  1. Cheapest but best option in my opinion considering his age. Hart is a major busted flush and Carson is getting on a bit now. He has been in the UK for close to ten years now - so might be settled here. I would imagine there might be English competition for his signature though.
  2. Very popular at West Ham was Adrian - though been number two for past couple of seasons.
  3. After just reading the Sunderland boards - not sure he is good enough anyway.
  4. Nrt even from these parts either, an Irish lad who was picked up by Burnley a couple of seasons ago. Couldn't really give a monkies if we took him off them.
  5. Jimmy Dunne would have to be the younger option if we're looking at him. Still need somebody ready to step straight in. The lad played 21 games for Sunderland last season but before that has played just a handful of games at National League and League 2 level plus a stint in the Scottish Premiership. Not really bothered if he has spent a couple of seasons at Burnley tbh, just that we need somebody like Ajayi to come straight in to a starting spot. As for keeper, if we cannot pick one up permanent this season, go and loan Emiliano Martinez from Arsenal for the season. Was at Reading last season and was apparently excellent for them.
  6. Nuttall and Samuel must be off in some capacity surely.
  7. If a 2 million net spend puts us top of the net spending table in the division, ill remove and eat my union jack boxer shorts. Besides, that really isnt what people are complaining about. We just want the defence fixed.
  8. DG, BB, AA, DS, JN, SG Thats 6 already, Dack would actually make it 7.
  9. Just 2 days ago the Birmingham Mail ran a story saying that Villa wanted him back.
  10. Tuanzebe wont be coming here, Villa want him back.
  11. Doesnt even mean we need to change formation really, just adapt our style of play.
  12. At this rate, we might need to borrow some of your defenders for the game anyway. Thats unless we're going to play a 2 - 6 - 2 formation.
  13. If Gally is Firminho, we really have had Southampton's pants down.
  14. Tall enough to play CB at least. Seriously, you think we need another striker when we're just about to buy our sixth for that position already and only have one spot in the team?
  15. Yup, Travis and Johnson would sit, Dack would assume his usual position and Gally and Rothwell are the wide forwards that we already use anyway. Same thing as what we';re doing anyway tbh.
  16. He doesnt do defence does he? His regret from his time at Coventry was that he didnt buy a CB too. Odd considering it was his position as a player. More odd is that we hardly set up to attack in order to score more than the oppo - we set up to defend.
  17. Thats the hope but this has been the hope for about 300 windows now for me.
  18. Even so, we can barely field two quality CBs and are from having the depth to have three back there
  19. All clubs spend more - we dont spend anything. not going to get much resale from our strikers when we have thirty of them competing for one spot. A spot occupied by an aging player that has no resale value at all. Time to go yet but my god, if defence and GK is not addressed adequately, we're in for a long season (maybe a short one actually as we might be down by xmas).
  20. That 12 million could have bought a Konsa or 2 x Pontus Jannsens. The fact that we have spent it on two strikers in two seasons that are not better than a 34-year old we currently have and have neglected a defence that is one of the worst int he country, is worrying to say the least.
  21. Well he has played as part of a back three before at Bristol but other than that, he is a LB in my book - though most would argue against him being one of those either
  22. We will have 6 strikers on the books who will all ideally have an ambition to play as a striker. We only have one striker position. Their seond option is to play as a wide striker, so thats 5 strikers competing with Chapman, downing and Rothwell for those positions. 8 players competing for two positions. Meanwhile in CB we have an injury prone Lenihan, Mulgrew who most will accept is probably past it now, Williams who is a left back by trade, and Magloire, a young kid who can run really fast but has yet to show many other qualities. oh and an international gk.
