  1. Not so much of a sleeping giant........more of a comatose prehistoric monster. Home win.
  2. About the same time as: Padiham Blue I am 'ere, wo ho, wo ho Padiham Blue I am 'ere, wo ho, wo ho Who was he and where is he?????
  3. It has been, and will be every time I get the opportunity. I appear to be in a minority however. Unfortunately, the chairman is also a Blackburn End Drummer, and Billy doesnt seem to let concerns about how popular his drumming is bother him (so long as he gets his free ticket). Make him bloody pay like everyone else! Does he also get first choice for away games????
  4. What absolute twaddle. It's like saying that so long as a child has stabalisers on its bike it can't cycle on two wheels, so best keep them. Why not just get rid of them and see how the atmosphere improves. There may be a lull as the crowd adapts but they'll soon be cycling away no probs. Try sitting at the back of the BBE towards the JWS. I'm sick to death of chants (and practically every football chant can be drummed to) being destroyed by the drummer, who doesn't understand that sound travels at a set speed. By the time he hears the chants near us, starts beating his bloody drum and the sound gets back it's invariably half a beat out and the chant is destoyed. THAT'S WHY THERE'S NO ATMOSPHERE!!!! nail on the head!
  5. ************* - Go away quickly. Does any one remember the Blackburn End's rendition of Annie's Song? Ya can't do that with a drum. Personal details edited by Paul
  6. Sox It actually an attempted left foot cross that's missed the ball. PS. Is wand short fer wandering???
  7. Should never have let that Souey bloke go. Could be playing with 3 left wingers, 4 midfield and 3 right wingers! Just imagine: MGP DP Gally - Flitty Tugay Fergie Matteo - Thommo Reid Emo Brad
  8. It's all making sense now..... ..... De Pedro, Parkes and t'Mole are one and the same!
  9. Bob - I've just been told by a bloke in the pub that Rovers have bid £30m for Raul (with De Pedro in part ex). Keep it to yerself eh?
  10. At last somebody else with their feet on the ground Excellent RR and my feelings entirely. I keep gettin me Eid mixed up with me Diwalhi and me Chinese New Year! Think we'd better emigrate chaps.... ..... save a seat for me.
  11. Bryan If you check the OS map, you'll find t'River Blakewater flowing 'neath t'streets - hence Blackburn and t'Rovers.
  12. AESF This is old ground and largely last week's rant. ''magnificent job'' is diplomatic speak aimed at not making the decision worse than it already was - better than saying 'Clear off and don't darken this doorway again'. On a fresh note, however, any suggestions as to who the mole(s) might be (without prejudice of course)?
  13. Excellent comparison. The King is dead, long live the King!
  14. Agreed Scotty. The offence was committed. My point is : Does the punishment fit the crime?
  15. No, not at all. Wouldn't you have thought that he would have reflected on his millionaire lifestyle, and when approached by Perryman would have thought to himself "I earn forty thousand pounds a week - look at this spotty @#/?". It'll be interesting to see how emotionally scarred he is by the whole incident, the next time he leaves a club in the early hours with blond totty on each arm. FFS, the coverage this has had, you'd think they found Bin Laden in the Blackburn End. Steady on! Bryan's already got him in the Darwen End eating a lard pastie (see above). Sounds like he's using body doubles.
  16. Hughesy says the sentence was lenient. 5 year ban and £1000. A bus driver in Accrington knocked over and killed a woman pedestrian last year, result: 1 year ban and £700 (?). What price human life? The Yorke case was a kangaroo court to satisfy the baying media.
  17. To avoid further trouble on Boxing Day, could we all refer to Newcastle as the team in the 'contrasting stripes'.
  18. None of this would have blown up if it wasn't fer the bloody Spanish!?#!*
  19. Who nicked them? Regan and Carter? I hope they had back-up! "Bosh! You're nicked slag, get yer trousers on!" I don't mean to demean the weight of any crime that has been committed, but the reportage of this incident ... you'd have thought that Bin Laden had been spotted having a lard pastie in the Darwen End. Hysterical tabloids ... as ever. It really is soooooo pathetic isn't it? What a world we live in eh? Worst is that its prob my generations fault that its gone that way! As for the Local plod...... The attention that they have given to this non- event is rivalled only in stupidity in excessively breaking the speed limit and using flashing blue lights simply to get Peter friggin Andre from the Lancashire border and into town last week to switch on the embarrassingly pathetic Christmas lights (they were already on when they met him 20 miles away btw) .......... I just wonder what would have happened if they had caused an accident? Easy - it wouldn't have been reported, like much that goes on in East Lancs. All this police time at taxpayers cost due to media hysteria. And this at a time when the mounted division is being considered for axing to save money!
  20. How did you know that?
  21. I can safely say I have never felt such sympathy for the Lancashire Constabulary!! Clearly they've drawn a blank with their other lines of enquiry - circulating his picture on all available media, tracing who bought the seat, the scarf with the mysterious "Z" etc.. - and have had to resort to Hughesy's impression of the distinctive Australian-Brummie-Cockney accent! Expect Loyd Grossman to be in custody by this time tomorrow! ......or even Gerald Jackson!
  22. Graeme Le Saux 73 votes [48%] Bill Eckersley 56 votes[36%] Keith Newton 11 votes[7%] So the answer is - NO! With 2,900 voters unaccounted for, a recount is clearly required.
  23. Den How close was Eckersley v Le Saux? Any chance of another shoot out?
