One of the worst WrestleMania's ever last night. The whole event was, by and large, a massive FU to the fans from Vince, Hunter and Stephanie. The wrong person went over in almost every match, and the main event was possibly the worst ever. The crowd were booing Reigns so much that WWE muted the audience and turned up the ring/announcer mics to block it out. They then piped in fake cheers at the end when Reigns won the match. A real low point as far as respecting their fan base goes. I regret staying up until 5am to watch it.

Not a chance imo. Being 10 points behind Preston is pretty tragic though.

Who was he to take the job? -

Works for me. Should have stayed with Sky. I'm all for being brave, but taking your first managerial job in a country where you don't even speak the language? Not the smartest move. -

Fantastic second half performance. It's only a friendly but I can't remember the last time we played this well against a top international team in friendlies or in a tournament. We could leave Rooney at home and be no worse off. -
Jeez, a lot of furious reaction to a poster who's mainly been on the wind up over PL since he was appointed We're no great shakes but we aren't going down. On our day we'll get points from anybody in this division and we'll have enough of those days between now and the end of the season to stay up. Today was unfortunate, but ultimately nothing more than a match between two teams who have no prospects until the summer transfer window opens.

And people say Rovers fans are the worst for giving Brown some stick -
Ultimately I don't think Fulham will drop this season, but it's a huge summer for them. If they fail to sort out the mess they're in then next season they may well find themselves falling through the trap door. They're scoring enough (second highest scorers in the league!) but also concede a ridiculous amount (only Charlton have conceded more). In theory if they can sort out their defence they should be alright, but you have to assume McCormack will go in the summer, along with maybe a few others to get them out of the embargo. If they aren't out of the embargo by the time the summer ends they'll be in much the same position as we were at the start of this campaign.

Bowyer's meagre three wins coupled with our horrendous loss of form from mid-Dec through Jan really made it difficult for us this season. It seems like PL has used our winless run to sort the wheat from the chaff and I expect more changes to come in the summer.
-
If we'd kept GB in charge we'd have fallen through the trap door imo. Even with a proper manager in charge it's been tough to get a tune out of the squad, I very much doubt Bowyer could have attracted the necessary resources in Jan to improve us. I think JR would still be here, though. I can't imagine Bowyer being as ruthless as Lambert in shoving him out the door once the initial talks with Boro broke down.
-
I can't see us going down now. Lambert's getting enough out of this team to avoid relegation fairly comfortably imo.

Yeah, agreed. It's all about balance. I tend to find Japan is a bit too far in one direction, whilst American wrestling is too far in the other. It kind of worked for WWE during the Attitude Era, but they burned through so many storylines in that time that within a few years there was absolutely nothing left.
-
We know at least part of it is covered by the BOI. There were rumours that the JR money came from Balaji's personal stash, though I don't know if that was ever confirmed. He's right. Grant really seems to have matured this season into a much more reliable, level-headed player. Long may that continue.
-
Unfortunately this season in particular has seen our team at a real low point in terms of creativity and strikers with the ability to score goals. We started the season arguably without a creative player anywhere in the team, whilst aside from JR the rest of our strikers were better known for not scoring goals. In Gomez, Graham and Watt we have probably brought in enough to get us over the line for this season. Some major surgery will be required in the summer to correct the glaring creative and goal scoring deficiencies across the squad (especially if you exclude those currently on loan).

They didn't go on a 9 game run without a win!
-
It's a result we all needed. Our winless run is over, and hopefully we can carry some of this momentum into Sunday's match.

I hope somebody takes the bar and slams it across his bald head. -
WCW was a sinking ship long before Russo came in, WWF/E became so hot in 1999 that there probably wasn't much WCW could do. They hadn't built any new stars and people were tired of seeing Hogan, Nash, Sting, etc in the main event every week. WWF/E was giving the fans something fresh and exciting, whilst WCW was giving people practically the same thing they'd been offering in 1997, especially when the Wolfpac/B&W nWo joined forces again after the 'fingerpoke of doom'. Russo didn't help, but by that time the horse had bolted anyway. WCW could never have competed with the likes of Austin and the Rock at that point. The company itself died because of the mergers and Ted Turner's weakened position. Once the network had decided it didn't want WCW any more, it was game over regardless of anything they attempted.
-
That was hilarious, though I remember being pretty angry at the time. We switched to Sky Digital in '99 and WCW wasn't on there, so the only way I could watch it was through Channel 5 and it @#/? sucked. The segments were weeks if not months old and often spliced together with no cohesion at all. If I remember correctly the show was called WCW Worldwide. By the time WCW came to Bravo (2000, 2001?) I'd already migrated to the WWF/E. I did go through all of the WCW eps recently on the Network, from around mid-96 to the beginning of 1998. Really great stuff - WCW in its prime was a fantastic show. A shame that they had no ideas once the nWo idea became stale.

Stop cursing us ffs.

Yes.

Anything less than wins from our next two home games at the very least is unacceptable at this point. We need to try and limp on to the end of this pathetic season and rebuild in the summer, though Lambert's first few months in the job have dampened my expectations somewhat.
