  11. That’s what his issue is with us. The scouse two-hat is scarred for life.
  12. Likewise I arranged an evening meeting at work without realising it clashed with a Rovers game. I’ll be doing it again a few times over the next few weeks!
  13. That’s because he is a good manager. I hated him as a player but would have taken him at Ewood in a heartbeat.

  16. First thing I've won since I hung my boots up in the mid 90s! (Cue old darwen blue with "and you didn't win much then either" heh heh) Thanks very much, I'll post a pic of me wearing it when it arrives. Still a size medium by the way Mark! (Fitting that it has ended up going to Scotland, given the subject matter of the question and answer)
  17. Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
  18. The Jam - The Dreams of Children
  19. David Soul - Silver Lady ???
  20. Paul Weller - A Bullet For Everyone
  21. We will never know. He was certainly an instinctive finisher who could also put a good cross in and will always be a legend to me. I do however know that the following strikers who have followed in his footsteps were all better players than Simon Garner: Speedie Archibald Newell Sutton Shearer Jansen McCarthy Bellamy Santa Cruz Cole Yorke Yakubu And that is just off the top of my head.
  22. Spot on. Terrific post.
  23. I know mate. I did struggle with leaving out all the players from our (old) 3rd and 2nd division days, but for all the likes of Faz, Killer, Brothhead, Barker, McKenzie etc were wonderful at that level and gave us some amazing memories, if this is based on ability I have seen at least 10 Rovers forwards that were better than Garns. And even if we were picking just from that era, Archibald and Speedie were both twice the player Garner was. I put him in as a sub for sentimental reasons only. Doesn’t affect his legend status though ?
