bad.
  2. Wasn't it last season that Matts tally of goals in the few games that he played in ended up being a better average than Dickovs in a full season?
  3. While obviously im all for Matty being given fa chance in the Rovers side, (it is so frustrating watching Dickov play, run and moan thats all he seems to do), it's the old scenario of games and if he had a run of games. However, I do feel that he should start looking to play somewhere else. For his own confidence and career. However I wonder how many of you on here knocking Jansen if he did eventually move on would start to criticise him for not showing loyalty to Rovers, moaning about how we stood by him and he asks to leave? Just a thought.................
  4. Went to the game today. Poor first half better second half, apart from the win one of the highlights was seeing Savage kissing his shirt in front of the visiting fans then walking over to clap them and bow to them. I suppose he needs to as they are far superior to him!1111
  5. I hope we win. It's a game we should win. But are Birmingham looking for a first? Maybe Dunn will get his first goal of the season/for the club? The script is already written. I hope I'm wrong.
  6. You obviously condone the above behaviour and if it wasn't for that fact that the guy was a lot older and should know better i could have said it was.
  7. It would be fantastic if Newcastle cam here with Souness still in charge and a Bellamy hat trick ended his reign there. But what would be the odds on Newcastles firts win of the season...............
  8. I was sat behind somebody coming back on the coach from Cardiff, and half of the journey was unbearable needless to say uncomfortable. Everyone on the coach was tired and down, and this guy whilst still drinking on the coach was trying to get everyone to sing, he was shouting, swearing and generally abusive. He turned to an old guy sat in the seats opposite why people didn't want to sing and the guy politely as him to be quiet he threatened to take him out. This pratt (sorry) totally ruined what was an otherwise a good day out and it's not fair that decent people should have to put up with idiots like him. Surely something should be done.
  9. No, we wheren't in Iraq when the world trade centres went up. But we were for the previous two Gulf Wars before that. I'm not saying what happened in London was right, it disgusts me, as much as it does the next decent human being, but look at the statements released after Madrid it was for the countries that ha dinvaded Iraq and Afghanistan. The Spanish government pulled there army out. At statement has come out today saying there will be constant reminders in the future while there is still conflict in Iraq and the Eastern countries.
  10. I wonder how many people on here who are condeming the terrorists agreed with the war in Iraq? I far one came on here and said that i disagreed with us going over and getting involved with other countries politics. I said our troops should be brought home because there will be a backlash. While this is not on the same scale, it is exactly the same, innocent people being targetted in an eye for an eye situation. Bush and Blair went on about a war on terror. Hasn't really worked has it. I said at the time that Saddam Hussain wasn't a big threat on the Western world as Osama and his followers and it was he we needed to find. This isn't the result of terrorists. It is Bush and Blair who have blood on their hands. Condolences to everyone who has lost someone in this tragedy. Prayers for all the missing. Every member of the emegency services in London. We salute you.
  11. Maybe the reason he didn't go to Everton is because he realised after talking to Savage and looking at a map that Blackburn was far closer to Wales than Liverpool.............. According to todays Sun we are putting in a 500,000 bid to bring Cole back. Pleased with the signing, worried about his temperament, but looking at it from another point of view, Souness was his manager. I think says it all considering Souness' temperament with our former players. And the fact we have got another one over Brum makes it even sweeter.............
  12. Graeme Le Saux helped us to win the league. I didn't think he did an awful lot wrong when he left, and look at the people who did leave us and how they left. Shearer, Sutton, you can;t still imagine that team playing for us now. From what I know Graeme has never slagged us off and talks highly of winning the league with us, and always says it was one of the happiest times of his career. How many other people get disillusioned in a job when they know they want to leave. Cheers Graeme and Good Luck.
  13. I think David Gold might have something to say about Freddy Shepards comments!
  14. As I said in a previous post, the reason people won't come back to Ewood is because we aren't challenging the big boys any more. We have always had low gates, simple as, it was only when Dalglish was here that a lot of people cam to follow him and see us win the league, and Jack Walkers money so us buy who we wanted. Fair weather supporters, they won't come to a restamonial because they don't know what TP did for us, because they wheren't around, probably went off supporting United again and Chelsae now as they are the champions. Because and i don't mean this in a detremental way at all to Tony, it maybe our championship side but because the game doesn't mean anything in terms of honours then people won't be there.# I for one will. Because it's Rovers, simple as.
  15. Flowers has confirmed he will be there and said that a few more big names are expected as "we all know who I speak to". A shearer return me thinks..
  16. I think the most satisfying thing about these results, apart from our safety is to currentl be higher in the league that a team bigger than Rovers (GOLD) and one of the biggest teams in the world (Souness). Lets hope the season finishes like that.
  17. Yeah, but that wobn't mean Utd aren't thugs, it will just be Utd classy usual style of play. I think the negative press ruined it for me yesterday, otherwise an all round good day, heard an interview with Hughes afterwards that said that Wenger should concentrate on his own team and style of play rather that talk about ours. Well said Sparky.# The truth is the press have hated us ever since we dared to challenge Man U for the title, wanted us to win it when they didn't think they would and as soon as we did, they didn't like us again. Rovers should do what they have always done. Prove everyone wrong and finish as high up the table as we can. Sign Bellamy in the summer and come back next year, challenge for everything we can, and finish as high up the table as possible. Hopefully break a few legs on the way.......... I will be writing to the guy who wrote that article in The people and the same letter will be forwarded to every expert of football, hey Rodney Marsh eventually got sacked. We will bring them down.
  18. Was too tired to come on here last night, but now have had a full nights sleep wanted to make a few comments. It was a great day out yesterday, apart from the result, couldn't beleive that there was snow on all the cars, left Ewood about 5.30 and can't remeber most of the journey there as we slept, stopped at the services as 7.05 to a mass of blue and white, the cue was that long in the sgop thought we would nip to the garage for a paper only to find 2 people serving, and I'm convinced one was a snail, she even told us that they wheren't expecting this. Must'nt have realised that there was a semi final on!?! Arrived at a gloriously sunny Cardiff, was a bit surprised to see that the stadium didn't have a car park and we where in fact parked near the ground. We didn't have to worry about getting lost, we just followed the hourdes of blue n white all going in one direction. I too saw the drunk while we mingled outside the ground waiting for the doors to open, also one sole random Newcastle fan, don't know if anyone actually told him he had turned up on the wrong day. The doors finally opened and after climbing god knows how many steps to get into the arena we then had to climb more steps to get to our seats. Completley blown away by the stadium, one poor guy who was sat just a bit behind us had to be helped back down the stairs bu st Johns ambulance. Hope he was ok. Thought we played well, and the see of blue n white did every rovers fans and players proud, it brought a lump to my throat. This was our day and no one was going to ruin it. Didn't deserve to be beaten 3-0 and we wheren;t as physical as the press and everyone made out. I think that teams are jumping onto that bandwagon and doing everythingi.e diving to make us out to be a dirty team. Like the goalie who dived when Pederson went near him and he didn't even get booked. Heard radio 5 on the coach on the way back and the presenter said he thought the atmosphere was a bit flat(!) but that the Rovers fans were the only ones to be heard after we went 2-0 down. Proud of everyone in blue n white yesterday. Lets keep it up on Weds.
  19. I'm glad he was there to support us. Did he say how he was? And whether he would be back next season. Bless him!
  20. I don't know how much of this is true, but i heard that he can even now still turn up for training asking where he is and what he is doing there
  21. ooops meant monday, don't know how i got that confused, it seems ages since we played on a sat.
  22. Reading some sunday papers they said it was a boring game and everton were unlucky, and we were lucky to win. Must have been a different game from the one i was watching. When will we ever get any credit?
  23. Gutted for the lad, totally devastated, do we know why he is out for the season? Bye bye matty, sob sob.
  24. I thought the build up on sky was interesting there was only 1 team playing according to them. So how good was it that we made people sit up and take notice, rovers r always best when we are the underdogs, and well said to sparky after the game who commented that nobody has given us credited for what er are trying to do here. I'm that optimistic i could even see us finishing in the bottom of the top half of the table, imagine that and an fa cup win 10 years after winning the cup. Oh and one of the teams that are bigger than us are sat one place and onlt one point above us. hahahaha
  25. Don't care how we won, the important thing is we did. It's nice to have Sparkey who actually wants to win a cup. To go out against Burnley would have been dreadful, but who cares. we're through. P.S Just been reported on ssn that Bothroyd has just been released form hospital suffering from internal bleeding apparently.
