  1. i'll spit my dummy out if we don't at least offer him it!!! Don't think who the players want will be a major factor if a different person is installed....But its Hughes anyway so theres no problem! While we're at it, can we spit the DRUMMER out at the same time?
  2. Has he got a racist dad who used to like darts?
  3. ....Not quite. Who would you put on the tannoy?
  4. Hot favourites are not usually apointed at Ewood - expect a surprise. I am, however, ruling myself out.
  5. Thats it then - he'll be offered asst at Bamber Bridge
  6. Don´t stop there! Hoddle to BURNL*Y. We´d have a right laugh.
  7. planetfootball.com, which runs stories from skysports. Ta RR
  8. Well it seems like I am the last remaining Flitcroft fan left amongst Rovers supporters. Personally i can't wait to see him back on the pitch. I reckon he would do alright in the holding position that Souness pigheadedly insisted Matteo would play. Flitcroft is after all the longest serving player at the club having played a whopping 241 games (plus 16 from the bench) and he deserves a chance to show he can still play. ...........Not quite the last. He's far better than Matteo, Gresko.
  9. Sounds like the work of the tannoy man.....
  10. Don't panic. Tony always gets a few games and press conferences to tell the world how he doesn't want t'job. He won't want to have had his suit dry cleaned for nothing!
  11. He must also be in with a shout for the 'Manager' and 'Chairman' awards.
  12. It is always make or break if you think about it. A successful manager will be poached leaving the club on the verge of promotion/silverware and a poor one will be sacked leaving a club on the brink of relegation/the Dingle League.
  13. Applications have not always been required for previous appointments. Kenny Dalglish was approached and I believe Howard Kendall was appointed after Jimmy Armfield was asked for advice by the Rovers Board. (both successful appointments at the time). So Rovers, don't wait for the postman, choose your man and go for him!
  14. They don't do 'bizarre pies', but the meat and pot are smashing.
  15. If you mean Dick Advocaat, where was it reported?
  16. Allardyce has all the appeal of Stevie Kindon - another retired motorised sideboard. Long may he stay at the Breezeblock Stadium.
  17. Can you give us a source Hughesy? Bearing in mind that your Auntie's stepdad's goldfish's psychiatrist doesnt count........? Why not? It should be a level playing field!
  18. This would be my XI Friedel Neill Amoruso Short Gray Emerton Flitcroft Ferguson Gallagher Dickov Stead Not sure if its ever played together before. Thommo would start before Emerton if he was fit. Parkes is sure to recall Flitty. BTW Bryan, I was right about Ewood Parkes and the laundry - just remember where you heard it first.........
  19. I accept what you're saying here, and I acknowledge that I'm taking it out of its context a little but I'm sure I've seen a quote on one of these threads this week that states that Rovers' Premiership record under Souness contained more defeats than victories (something like 45 defeats to 40 wins) If you are referring to tangible success ie trophies and European qualification then I accept that point. I know stats can be manipulated to paint whatever picture you want to portray, however losing more games than you win can't be good in anyone's view. The Blackburn "paying public" are deserting in their droves because, over the last 18 months or so, they are being asked to pay more in ticket prices for a poorer standard of football. Simple as that. The hardcore season ticket holders will continue to support year after year but the "casual" supporter, the bandwagon supporter if you like, is going to jump off just as quickly as he/she jumped on circa 1995 because they're not getting any 'entertainment value' I'm looking forward to the new manager a) being a popular choice being tactically proficient c) having a good backroom team around him d) introducing some entertaining football e) being able to cure our defensive frailties it's not too much to ask is it ?!! BLIMEY!!
  20. Crompton - must have been a hero for ALL his endeavours for BRFC.
  21. BTW CB, I've been to Shrigley Hall and it's vv posh.
  22. Rovers have always played 4-4-2 in my memory. Souey's tactics for the 1st season promoted had the benefit of surprise. I really fear for Jon Stead with no Cole and Gally absent.
  23. Don't think the old Matt Jansen exists anymore.
  24. ...... and a new tannoy man!
