  1. Some will like him, some will not. Its not Adrian then but likely Hart or Carson. Im a little upset
  2. Absolutely - definitely an upgrade in terms of backup/competition to DG. Nuttall and Samuel must surely be off (probably loans). Might even spur BB to kick on now too seeing as he has real competition to grab the spot that DG will surely be vacating in a season or two.
  3. His injury record is about as bad as you can get. Following "rave reviews" in the Championship during the 2012–13 season, Hoban received attention from a number of Premiership clubs.[23] However, he suffered an Achilles tendon injury at the beginning of January.[24] On 8 February 2013, Hoban returned to the starting lineup, in a 2–2 draw against Crystal Palace.[25] However, his return was short–lived when he picked up an ankle injury.[26] After the match, Manager Owen Coyle and local newspaper The Lancashire Telegraph praised Hoban’s performances on his debut.[48] He quickly became a first team regular for the side, playing in the centre–back positions.[49] This last until Hoban suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out for four months. Hoban suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of the 2017–18 season.[57] However, his time with Aberdeen was also severely affected by injury, and in February 2019 he suffered the second anterior cruciate ligament injury of his career.
  4. Lets see how it pans out but if its someone like the Jimmy Dunne kid coming in and nothing more, not sure how anyone can say we have 'yet again' not addressed our glaring issues at the back.
  5. Ah sorry, yes you're right. Got the manager wrong haha.
  6. All teams loan players at this level. If we got promoted you could say that we did so with Harrison Reed playing a good portion of our games or under Coyle, we had DG on loan who was our top scorer. Ideally though, and in the words of TM himself, you shouldn't be building a team around loans. Sure, use them to bolster the squad if good enough or plug a gap for a short period of time but we really do need to be bringing in someone of the required quality permanently. In my opinion, it would be a bit of a mismanagement of funds if we're buying yet another multi-million pound striker but then not bringing in a CB. It is the position that should have been priority and not filled but some last minute loan. I hope we're working on something as has been said by Sharpe but if it ends up being an untested kid from the PL, i wont be happy tbh.
  7. If we were going to bolster with a loan as well as get someone in permanently, that Hector at Chelsea might be a good shout. Was at Wednesday last season and was popular. Think he would be a more realistic target than Tuanzebe.
  8. Must be very mentally challenging to continuously break down with injury. Especially when it always seems to be before the season even gets underway - so he never seems to play many minutes. Still, he might just have been ill as reported.
  9. I am not disputing the signings are bad as such...actually pretty happy with them (so far), just clarifying that this talk of improving the scouting setup has been going on for some time now.
  10. Either way, we're a year and a half down the line from that article and we're still signing Boro players, ex players or players that have previously played for TM. Doesn't suggest much has been done with our scouting no matter whether domestically, across Europe or over the globe (as he put it in that article). All i saw was TM go to Holland to watch a couple of matches.
  11. Goes back much further than that. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15680956.tony-mowbray-looking-to-overhaul-rovers-scouting-and-recruitment-departments-and-awaits-the-green-light-from-venkys/
  12. Well, having read the article again, he didnt actually say that. Still, he didnt chase the money. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17683551.rovers-target-didnt-move-for-money-as-he-joins-fc-utrecht/ Note: Got to love the quality of proofreading at the LET though: Adam Maher revealed he did ‘go after the money’ having followed boss John van den Brom to FC Utrecht.
  13. Wouldn't say its 'that' early to be fair, we have been hearing about it for a couple of years now.
  14. Yup, have to respect his decision. Said he could have got 10x more money from his other offers but wanted to go somewhere he could compete for trophies. Just our luck that we go for one of the only footballers on the planet that are not driven by money.
  15. Think that Maher bloke was about all our European scouting managed to dredge up so far and he opted for less wages and to stay in Holland.
  16. Managed four clubs within a year - doubtful he'll last a year there either.
  17. Why would anyone buy the kit of another team? Unless it was some second team from Spain or Italy or whatnot, cannot get my head around it.
  18. No idea, 7,000 followers though. Besides, not much else to talk about lol
  19. if your hunch is right, that basically means Travis, Rothwell or Dack (if you'd class him as a midfielder). They wont pay for a Dack, so potentially one of the other two. Your hunch better be wrong.
  20. Good shout actually, almost forgot about him. Doubt its him though, versatile like you say and they made a big thing of him convincing Johnson to sign as they'd played together int he past.. They'd look a bit daft to then sell his mate.
  21. You make a few good points but come on, calling TM thick and lacks intelligence is a bit far.
  22. Would be managerial suicide - could you imagine this place if that happened?
  23. With Travis, Johnson, potentially Adam and then Davenport, you have a good four there for the central spots. Good mix of youth and experience. Evans and Smallwood dont get near it for me. Neither would be missed really.
  24. With our defence me and my mates could draw 4-4 let alone a team of trialists.
  25. If he really is the one linked to Rangers, it would be obvious that he is wanted off the books. I doubt its them coming to us inquiring, more like we would offer them a cut price deal to take him. I think we would definitely take as little as 500k for him if it meant his wages off the book. For 1,5 million, Rangers can do much, much better.
