Ref decides instead on not giving us PKs he’ll get directly involved by playing a 1-2 around Buckley -

Hard to believe we don’t have an outlet and don’t have numbers in back. -

Phillips play with the ball at his feet needs a lot of work. His a big physical player but only plays simple passes sideway and back. Often plays it out to safety. Good decision vs giving the ball away but far from what’s desired. Still has a lot of development left -

Ayala the only one who showed up. The passing to and through the middle has been unwatchable. Off target, no anticipation…most players on the back foot. Has to be 2 or 3 changes at half. the only “good” this at the half is we’re only down 1. A string second half could still see us take points. Has to be better, but we’re still in it. -

I thought Hedges was off the pace against WBA. Gally was down a few times in the last 20. Probably getting a rest. JRC an obvious inclusion after Buckley having to play right back at the weekend -
Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

We should have a replacement lined up regardless of the sale. We never replaced Armstong, and even if we don't sell BBD, aside from promotion, he's surely gone by next year. We should be bringing in another central forward even if BBD is here next month. -

It really comes down to what his representatives are telling him. On one hand if he’s 3/4 choice here he’s just one of a few developmental projects at Spurs. Miles from the first team and most likely slated for 23s or a loan to league 1. Here he’s playing meaningful minutes at a higher level than and building a reputation. How much higher wages would he be on at Spurs at 17 in the 23s? Markanday’s offer wasn’t so much more that it was worth the chance of regular first team football. I’d say Sit him down with Markanday and let him talk about getting lost at Spurs, but Markanday isn’t getting much more attention here at the moment. -

Injuries may have provided him the opportunity but with a third start and strong performance today he might have leapt past Carter. It’s not as if Carter has solidified his position in the first team, so the opportunity to make that spot his is there. -

Maybe both are true. He signs with us then we sell him to Spurs? -

If we take that approach, we should also make heavy investments in the side and prepare for an embargo next season. Take the parachute payments to get back up 2 years later. -

Nice can take their 10 million offer a bugger off. No way should he be sold for 10 million. -

The main criticisms of expected goals (xG) often appear in scenarios where the metric isn’t actually being applied correctly. The most common of which is at the game level. The team that has the higher xG in a match doesn’t necessarily imply that they should’ve won the game. xG is only measuring chance quality and not the expected outcome of the game. Exactly as the old saying suggests, goals do change games and the score line influences how teams play. If a team takes an early lead, they don’t necessarily ‘need’ to generate more chances and we often expect to see the opposition generate more goal scoring opportunities for the remainder of the game in pursuit of a comeback. -

Van Den Berg on the bench for Liverpool -
He fit in nicely.

None seem long term. Ash was cramping. Britain took a shot to the head.
-
The foul didn’t really play into the goal. As the corner was played in he was marked by Travis. He blatantly elbowed Trav in the head on the far post. Should have stopped the play there. We won the header, it fell to Diangana Ash closed him down and it deflected in. Nothing TK could do about it.

Should have gotten a straight Red for the elbow to Travis on the corner they scored from.
