These two sentences seem to contradict each other. Walking the walk means taking responsibility, which he appears to be doing, for that particular decision. -

Ah, Midge Ure. The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love With Someone. After 40 years I can finally reveal that it was me that annoyed Pete Shelley to the point of them walking off stage at KGH by repeatedly throwing beer mats at him. I was young and pissed, sorry if I spoilt anyone's night....... -
Not having a go at you here Chaddy, far from it, but I had remembered this post from ages ago and thought "Good on you Stokesy" .........fast forward to the trial and day one of the evidence seems to paint a slightly different picture, though granted, we have to hear all sides of the story yet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-45082248 I truly hope the bouncer is spinning a yarn.

King Kenny had the most effective big arse I've ever seen on a football pitch - In his pomp he was amazing at holding off and turning defenders with it

Am I missing something old chap? Where’s the linked word? -
First memories - the smell of pipe smoke and piss and little Johnny Price looking resplendent in his Rovers kit against a gloomy Ewood Park backdrop - that would have been one of Ken Furphy's first games in charge. Favourite memory - The unveiling of King Kenny. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. One of the few times I've cried at a football game that day (the others being Wembley 1987 and 1992, VE Day game v Newcastle at Ewood just after Noel Brotherston and Micky Heaton had died and shortly afterwards at Anfield - both in 1995, Cardiff 2002 and Ewood Park v Norwich (I think) when that poem to mark Uncle Jack's recent passing was put up on the big screen).

Indeed he does. He reminds me so much of Alan Hansen in his prime when he does so as well.

Yes I think that is precisely why I like the kid. He doesn't hide. I understand where you are coming from with the Sweden thing but I think it is exactly players like Sterling, with quick feet, that can get the better of the more rigid 'traditional' defenders. Funnily enough I think Kane might be more to their liking.

I have the same feeling. We need that lad in the team, watch what the opposition do whenever he gets the ball (retreat), and despite being low in confidence he never hides and always shows for the ball. Can't believe some of the stick he gets - blimey we even need a scapegoat when things are going quite well!?
