  1. Dunno, would surely depend on whether we have those other people in place such as the team he works alongside and the Head of Club Talent or whatnot.
  2. None of this bring him in so that Williams can be CB either. As well as he did at the end of the season, we still need a CB. CB and LB and ill stop bloody moaning.
  3. Being allowed to leave apparently. Of course, former club Preston are all over it. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/greg-cunningham-ready-quit-cardiff-16668539
  4. Much better than what we have at LB. That's not saying much though. he can play CB too - so right up TMs street ?
  5. Seems we just dont get the players over the line that we highlight as targets. Im sure they were convinced that we were nailed on for Bauer and didnt really have much of a plan B lined up as i guess the plan was always going to be him and a young loanee. Then the GK saga went on for ages where we obviously missed out on our main targets and again ended up with a loan. We heard names like Darlow, Hart, Carson, Adrian, Martinez, Forster and ended up with a kid the same age but less experienced than Raya despite apparently wanting a commanding and more experienced keeper.
  6. Cunningham at LB would be a start but its yet another loan. Get him on loan to buy so that we can get something solid at the back for the next few seasons. Going to be a patched up defense at this rate for just a single season.
  7. It's odd though, if it is indeed the Venkies that don't want us to sign big and ugly CB's due to a perceived lack of resale value, why are they then handing out contracts to 35 and 32 year old midfielders? Nothing really against those signings but we could quite easily have done similar at CB. Really think we just expected that Bauer was to sign for us and he felt that would be enough with a possible PL kid loan (Tosin).
  8. Dunno but I would seriously be on the phone with Martin Ollsson as a decent short stop at LB.
  9. Especially once Lenihan and Mulgrew both rock up with their inevitable injuries at some point.
  10. Was very cleverly kept under wraps. Burnley and WBA tried to scupper the deal at the last minute apparently.
  11. We could do with getting some out on loan. Cant see how Samuel will figure and should go somewhere for 6 months. Butterworth perhaps too. Evans could be handy as a bench player and Davenport too but I think Smallwood should be offloaded if at all possible. We just have too many bodies in the middle now.
  12. Like that team but I might switch out SG for BB. Think he deserved to start the other day after a promising preseason. Its funny that TM is usually slow to bring new players in the team but suddenly Gallacher is chosen over both our player of the season and BB in one fell swoop. BBs confidence could have been at a good level only to be knocked down again.
  13. Have to agree. There isn't that much to be scared of from anyone in this division. We showed that we can compete with them last season - we are just not helping ourselves by not strengthening our obvious weak points. Our defence and Raya cost us loads of points last season, points that shouldn't have been dropped - give those points back to us and we were not far away.
  14. Many of us have been saying it for two years and now four windows that our defense needs an overhaul. Our defense is primarily the one that got relegated from this league the last time around. January last season was obviously pivotal too as he opted once again against doing anything and actually made it weaker by letting Downing go on loan. Here we are six months later and still no change apart from a single loanee.
  15. Goes back to last season even...obvious we tried to get him then. Couldnt work a deal so the BB thing sprang up when it was obvious we had cash burning a hole in our pocket.
  16. An extra striker would have helped anyway - not another midfielder but yes, heaping that kind of pressure on to a kid that is still so inexperienced was not the right move. It actually seems that hsi substitutions were premeditated, that he decided before the game who he would be bringing on. No imagination or tactical nous.
  17. Think this is the first time fans from both sides of the coin are on his back. You cant go making such passionate statements like he did about defenders are coming, our defence is not good enough and then completely backtracking almost.
  18. Was completely the wrong situation to be bringing on Buckley but I do agree with you. Buckley should be brought on initially when we're coasting in games, not as the kid to tray and get us back in the game.
  19. Rooney confirmed to be joining Derby as player-coach in January. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11778561/wayne-rooney-to-join-derby-as-player-coach-in-january Was just recovering from a season of Lampards Derby too.
  20. Probably somewhere in the middle. We do have some great kids coming through so he should definitely be taking some of the credit for that.
  21. We were told we had a similar budget to last season. Would be typical Venkies if it has only just materialised a couple of days before the end of the window. Kinda feels like our business with Raya was done to give us some cash for Gallagher while the remaining signings were freebies. Might also explain why the loan took so long to complete if the money only came available at the end of last week - there will surely be a loan fee for Tosin.
