He only has a year left on his deal though. If Brighton don't plan on using him this season then surely he will be sold.He was immense for us last season but at the moment I wouldn't expect his next move to be a premier league club so I wouldn't totally rule it out if we were prepared to pay the fee for him ,according to reports he is only on 4k a week

Also Sharpe has mentioned today that there’s a decent chance he gets loaned out later in the window - however unsure if Blackburn come into that

Edun is another Bell at left back i'd never pick him over Pickering there's too many short memories knocking around.

It would be nice if we could find a proper lwb from somewhere, they are out there, Giles was a good one he just wasn't used there. If we truly want to improve we don't go back to playing midfielders as full backs.

Edun will come good this season. Never got a proper run of games in his natural position - give him that and I’m certain he’ll impress

  3. There is no doubt that our lack of business is worrying - however it’s far from panic time yet.

The reality is this season is and was always going to be a period of transition - I only feel we can properly judge JDT on next season. There are a lot of poor teams in the league this season - Blackpool, Rotherham, Reading, Cardiff, Birmingham etc etc. I don’t feel we are in too much risk of being relegated. We certainly won’t be going up.

With players such as Vale, Wharton, Garrett and Phillips and Carter very much look apart of the first team picture this season I only really feel we need 3-4 quality signings to keep us on track for where we need to be to challenge next season. A RB, CB, and a CM need to be the priority with an attacker with pace being a bonus. Blood the youngsters through this season and set them up for a quality campaign, where JDT has had enough time to get across his principle of plays and then we have can have a proper go at it.

    GK: Kaminski, Eastman, Pears

Full backs: NEW (RB), Brown, Pickering, Edun, JRC

CB: NEW, Wharton, Carter, Phillips, Ayala

CM: Travis, Buckley, Dack, New, Wharton, Garrett

    Wingers: Markandy, Dolan, Diaz, Hedges

    Strikers: Gally, Vale

Not the strongest of squads but by no means terrible and should be enough to keep us mid table. Aslong as the signings brought it we’re of starting 11 standard I’d be pretty content with that. Perhaps a little leight upfront but Dolan and Diaz can both play up there.

JDT is STILL hoping to sign the bearded Wonder from Malmo …. Malmo trying to offer him a new contract but Berget is adamant for one last dance …

Scored Yesterday and had an Assist ….See if the money men will allow the manager a 31 going on 32 to take on board …

    Bearded Wonder !

I just can’t see us getting value in this… esp it Malmö are going to force a decent fee.

I think it's a sign that we're looking for players who we need for the starting XI. I can understand the need for squad fillers and that tired term "helping the group", but maybe we're now looking at our academy to do the squad filling (and they'll get their chance), and looking at fewer but better quality signings in the transfer market. I like the idea of that if that's the case.

100%. I would much rather us sign 4 quality players who improve our starting 11 that 6/7 that provide us with squad depth. The talent in our academy should be more than enough to fill up the squad, with players such as Garret, Phillips, Wharton and Vale all good enough imo to have a bit-part impact.

Priorities for me have to be:

    1 RB:

Cody Drameh (1m) - young full back from leeds impressed on loan at cardiff last season and is available

Josh Key (500k) - another young promising player who has been proven in the lower leagues. Was linked in jan.

    1 CB:

Ahmedhodvic (loan to buy/3m) - would be top tier signing

Phil jones - Blackburn lad and great experience. Can we keep him fit?

Van Hecke - could become available on loan later on in the Window

    2 CM:

Brannagn (1m) - 14 goals at Oxford last season. Box to box

Camara (500k) - Powerhouse midfielder, impressed at Plymouth last season

Jason Knight (1m) - Very Solid championship midfielder

    1 Forward/Winger:

Dembele (loan) - can’t see Bournemouth using him much next season

Khadra (loan/1m) - has a very high ceiling imo

Obvisously it looks a different picture if Diaz was the go but business on that sort of line would put us in good shape I reckon
