Just remembered we’re on dreaded Sky tonight. Last season we were embarrassing across 95% of our matches on there. Let’s hope for better this season - starting with tonight.

Massive night for Carter. We really need a settled run at the back soon - seem to have to chop and change every week. Really not keen on Dolan starting, but let’s hope he surprises me.

First Brittain, now inevitably Ayala. We just don’t have the squad right now to cope with it. As others have said, I’d have thought Ayala would have struggled through until winter before taking his leave.

He’s a deft operator with excellent link-up play, but the service into him has to be precise and tailored rather than hopeful and speculative.

I think we need to manage expectations here. From what I've read, despite his height he is not a target man and his style doesn't lend itself to playing really direct. He is supposedly pretty good at bringing others into play, running the channels and getting in the box. Let's hope he has some goals to go with his game!

When it rains...loss of Brittain will be huge as we don't have any options other than Carter (untested at this level and naturally a CB, or Travis - our CM and captain). JRC is not an option. May put JDT off on going five at the back too, as I can't see how Carter could be a RWB.

As BBD’s replacement or regardless of what happens to him? A Prem loan as a replacement for BBD would be standard under this lot.

Yep - we need to stop p*ssing about and bring in Styles. He’d be perfect as a LWB if we are to go three at the back. It’s a no brainer.

Rock bottom for shots on/off target, and chances created is hugely concerning. Some heads at the club need a massive wobble before Thursday if they think three signings - two of which are CB’s - will be enough.

Not a massive one for stats but we were bottom of the ‘expected goals’ league table when we were top after three matches. I don’t think we’ve create a chance since then! Something has to change here and big time. As I said earlier, really don’t want to jump on his back when the club are giving him jack sh*t to work with, but if we see more of the same second half and he comes out all calm and cool about the result post match, then I’ll be simmering. It’s not good enough - far from it.
