  1. The Faces - Sweet Lady Mary
  2. As the actual title is 'Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3' I'll keep the thread going with: Tim Hardin - Part of the Wind
  3. His dad, Alfie, always said he'd become an accomplished player. On a serious note well done to the young Rovers, and to the die hards who braved the cold night to go and watch it.
  4. Broken Arrow - Pixie Lott
  5. Their explanation was that the visuals on the big screen are low res and therefore the players couldn't see the hot spot replay properly and didn't pick up the clear mark on the bottom of the bat in the way that the third umpire would have been able to. Regardless, it was still very poor by both the Aussies there.
  6. Lucidity - Tame Impala
  7. I Was Made to Love Magic - Nick Drake
  8. Portishead - Glory Box
  9. Everything But the Girl - Each and Every One
  10. Suarez is the perfect centre forward. Whenever I've seen him play 'live' it always surprises me how tall he is. Brilliant in the air and with either foot - he scores goals of all types and has a Dalglish-like awareness of the game around him so brings team mates into play as well. Wonderful player. Just a shame one or two silly incidents have sullied his reputation.
  11. Exactly a year ago I had the pleasure of being in the Camp Nou when Barcelona played Levante and won 5-0, with Messi (3), Neymar Jnr and Suarez (with a spectacular overhead kick) all scoring. I can honestly say that, even as a 50 odd year old, it was one of the best football experiences of my life (along with holding aloft the European Cup in my Rovers shirt - see profile pic on the left!).
  12. Never mind the passed penalty, what about that piece of skill from Neymar Jnr when he flicked the ball between his heels and up and over his back, head, and the opponent, on the run and perfectly into his own path. Just being able to do that standing still is beyond the abilities of most professionals.
  13. The Style Council - Have You Ever Had it Blue?
  14. Ah, I can get the one in I was pipped on further up this page: Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) - David Bowie
  15. The Ballad of John and Yoko - The Beatles
  16. Prefab Sprout - One of the Broken
  17. Craig Hignett is the new Hartlepool manager http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35546240
  18. Nick Drake - From the Morning
  19. With you on that but my point was, there were plenty who didn't rate that pair when they first played for us and would have scoffed at the time if you'd predicted they would both win league championship medals, (whether at Rovers or not)
  20. Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) - David Bowie Ah, we posted at the same time there BC In that case - Gemini Syndrome - Eternity
  21. People would have said the same about Mark Atkins, and possibly Jason Wilcox too.
  22. As someone who has lived in Glasgow for over 20 years I can report that it has only got worse since the referendum. I used to get quite angry when the sports shops on Sauchiehall Street started selling the football shirts of the three teams who had been drawn in England's group for whatever latest tournament Scotland had failed to qualify for. These days I just pity them. The press (particularly the Daily Record) will whip them up into a frenzy before the world cup qualifiers against England. It gets quite nasty at times. (apologies, I know this is s0d all to do with the six nations!)
  23. The Emperor's New Clothes - Sharp
  24. Forest did it in the late 70s too, and then followed it up with two European Cup triumphs. That - for me - is the greatest achievement ever by an English club.
  25. Home Again - Edwyn Collins
