  1. He seemed to deal with the Birmingham fan ruffle ok. Perhaps he's maturing?
  2. Regarding the current cricket review system - what is the point on the 'front view spin vision'??
  3. A lot of their fans seem to have flown over for the game/tournament.
  4. As I recall it was a pretty poor league which we seemed to coast in the end. Also, surely someone noted that all the teams that went down from the Championship came straight back up (including poor poor Rotherham) - that's how bad the standard was.
  5. I didn't think details of the traffic incident/investigation had been released. Just something about the car leaving the road and bursting into flames. I thought that kind of thing only happened in films.
  6. I've found that to be the case at every single T20 Finals day. I rather think it's something to do with ticket companies being able to scalp their tickets on the resale sites they also own at ridiculous prices. It's all one massive scam that nobody seems to be looking into (unless there's a public outcry - like there is with the few charity concerts that make the press and unlimitedly something is done about it). It royally pisses me off. As the emergence of those legal scalper sites that the ticket companies are in cahoots with mean you can't even find a 'good price' as was often possible when people used to resell on eBay (if you were savy and had patience).
  7. Twas an alright night. Just about made it home before 6am. As for the football. I don't really see how some can say Spuds played well and deserved to win. They basically got 'Italianed' out of it, the game was as good as over after 2 mins. Liverpool didn't have to force the issue after going ahead and having a decent keeper made the victory look really easy - (obviously poor for the neutral that was expecting an unnecessary attacking performance). If it was an Italian team people would be saying it was a classic win. Possession (that Spuds had) doesn't mean anything when the other team basically let you have it due to tactics. Deli Ali was absolutely gash as usual. Surely if the 'poor man's Dack' Grealish can show he can play at Premiership level he'll have to get the nod for England.
  8. What a surprise. Glassjaw destroyed by someone they picked out of the crowd. When is the rematch? Yawns! The true champ is Tyson, Tyson Fury!
  9. I'm going out. I don't want either team to win it, I dislike both. Watching in a bar and making a night of it is the only way to negate that (other than becoming a hermit). It is Saturday night after all....?
  10. Yeah, and even after all that goes...there is the 'real internet' (where 99% of what's out there resides). I guess using indexed search engines is rather like paying for one of those massive encyclopedia collections and only receiving one page....?
  11. It seems you pay around £20 a month extra through Sky to get 'the red button access', as you can get SkySports packages cheaper with other companies like Now (though they don't offer the red button service). It's still a rip off though, especially through those companies where you have to pay for 'paid TV packages' before you can even add Sports. As you mentioned, perhaps the worst of all is that the games are often split between Sky and BT - so if you want to watch everything you have to pay for BOTH. Or . . .get a decent boat . . .and . . . . you know the score. Though that's getting more difficult these days as they are getting banned and shut down more frequently than ever. I miss the days of my 1mb (then upgraded for free to 2mb) cable connection where I used a certain program and everything used to work perfectly.
  12. Only in the UK. So for anyone else, it's 'find the smoothest flowing river' again.
  13. Rich man must pay for rich man's sport.
  14. The Uefa cup final was supposedly live on youtube too. They don't seem to advertise it so well.
  15. If only we could find a keeper that can catch like Ben Stokes.
  16. Don't they call it 'diversity' or something? ?
  17. Cometh the day. Although I'm certainly not as confident as all the 'English loving pundits' seem to be, we probably have a team that's at least capable on their day of beating anyone. The format should at least ensure we make the semis - I just hope we get the 'inevitable batting collapse' out in one of the group games and that it doesn't end up costing us. I still think we are missing a decent spinner - which we've been searching for ever since the end of Swann. Our bits and pieces ones are generally too expensive. I also don't subscribe to the 'deep batting line-up' myth. I think all the top teams are capable right down to the last couple of players (and probably better than England in those games you may need to clear the ropes to win it). I really wouldn't want to see a Rashid coming out when you need 12 off 5 balls (or in a similar/worse scenario). Just to use one of the recent warm-up games as an example as it's fresh in the mind . . . West Indies . . . their number eight hit 54 from 24 balls, number nine 24 from 16 balls and a number 10 that smashed 21 from 9 balls. And even going back to the game England won easily against Pakistan, their no.11 scored 28 at a decent strike rate with some old skool hitting. I'm not confident that if it came down to it, our lower order would be able to up the ante. There's still a lot to prove for those guys that are 'living off first class stats against Northants 2nd string attack'. Can you ever go against Oz? - especially now the cry babies are back. I'd say we are one of the favourites, but it' s all up in the air . . . . .Bring it on! Ps - if anyone knows of a nice river I can sail down. . . . . .
  18. Ozil off ? I didn't even realise he was playing. Give me J-Lo any day.
  19. Seems like the commentators couldn't get to Baku. Seemingly commentating from a toilet cubicle in, probably Milton Keynes.
  20. My Uefa final half time report: "Thank God the Cricket World Cup starts tomorrow".
  21. Just when you thought Sensible Soccer was a thing of the past.
  22. Andrews because of that wig.
  23. The same council involved in the paedo taxi drivers cover up? Surely not??
  24. All credit to Steve Bruce for laying the foundations
