Jokanovic sacked by Sheffield united! Just goes to show there are no guarantees in this game. He was a few people’s choice (mine included) to replace TM when the rumour mill was at its height. Sometimes be careful what you wish for- it may come back to bite you
Jokanavic is a famous slow starter. It takes a while for his idea and style of play to be implemented. Just look at his jobs at Watford and Fulham. Would take him over TM in a heartbeat

Rothwell shouldn’t be starting so call me crazy. Two reasons:
1) Players who started last game deserve to keep the shirt.
2) Whilst he’s not signed a contract extension, we should be planning for future without him.
He’s criminally underrated by this board. By far the best midfielder we have at the club.
While normally I would agree with the 2nd point Rothwell has clearly never become distracted this season - his work ethic has been incredible and he clearly cares and want to win.
While I like davenport 2 holding midfielders against a poor Bristol city team is overkill.

Anyone who doesn’t think Rothwell should be starting is crazy.
Kaminski
Nyambe Lenihan Ayala Pickering
rowthwell Travis Buckley
Poveda brereton Khadra

I was told similar a few weeks ago. Nyambe and Rothwell want out (agent lead); Lenihan was expected to sign but in the last 6 weeks he has changed and wants out. Rovers are determined to let them go in January so we are able to get some income from them.
I’ll be shocked if Nymabe and Rothwell sign - the writing has been on the wall for a while.
Always thought Lenihan would resign mainly because I don’t think he is that great. Wouldn’t be distraught if he left but would need replacing.
Nymabe and Rothwell are more important players imo.

Poveda was magical. I thought he was useless until today - now I’d like us to get him on a permanent deal!

Surely this game represents the best opportunity for our fanbase to state their feelings towards Mowbray. Low tickets cost, a landmark club game, and importantly off the back off a 7nil defeat.
If Venkys were going to listen to us at any point it would be now and with an international break the perfect opportunity to bring someone new in they may just bite the bullet.
We need to make a stand!!! I am at the point where I no longer possess feelings if we win or lose. There is 0 faith in the hierarchy.

I think if we lose against Sheffield then there’s a decent chance he gets the sack

Tbf if Sheffield United can batter us on Saturday they might bite the billet and sack him with an international break to get a new manager in

I’d fancy us to get a result with a full team but with Gallagher, Ayala and Nyambe missing it’s going to be a struggle.
Agree with this. Without Nymabe and Gallagher in particular (I actually really rate van heck) don’t think we have a chance.
however anything can happen and they arnt as unbeatable as you might think.

Good post but I can't see Johnson getting dropped.
If Gallagher's carrying a knock can see Khadra coming in, but could be any of him, Poveda or Butterworth. Or even McBride. Don't think Tony (or the supporters) are that convinced by any of them.
Your not wrong on Johnson and Tbf I may be being harsh considering he has contributed to two wins from two. I just feel like he is a liability and in a game where we are going to be doing a lot chasing we could do with Davenports fresh legs - I also feel like he is better at playing the simple passes

Lots on injuries going into this game - makes it even more of a free hit than it already was. My team:
kaminski
bucko - lenihan - van heck - edun
travis - davenport - rothwell
khadra - dolan - diaz
No need to over complicate it here. They are better. They will have the ball. We will have to drop deep. But aslong as we have outlets then we’ll be able to hurt this Fulham side - we have the ability to hit them on the break.
My house mate has a season ticket and I often go with his spare so I have seen Fulham a lot this season. So a couple of notes.
- give mitro half a chance and he will take it. However he’s likely to miss the blatant 1v1s where he has to think about it.- Their fullbacks are good athletically but on the ball they are actually poor in terms of delivery.
- If carvolho is on the bench then it’s a big plus - he is there best player outside of mitro and is still working his way back to full fitness.
- without tosin they will be suspect at the back.
- seri will control the game even if we stick two players on him!they are a very good side however certainly not unbeatable.

On top of this there’s been mentions of wilder attending our last couple of games.

There’s quite a few rumours on Twitter that TM will be gone by next international break. Was wondering if anyone on this forum had heard anything?
Find it so depressing when I can’t even get excited about a win due to a complete lack of faith in the manager. Change is needed!

Last bit on Rothwell, but maybe he has Dack coming back in his mind and feels he will be out the team again.
Imo Rothwell is hands down our best player - the best player I’ve seen at Ewood for quite a while. We will seriously miss him when he’s gone.

Same, I can only see coach tickets available?
I know - very confused as can’t see that we’ve sold out

I live in London and am currently trying to buy tickets for this however I can only find Tickets that include bus/travel fees on the site. I am sure I am just being dumb but where can I just find the match tickets ?

Why did we loan out pike…
-
Coventry 4-1 up against Fulham … will be an interesting game against them after the international break
-
2 of the best goals we’ve scored this season. Followed up by the worst - total comedy tho. Dreamland!!!

A good start to the season. Some strong performances. Just outside the playoffs. A good run of fixtures approaching. Only means one thing. Nose bleed. I expect to be left frustrated today by a missed opportunity but will forever be hopeful.
If we’re going off the idea that Khadra isn’t fully fit then this has to be the team today.
kaminski
nymabe Lenihan ayala Pickering
travis rothwell
dolan butterworth Poveda
Diaz
subs: Pears, magloire, Edun, Buckley, davenport, Khadra, JRC(fit?).

I’m Ngl I would actually really like Burke. Strong, quick. Played up top for Sheffield United last season and actually impressed. Not interested if it’s a loan tho

This is going to be disappointing isn’t it…

It’s interesting that noises out of the club are positive that a deal for a striker will be reached but there’s literally no names currently floating about.

January Transfer window 2022
in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Posted
Thought there was going to be some interesting transfer news for a second… no need to argue over a players height.
Don’t know much about Souttar, however I’m also sceptical about players from Scotland adapting to the championship.
Either way, I would keep Lenihan this window - aswell as Rothwell. Our midfield 3 of Buckley, Travis, Rothwell is very well balanced with real quality, the best we’ve had in years. It won’t be easy to replace that if Rothwell goes, especially in January. The same goes for Lenihan with Ayala and Wharton.
Nymabe is the one who I wouldn’t be too fussed about, especially if he isn’t going to resign. Don’t get me wrong, I love him as a player and think he has great potential under a half decent manager. However his fit in this current team is questionable, he lacks the forward capabilities to play as a wing back. JRC imo is actually perfect for that role, he has never let us down when available and gets a lot of unnecessary stick on here. He’s injury prone and that’s an issue, and there’s alot of questions about his best position, but in my eyes RWB is built for him.
With the championship as poor as it ever has been it’s certainly a year to gamble on promotion (aslong as the club isn’t risking its future).
If we are to strengthen anywhere in January it should be depth for ball carrying midfielders and RB/RWB if Nymabe goes. Across gally reda Diaz dolan and Dack we have enough cover across the forward areas imo. However would love a look at Reda on a perm deal.
