  1. In some ways the club are lucky we've been winning both times. Imagine we'd been losing instead? Would we have seen such a shrug of the shoulders reaction from the competition's supposed regulators?
  2. We gonna get some more videos posted of games being completed in monsoon conditions?
  3. Over to you, EFL. Are you actually going to do anything about this, or will it be the usual spineless silence?
  4. Shame on the owners for reducing us to this pathetic level. Shame on the EFL for allowing it to continue.
  5. If we have a particularly wet winter/spring, I wonder how many games would have to be abandoned at Ewood before the EFL actually cared enough to intervene?
  6. Well yeah, but that doesn't account for our inconsistent performances across the entire season though. Goes as far back as when we beat Hull 3-0 and then immediately lost at home to Norwich with a dire display. Or when we beat Watford away and went straight on to lose to Charlton and Swansea. Would be nice to just see a minimal level of consistency across just a handful of games.
  7. We are just unbelievably inconsistent. How do you go from playing like we did against Ipswich to this?
  8. Every season we are the Champions of the 'What If' league table. Maybe Ismael has spent the last few days drawing up a table on a piece of paper that will show us in the same position as we would be if Chaddy's predictions always came true - top with a perfect record and barely any goals conceded. He might as well at this point.
  9. This world cup makes me feel very uneasy. The location it's being held in, the unnecessarily expanded format, the manipulation to ensure 'bigger' countries don't get eliminated early... no sir, I don't like it. Although of course I'll still watch it, out of morbid curiosity if nothing else.
  10. Have to say I was genuinely shocked by how poor Ipswich were. When you consider the inherent talent in the squad, I think they were the worst team to visit Ewood this season - and by that I mean how the team played on the day relative to expectation, not necessarily the overall worst team. It was the same in the first match tbf, maybe your lads just don't like travelling that far north. It'll be interesting to see if your owners spend any more in January. Seems a fair amount of the recruitment since the promotion to the PL has been flawed, although I think with sales the club is still technically in net transfer profit? In terms of what you're getting on the pitch versus the amount spent on fees and wages though... nowhere near good enough.
  11. Weird one, kind of feels like they've downgraded going from their interim to new permanent manager tbh. I do wonder if O'Neill would have considered taking on the rest of the season if he'd been offered a really good deal. With that said, if Nancy has anything about him at all he should be able to be somewhat successful there regardless. Hearts have already completely lost the eight point advantage they had - and Celtic have a game in hand on them.
  12. There were also at least two occasions where he got the ball, charged off down the flank with it and lost possession because he is so poor technically that dribbling and passing accurately seem to be largely beyond him.
  13. Sounds more like a threat than a good time. No thanks.
  14. The meme potential for this image is unlimited.
  15. Pickering or Ribeiro are the obvious answers. If you're defending a lead you bring on capable defensive players, not a player whose only attribute is speed.
  16. It will be one of the reasons home crowds continue to fall. Watching us under Venky ownership is soul destroying enough as it is, without adding hopelessness and anxiety to the closing stages of every match. When we finally got some respite from that under Eustace it was almost immediately torn away by the usual internal bickering and disagreements which led to us downgrading to Ismael.
  17. A lot of it is cope, but it's understandable in the circumstances. I think we've only scored more than once in 4 of our 18 matches. Little wonder we're struggling as this isn't a team that has the quality to consistently keep clean sheets. I believe it's also 4 in 18. It's sad that many now consider what we're seeing as "playing well", but in context of the squad and manager I understand it. I'm just confused about why anyone would seem content or satisfied that this is our level now.
  18. Alebiosu would be a huge loss, he's one of the only players in the team besides Cantwell who genuinely makes things happen. I think he'd have a few more assists at the moment if he had a half-decent attacking lineup to work with.
  19. For what it's worth, I don't see that Ipswich team getting promoted. Our ragtag bunch of randoms have been objectively better than them in both matches we've played against them this season. Expect Coventry will carve them up at the weekend if that's the level they're at. If we don't beat Sheffield Wednesday at Ewood then we are in trouble. Slap a Venky's logo on it. Underachievement and despair guaranteed since 2010.
  20. Ipswich were so poor that we should have been at least two or three up. Whilst I agree the ref was an absolute disgrace tonight, with a better team we simply aren't going into injury time needing to once again cling on to victory. What we're seeing is a curse - the Venky curse.
  21. It was mainly because we decided to once again sit back and soak up pressure - maybe that's all we can do with the quality available to us. As soon as Ipswich decided to start playing rather than fall about constantly they actually looked a threat, but I'm sure it's not a coincidence that it coincided with the likes of Taveres and De Neve on the pitch. Is anybody going to ask Ismael why he refuses to give Pickering or Ribeiro - far superior players - any game time? I suppose not, as they'd probably get banned.
  22. Ipswich deserved absolutely nothing from that. An embarrassing performance from a £200m team. Unfortunately our lack of quality in the squad massively hinders us when we need to put subs on. That's on the owners and their underlings. They have ripped the team apart and we're left with only being able to score a single goal against the worst team to play at Ewood this season, and inevitably conceding in the final moments yet again.
  23. Disgusting. No idea who to be angry at.
  24. Ipswich players suddenly not rolling all over the floor. Odd that.
