  1. Players now a days spend a lot of time on artificial pitches this time of the year n tho that pitch looks decent there are definitely bobbles n it’s not always easy to keep your balance I know it sounds like an excuse but if your trying to play technically through a team these small things matter. rotherham are beating us physically all over the pitch and we can’t match them because we are trying to ticky tacky around them but if it’s not spot on it doesn’t work. we are now 2 down as a result.
  2. One thing I’ve noticed in the Championship over the last few winters is that once the pitches start to deteriorate our form drops considerably. We obviously have the better footballers today but conditions don’t always allow for over technical football and we have struggled to just grind out results and put physical performances in that are sometimes needed at time of the year. Like we have a lightweight midfield n our wing backs are a bit soft too. We are lacking a bit of muscle when it gets a bit tough.
  3. Fair synopsis. We just need to put our chances away. But unfortunately they are 1 up n will put everything behind the ball so question is have we the quality to break them down
  4. To be fair Dack was not up to scratch pre World Cup and in a normal season he would have struggled to get back into the team. But to be fair to him he listened to JDT n got himself fit over the break for the WC n deserves to be in the team but prior he was lumaxing around and definitely was not up to pace
  5. Sorry to say but Morton is a far better football player than Buckley. He’s 20 walked straight into the squad and is running our midfield, he’s a real decent player n with time will mature into a very decent player. I like Buckley but he gives the ball away far to often he’s not the same player as Mortan not as technical gifted or as composed on the ball. Last season when he was a regular he would rush attacks looking to play the ball too quickly because we wasn’t comfortable building the play and when we were in form and it worked it looked very efficient but in the grand scheme of things It wasn’t good enough to get us in the playoffs. I do agree Morton could defend better.
  6. I think we approached the game well, looked to take the pitch out of the attach by playing some nice weighted balls in behind to try n open them up a bit. Definitely the better team n Cardiff never really looked like scoring. Got the job done well done lads 💪💪
  7. The pitch is hardly in the condition for playing overly technical football. Get the 3 points is all we need to do. If they do that it’s a good job done n we move on. Being critical for the sake of being critical is just hot air wasted for when there’s a reason to be annoyed.
  8. I’m over from Ireland visiting my Dad n of course joining him for today’s game. I think today will be a real test n will be happy to be flying home this evening with at least a draw. If we get a win I think it will really set down a statement of this season’s intentions. I think it’s easy to over look West Brom’s start but they have draw 2 difficult fixtures in Middlesbrough and Watford and beaten Sheffield Utd in the cup so they are clearly not going to be an easy team to beat. I think the conditions will favour our style of play, just need to go hard at them and see if we can open them up COYB 💙🤍
  9. Watch the highlights between Ireland n Scotland from May, he scored an absolute dinger n had a very strong performance. He’s young n will definitely get better
  10. To be honest my opinion of Dack in the last few seasons is that he has this sense of entitlement to be in the team, both times when he returned the team took a dip in form n only for he’s been injured our lasting memory was him tearing it up in L1 but that’s a far cry from the top end of the championship. After 2 bad injuries on the trott and now we are a promotion pushing side I’m not sure if he is at the level we all think he is at. I get the impression he isn’t the hardest working player at training n I’m sure if JDT isn’t falling for that ‘I’m the clubs top player’ vib Dack n the club have pushed over the last 2 years. I think he needs to prove himself n has to work his bollox off to get back in the team.
  11. I think that half proves why Fulham are the best team in the League, thought the lads pressed well but they are more than capable of dealing with the pressure and once through our attacking line they have a lot more space exposing Johnson. people giving Pickering guff but he has been a bit exposed and Wilson is a class act n very very quick. Thought Dolan had his leg taken from underneath him rather than Mitrovitic who just puts his leg into the defender n then throws himself on the floor. 1st goal was from our mistake second goal might not of happened if the ref made the right decision. JRC coming on is also a massive sucker blow as he just isn’t at the races. 3rd choice RWB by far. Prob should have dropped Giles into RWB n brought Gally on as a target n moved Dolan out wide. missing BBD n I think Rothwell would be better suited than Johnson for this game, but to be fair to Fulham are the best team in the League n playing like it.
  12. I think from a defensive point of view he is fantastic and his positives are really shown in our quick press and counter attacking way of playing. However, I think he could improve from a technical point of view and our lack of possession this season is due to the fact that we struggle to hold the ball in midfield and I would say he is the weakest link from that point of view. I think as part of his development is to take more control of games. We are very one dimensional and if our press and counter attack is not working we need someone in midfield to put their foot on the ball and hold possession for a period of time. In recent game our patients has been shocking and we have been constantly trying to force the quick counter. At times you need to just slow things down slightly and hold possession for longer periods in order to tire the opposition out and to stretch them defensively. But we have just being booting it back to them. Travis has been a massive improvement this season but he still needs to improve parts of his game if we are going to get promoted
  13. This game will be a different game to the one at Ewood. Our shape has changed from the 4-3-3 that in my opinion never really worked constantly to the 3-4-1-2 shape that we have now. Our defence has significantly improved since that 7-0 battering where we have only conceded 9 goals in 18 games which is a fantastic change to what has been a number of very frustrating years of a very leaky defence. So fair play to lads in the back and the coaching staff for making the changes and turning it around. I think if the players can get the 7-0 out of their heads and approach this game positively they can get a result and a point away from home against this Fulham team would be fantastic. I think we need Dolan in there again to really up the press and make it hard for Fulham to build from the back. I’m going for a 1-1 all draw. Also going to take a massive gamble by saying Gally will get the goal.
  14. As much as I’m not a fan of Gally absolutely delighted for him he won the game for us and hopefully he gets a buzz off that we need him to get the goals when BBD isn’t. Great win in a very very tight game super 3 points n a big shout out to the defence who were brilliant again.
  15. A wet pitch will always tire you out a bit more n it’s been a long season for most of them, but it only takes one chance, come on rovers, maybe Dolan on for a bit of energy?
  16. I reckon it will be a be a very tight affair but I reckon the lads will pip it 1-0. I’m going to say Khadra with the goal
  17. It’s a very difficult arguement to have whether we would or would not be better with AA in the team now. I thought last season was mainly defined by our constant defensive injuries. We couldn’t keep any of them fit enough n we leaked goals galore. However, AA was rather selfish n at times if he was more of a team player he could have created more for others but you can’t deny his contribution last season this season has been completely different we have had consistency n BBD has replaced AA with the goals whilst kadra n Dolan when supporting work their socks off which AA didn’t do so it’s hard to know would we be as good with him I’m going to say not. I don’t think the others would put the same effort in if the were watching AA saunter about. To be fair to BBD he puts a good shift in defensively n it feeds in with the rest of the team.
  18. BBD was 21 12months ago Gallagher is 26 n we are still waiting, I watched him closely against Coventry n he scored in that game and had an assit arguably on paper his better games but he was easily fault for one the goals and was a big part of the momentum swing in that game as he constantly gave the ball away. He was woeful in that second half and ruined all the good he did in the first. This may sound harsh but I fell that part of our current form is that he hasn’t been in the team due to injury and has only been subbed on when we have been in the lead in the last couple of games. He’s far too inconsistent imo.
  19. No I’m aware of that more the fact that within a 21 year period they have managed to start a new club and return to a division just below where they were. Great story really.
  20. Also Wimbledon FC who have had to start from scratch n now back in L1
  21. After the run we’ve had and watching us cruise past Birmingham on Saturday in the fashion we did, playing Hull away should be a game that we are looking to take all 3 points from. They're in bottom 3 for their home record this season and they are coming up against a group who are just oozing with confidence, I’m going with a 2 nil win for Rovers. BBD n Rothwell on the score sheet.
  22. I think Gallagher has been money poorly spent and I honestly don’t see him as a long term investment but you’d be surprised who might put up a fee for him if they think he’s got potential or are desperate to get a few goals. I’d be happy if we got close to making our money back on him. A possible theory is that the club might decide to sell BBD use some of the money to find a replacement and also use the money to try and tie the 3 down. It’s the sort of the thing I could see the club gambling on and maybe a way of keeping majority of the team together and gamble on a replacement up top that could score enough to keep us in the running for the top six. I think if the club fears that COVID could cause restrictions on fans attendance and/or they don’t think that this good run is going to attract enough supporters back to increase the clubs revenue significantly enough, they might decide that selling BBD now while is in the form of his life for €20 mil is a way of keeping us FFP compliment and bringing in some much needed revenue.
  23. Having a good consistent defence has been key, so many injuries last year was the plague of last season.
