11,000 have been sold according to the girl I spoke to at the ticket office. Thats brilliant, when you consider there are only 6,000 more at Rovers games! -

Well you'll see a few more next to you on Friday - that's if you're going ! I'll be there. Thankfully we haven't bought the tickets, it could end up being a rip off. -

The first buy in January should be a decent, young, strong centre midfielder to partner Ferguson ( who was excellent today ).

Only 20,500 here today. Say there were only 18 000 rovers fans? Terrible. -

Villa fans aren't the best at spelling are they. Not to say I am.................... -
i accept he's had a bad injury, and prior to that was missing home and not playing inverness caledonians etc. however the injury doesn't excuse his performance as team leader / captain, eg; getting sent off for petulance when already on a yellow card, & being the first to bottle out of the wall for clement free kick vs west brom. hopefully the 'roy keane' charecteristics we heard so much about a year or so ago will become apparent under new regime. frosty snr

from what we've seen of furguson to date he is at best half decent premiership player worth a couple of million. the only reason some people have the idea that he's a top class player is the hype surrounding his signing, ie; the build up given him by souness alone, and the fact that we paid about £5m too much for him. i'm not saying he's a bad player, we just need to get used to the idea that he's not the world beater suoness convinced everyone he was. he also needs to show some leadership qualities to justify his role as captain. frosty ( snr )

2-1 Rovers. With just 6 minutes and 36 seconds on the clock, wing wizard Brett Emerton fires a shot in from long range. Saved by Sorensen, but Dickov is there to tap in the rebound. Just 61 seconds before the half time whistle goes, Morten Pedersen is bundled over in the box from a emerton corner. The croud gasp. But no, the referee ( don't know who but he'll be poo anyway ) claims he didn't see the push. Doesn't matter though, as Jonathan Stead takes no nonsense and belts the ball in. With only around minutes and 21.56 seconds to go, Carlton Cole fires past Friedel with a fine finish. At the end, the fans applaud Hughesy. -
Hughes has carried on where Souness left off- by signing older players. Despite being very old, Djoarkaeff can create and hopefully chip in with a few goals, too.

Team: Freidel Neill Amo ? Gray Emerton Ferguson Flitcroft Pedersen Dickov Stead/ Jansen/ Bothroyd 1-1 scoreline. 100th post by the way!!!!!! -
Johansson first, then Amoruso.
-
I think we are all getting a bit carried away now, Mrs J! We all thought jansen was back to his brilliant best after his superb goal against liverpool last season. We we all wrong. Jansen only notched once after that, which came against Genclebergi in the uefa cup. We didn't see him again after that because Dwight Yorke's very high work rate kept him out of the team. Lets hope Jansen can grab a couple of goals tonight and start getting his confidence back, and then jansen might be back!

The team should be: Enckleman Neill Mcevely Johansson Gresko Thompson Tugay Douglas Pedersen/de pedro Jansen Bothroyd 2-0 Rovers scored by Bothroyd and douglas.

With Sparky in charge, hopefully that can motivate the players and work harder. I'm changing my mind and going for a 1-0 win for us. -
[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
frosty replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
3rd choice, B.P! Honestly! When I first heard soness had gone one guy sprung to my mind - mark hughes. I would have liked Dowie or Strachan but trust me, hughes will be a big hit! -
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........ I don't think Vratty deserves to have a place in the greatest ever left back. I'd definetely go for Le saux.
-
It willl be Hughes, but we better get him in before the pompey game or we'll face another roll over.

frosty replied to bob fleming's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I really don't feel good about this game. Portsmouth are the most in-form team in the league, while we are the complete opposite. Hate to say it, but.................... 2-0 pompey Also we get our first penalty since a very long time ago but rovers take too long to decide who is taking it so the ref gets fed up and gives a goal kick. -

In the Newsagents up the road, there are newspaper boards saying ' Souness quits ' and then the shop owner has put words like ' praise the lord ' and stuff like that on. Obviously he isn't a fan of souness's then. Come to think of it, neither am I!
