  1. No. didn't , but Im glad it confirms what I said otherwise all the goals I didn't give (or did) when I was able to referee would come back and haunt me! Is the fact that Cisse didn't actually touch the ball when the Scousers beat us last year why he wasn't judged off-side? In my day, if a player made an attempt to play the ball insuch a position, even though not actually touching it, he was putting himself in active play and penalised!!
  2. A player may be in an offside position without being offside per=se, eg if he is deemed not to be interfering with play (cue Van Nistlerooy), however to be offside he must also be in this position when the ball is played FORWARD and by a member of his OWN team. hence a player may be in advance of all the defenders (including the goalkeeper) but if a team-mate has got to the goal line (like Emerton does) and passes ACROSS the field of play or BACK into the field of play, or if a player occupying an offside position interceps a gaffed backward pass by an opponent to his own goalkeeper, then even that player is not offside. The only times you can not be offide at all is, as first receiver from a corner-kick, goal-kick or throw-in. I thank you
  3. That probably includes the gratis Season Ticket holders as well whether they turn up is another matter!
  4. Funny thing, d'you recall that TEXAS song where the lyric, I eventually found out was "I've opened the door etc", I always thought it said, "I think I'm infertile", Freudian or what!
  5. Wish I was still young enough to have spots, I'd much rather have to put up with Clearasil than the heart tablets I'm on now........
  6. Please God, don't let events conspire to permit the chant of ,"...Nelsen, Nelsen, what's the score...", on Saturday!
  7. BBE lower, row 30 seats 101/102/103 - not all at once of course, the kids sit on two of them!
  8. Not 'arf! (PS do they still call them "fiance"s these days?)
  9. sorry if I've missed the answer to this somewhere....I'm one who renewed on the early bird scheme on-line - does anyone know when the old (retained) tickets/passes go "live" again? Just feel nervous that I've heard zilch since I did it
  10. Wish I could write like these lads have done, joy to read, all of them.
  11. dillo, anata-wa Rovers ichiban-fan desu! (I think!?)
  12. I seem to remember him refereeing the same fixture at the latter stage of our promotion season, Duff scored wondergoal ( much maligned phrase), can't remember who scored the second, Marcus Bent perhaps? When he's good he's very very good, when he's bad, he's like Riley!!!
  13. The femoral artery was under severe pressure at that point!! Seriously, to all those who wished me well before, I made it!! and I was there. I guess we all feel like Newcastle did after the "hand of MGP" incident, or perhaps (but less so), Paul Jewell, we have had our fair share of luck this season and let's face it, had we done the business away at West Brom, home and away to Everton and more recently against Wigan games where we would have expected to ratchet up the points, the Liverpool game wouldn't have mattered. We've had a fantastic season given the last two, and the fat lady still has to clear her throat - reports say Sparky has alll but admitted CL is out the window, I hope that this is just media hype, our remaining games are ALL winnable, including Chelsea, the Spuds could still blow it. Come on you Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Cheers everyone! Apparently I just have to avoid sudden leaping to my feet which could disturb the closed entry point in my femoral artery (are you having your tea right now....?!), but since I only do that when Rovers score, I will willingly take the risk!!!! (look out all those surrounding Row 30 seat 103, BBE)
  15. Listen, I'm going to make it two days after having a coronary angiogram (where they stick a catheter up my ar....teries), if I can make it, everyone should!!
  16. Yes, don't you find it a problem having to take them out in a darkened room and hand-developing them!!
  17. ...except if the defending player touched it, it wouldn't be a goal-kick would it?
  18. You are allowed to place your body between player and ball, but not to hold your arms out to increase effective "shield" area. Ball must be within playing distance of defending player at all times.
  19. Sorry, the only thing I can add to this debate is that, once when the guy next to me let his smoking hand down to his side (and yes I mean he had a cigarette in it, not his hand that was smoking!), he burnt a hole through my Rovers Bench jacket.
  20. I've never known so many twitchin' sphincters since the night before we played Burnley that April!
  21. Thanks, I guess being in the Warrington area, ours may be later than everyone else's.
  22. Does this mean the renewal packs have been sent out already? How long ago?
  23. I guess he didn't see the Tiatto hand-ball, or the pull back on Dickov either - funny game football, it affects your eyesight when you lose.
