  1. Hmmmm. England's result into perspective? The Netherlands lack cutting edge and a decent striker. As shown against us - 27 shots - aside from the 3 gifted goals they were all rubbish - and they were rubbish again tonight. Though of course they'll blame it all on 'being tired'. That keeper though
  2. This Netherlands team looks very poor compared to Holland.
  3. At least you can still celebrate a penalty ?
  4. Also. The Scots weren't singing "God save the Queen!". Why not? Isn't she the Queen of The United Kingdom?
  5. Finished just in time to turn over for the real competition. Though it's about time England had their own national anthem.
  6. The Penalty KINGS!
  7. Croatia's equalizer in last summer's world cup semi-final should never have been allowed. Foot up, dangerous play. End of. England players are going to have to wise up to VAR pretty quick. Back then, Walker (yes the useless one) should have at least headed the defenders foot then rolled around on the floor holding his head.
  8. Whatever happened to the VAR thread? I was going to post in there the other day but couldn't find it.
  9. I can hardly believe it's been 25 years since USA 94. Where I recall that 'splitting the game into quarters' and 'making the goals bigger' were on the table requests in the competition's run up.
  10. There should be 20 Seconds post VAR review goal celebrations allowed when goals are finally awarded. Though any celebrations shouldn't spill over into the opposition's half.
  11. Yup. I hope they are going to be consistent. There's some kind of foul during every single corner these days. The goals ruled out should be superceded by the penalty count.
  12. With all the England v Scotland WC excitement I almost forgot about today's amazing men's 3rd place play-off v Switzerland - where I think England will find their level.
  13. It's a myth that football is some quick flowing game. The ball is not even in play for a lot of the game. There's also so much time wasting - pretending to be injured (cheating) etc. going on in football that waiting for VAR decisions is hardly going to break the game up. The problem I have with VAR decisions is that they are seemingly decided by some 'hidden forces' that are not made accountable for their decisions. For me it'ss got to be Ref at the screen making the final decision with full transparency (including letting - or showing the crowd what's going on).
  14. England? With Southgate to Chelsea? ?
  15. It was ridiculous to drop Plunket for the Pakistan game. Also Rashid and Ali should never play in the sane team unless the pitch is turning sideways. They seem to take it in turns to be terrible and they are both worse than one day number 11s with the bat. Root may as well bowl if we need a few extra 'twirlers'.
  16. It can't be that bad. There's no rolling around on the floor for half the game for a start. And unless money has changed things in the last few years, I recall the lionesses showed a lot more passion in the last world cup than the men did.
  17. It might take a bit of getting used to. They should at least make it like American Football and let the ref explain wtf is going on to the crowd - as that part about not knowing wtf is going on is terrible Incidentally France had a goal chalked off by VAR in their current Women's world cup game, whilst everyone was waiting to restart the game from the centre spot.
  18. The 2nd and 3rd goals were that bad that you almost forgot how bad the first goal was. It was pretty bad.
  19. I was going to say, if Lingard could shoot he would be playing for a top 4 team.
  20. Where is Oleksandr Usyk at these days? I was hoping he was going to try stepping up to heavyweight and bring a bit of much needed Rocky back to boxing.
  21. Cheer up jim. The Women's World Cup starts tomorrow ??
