  1. Someone needs a haircut.
  2. How's the Mowbrometer?
  3. Somewhere in an alternative universe we added the money spent on our 2 super strikers together and instead bought 1 super dooper striker.
  4. Here he comes. Our other zillion pound man.
  5. I have to say this Johnson guy reminds me a bit of David Dunn (at age 39).
  6. I can confirm it's you. Though the camera angles for this game are very poor console football game-ish. 42% rating in C&VG.
  7. For all that huffing and puffing we've had zero shots on target again. For all our defensive frailties we're still lacking a decent goal scorer.
  8. Crap closing down.
  9. He must have a fake birth certificate. There's no way that guy isn't over 30 by now.
  10. Missing guilt edged chances.? The game is really open. But this is the way you have to play when you can't defend.
  11. GOAL ACTION ON RADIO LANCASHIRE! Decent enough looking attack. Atrocious defence. It's got 4-2 to Fulham written all over it.
  12. No matter what the forecast it always ends up being a 50-50 decision whether to go to OT or not. Supposedly there's another storm due around 6pm (the big 80% one) - so it could all hinge on that. I once went when it was tipping it down in East Lancs, yet when I got there it was a scorcher and I had to borrow some factor 50+ The World Cup is on show tonight isn't it? ? Surely it's worth going for that alone.
  13. It's worth remembering that it's STILL 3 hours until the scheduled full 40 overs game start. The weather can change loads. Thunderstorm weather is better than those days when drizzle is forecast. It was thundery black in Blackburn 10 minutes ago, now the sun is out.
  14. It's the big one again tonight. 23,500 sell out. I notice that a few re-sell tickets have become available on the Old Trafford website. I suspect they are possibly from people that have decided not to make the journey after seeing the potential weather that's in store. (30-60% chance of rain during the game hours - Whatever that means). I'm not sure if I would chance it. Unless you are a member or have paid for hospitality OT isn't exactly a comfortable place to be in the rain. I'm sure they'll do their very damned best to get a 5-5 bish bash in at least. Especially considering the Sky TV pressure.
  15. I don't really care who the captain is. I don't think they have any say in picking the team or making decisions on pre and in-game tactics etc. Most captains these days don't even seem to gee up or inspire the team any more than the next player.
  16. Best not to mention the scoring stats of our 5 zillion dollar man then.
  17. Darn. A guy that scored 10 times as many goals last season as our seven billion dollar man.?
  18. Hopefully Fulham are going to be 'The Sunderland' of this year. If not I can see us getting a boshing. 3-1 with us scoring a late goal as they ease off. Maybe even by Brereton.
  19. That could be his highlight of the season right there.
  20. You guys could end up with a depressing summer then - Rovers look crap and England look more likely to get a 4-5 test pasting rather than winning 3 - especially as the groundsman seem to have gone back to preparing pitches for the opposition.
  21. As I said earlier on in this thread, I would have taken the World Cup win over The Ashes given a choice. So the summer for me has already been a winner, however why not have your cake and eat it, with both?? At the end of the day, the first test was lost largely due to the selectors cowardice/incompetence. The same thing that almost ended up costing England the aforementioned World Cup. The only real surprise in there was Burns coming good in the first innings. All the pathetic performances were thoroughly predictable. I suspect the truth about the Anderson injury thing will probably only come out in a book at a later date. But seriously what kind of fitness test did they do on him? - he managed only 4 overs before a previously known injury came back and ended his game. It sounds Roversesque.
  22. Sending Anderson out to bat. That's something straight out of Mowbray's book. Ridiculous decision given the circumstances. . .
  23. Considering that one of Mowbray's things is to continually play players 'out of position' one of the worst things he's done is not play Bell as a left-winger (as that's pretty much the only place he's looked any good).
