So essentially it's all the lad from Burnley's fault for pretending he was ok. With four-ball Ali as the spinner England had absolutely no chance being a bowler light.

What a Game! Just what I needed after watching 85% of Mowbray's Crapburn Rovers on iFollow. Though I had my head in my hands after the first over - and wasn't too happy after 10 overs either. Not full, but a decent crowd. It was perfect! Less queuing time for beer etc. Also, whilst I'd never want to bemoan the classic that is The Roses Clash - it's so much better when you get a big crowd that isn't 'the sell-out game' as there is a great mix of people that like a beer and also like (and care) about the cricket too. The Roses Clash can be a bit annoying at times when you have people that are simply 'just there for the beer' and because their mates got tickets. Watch the game FFS!! Did anyone watch it on Sky? I received a few messages from a friend watching. He said there was lots of swearing/sledging, like 'Hit that for f**king six" - "F**k Off!" etc. I must admit it did seem a bit spicy (great atmosphere too - at least after over 13ish) but you obviously don't get the stump cam from the stands. Fielding was immense especially for the 2nd half of Notts innings, though I thought the missed stumping from Villas might have cost the game (and it nearly did after that atrocious 19th over). I don't quite know why but out of the Northern group teams that I've regularly seen over the year's I've always had a slightly illogical perhaps?) dislike for Notts, so it was extra special to get one over them. Still top of the league! ? Only bad thing in the end was that I got on that train that passes through Burnley by mistake. It seemed to take forever. ?

Hmmmm. Now might be the time to nick off to Old Trafford to watch a real team (no not THAT one). The one where even the 19th over sloggers have a better defence than Rovers do. Enjoy folks! Hope Charlton can help us turn this one around.

Oggy Oggy Oggy!

Mowbray could be umpiring at The Ashes on this showing.

Chocolate bars are half the size and twice the price. That's how business seems to work these days.

Yep, for all the Happy Clapping here that stat alone is simply appalling.
-
Lol. This has the Tone of another groundhog special. I was just about to say before the goal that this has got Bristol City away last season written all over it.

Rumour has it that Paul Downing was sold because Mensa tea boy Tony didn't want to get confused between him and Stewy.

Ali has fast become England's Jason Lowe. To think, our second greatest opener of modern times (Leach) was dropped. Ali is gonna need a minimum of 5 wickets (top and middle order) to redeem himself in this match. It's almost hard to believe that Australia only had 122 on the board when 8 down. . . . .? What's going on with the lad from Burnley? He's gone from being 'finished' to supposedly running around within the space of 24 hours. I do hope it's nothing sinister - it seems down right weird.

So, when The Aussies aren't sandpapering the ball the umpires are changing it for them.

Root bottling it in the 50s yet again. ?How many times? How many times?
-
Is that for real? That's simply appalling. Anyway I read the 100 format is for people that don't like cricket in any of it's current forms so I would think it's not aimed at anyone that posts on this thread.

Charlton have been our 'can we play you every week' team in recent times. Anything less than a win will be an absolute shocker - on a par with some of the opening turd we've seen in the last few years - getting trounced at home by Norwich, losing to Division 3 Southend and letting a terrible Ipswich side steal a point.

September at OT? Take your ski coat.

I forgot that part. That for me makes the whole thing unwatchable - kind of like someone telling you what happens before it does (even a split second makes a difference) . . and as they were 'hardcoded' together you couldn't change it. I actually preferred those times (during the 3rd division days) when they just had the camera mic on and sometimes forgot to turn on the separate commentary box feed.
-
Is anyone renewing? It was pretty poor last season, in fact it actually went down in 'quality' from the first season. They switched off camera mic (which had the crowd noise and atmosphere) in favour of the commentary from the toilet cubicle - which often included the idiots turning it on late (meaning no sound at all for large periods). Some of the picture quality seemed to dip in and out as well - ranging from Sega-Mega drive to sub HD.

I've watched almost every game of the WC including a lot of the post match stuff. Root seems to be immune from criticism, yet I've seen loads of complaints about other players - such as Dhoni (even when Dhoni had a strike rate of 130).
