Does anyone know a good place to park up at Sunderland?

There’s a big Tesco 2 mins away with a big car park. Don’t know the time you can stay but I’ve never seen anyone check but it’s also used by PureGym members so not sure how they would police it

Big Car park at the metro near Tesco also not sure on times as I usually use the train. Hope that helps

  2. Play to your strength that is the mantra of any winner. We have Diaz get it to him. We are organised in defence but we can’t play the ball out from there because in the words of cantona our defenders are water carriers.
Let’s call a halt to that nonsense it’s absolutely undoing any good work we do.

In relation to yesterday my anger has subsided in embarrassment. If you can win with the skill game  then win the determination one. No matter what slant you put on it yesterday was shameful.

The after match manager comments seem to show a complete lack of understanding the gravity of that debacle. I think it was Tyrone that said if it was snakes and ladders he just gone down the biggest snake.
Respect is hard to earn and easy to lose and yesterday is hard to stomach it was a nightmare and our leader shoulders a lot of that responsibility no matter how he paints it

    Yes.

I have just had another look at the table as we go in to the World Cup break. Of the top 5 teams we are the only one that are not in receipt of parachute payments from the Premier League, three of the other four receiving £55m and one I think £33m compared with our £8m - £9m from TV rights. The manager has done a brilliant job putting us where we are - and the idea that he might be chased out of the club because of one disappointing day or not giving some absurd "apology" horrifies me.

It’s not about league position or money it’s about attitude and ours stank. That is from top to bottom lazy and half arsed would some it up. Tactically naive and not even able to learn from others experience. Thomason has today not covered himself in glory. Didn’t understand the magnitude of the game kompany did. Played a mad arse formation with sudden new inclusion he even left out the guys who understood what it meant.
    mola instead of Wharton???????
    no young wharton??????

Experimental at the least what a complete arse he’s been today. He feels for the fans well he needs to wipe that smirk off his face because today we have been totally let down

they are lucky that it’s this era.I remember during a promotion push in the late seventies early eighties we lost at Oldham and the supporters waited outside for them. They had to rum to the coach. That might help them focus on the return match

A very sensible post in a sea of alarmism and borderline shameful cringeworthy hammering of JDT.

We're 3rd in the league with a very average group of players and probably the youngest squad.

He got it wrong today but that's always easy to identify in hindsight and we really didn't look that threatened until Gally went off injured.

Burnley have a far more talented group of players than we do at present. The bookies had us 4/1 against and they're not often wildly wrong.

    A bit of perspective eh.

They do not they  are made up of journey men pros. Loanees and buts from Belgium. Our defeat was based on our total ineptitude not their ability. Let’s make sure that is understood. They are not great it’s we are ours poor. Our manager today was shite and it’s not the first time. He said he plans meticulously then kick it long and get in their face. They can’t cope with it

“ Disappointed “ is that it ? Some of us won’t sleep tonight after that no show. If they had any feelings for the club and its fans at all there would be a written apology in tomorrows paper signed by every person involved in todays “ game “. Starting with the manager.

But they don’t care. They haven’t since Jacks death. No one has. That’s why we are where we are in debt, a manager who believes his brief is to add value to the squad with promotion being a optional extra. High season ticket sales, the old waggot tax for walk ons. Managers that under perform get to stay Keane bowyer Mowbray. Players who haven’t cared Orr Murphy.

It is what it is but today was ignorance by the manager it didn’t even take a tactical genius to work out punt it long but not our guy persist with the suicidal play from the back.

He must be the thickest guy in denmark

Couldn’t care we’re we are in the league, this manager doesn’t represent this club , to drop two Blackburn lads for Mola and Garrett is laughable. Do you think Ashley Barnes would of seen a ball against Wharton!! Sack him now!! Start again in. January. They aren’t fit to represent this town league position means

DO NOT FORGET THIS BECAUSE OF THE SHAM OF THE WORLD CUP. BOO EVERYMAN ON THE RETURN TO EWOOD

That’s funny in the context of I’ve been so angry since the game I’m apparently spoiling sunday tea. My daughter offered to drive me to ewood to vent my feelings when the team returned.

im currently sat outside with my coat on

    Minis v Ferraris

One team spent over £20m in the summer, one team spent just over £4m.

You get what you pay for in this league and it showed again today.

No Gav that’s not true. The gap between can be breached with belief effort and commitment. They are not city there not even Fulham. We let ourselves down completely it was embarrassing

We didn’t even learn from Crawley Sheff or Rotherham.

Believe it or not, there is at least one Rovers fan who is looking at the league table with us in third place, the Carabao Cup draw for the fourth round with us in it, who is not in the least bit "angry".

Really you are joking aren’t you. If that’s true then you have know idea whatsoever of how important dealing with them is. If you don’t feel the absolute devastation of that  loss and it’s manner then you don’t understand what being a rovers supporter is. It’s not about league position or cups it’s ten times more important than that. It’s about showing up, not backing down , putting your heart into it. All the things we just surrendered. I don’t care if we lost 3 against Cardiff Wigan or reading that’s football but not there and not that way

  9. I must be honest I’m 63 and I can’t recall a performance against them as bad as that. They may have a few better players than us but not by much. The difference is not a gap that couldn’t be matched by effort and commitment.

If they go up they’ll come straight back down because if you get in their face they are defensively frail. Why we didn’t god only knows

it was mowbrayesque in the surrender but I suppose when you play a big club like Burnley  what can you expect it’s not 1995

So so predictable - and sackable in its own right imo - meticulous in his prep apparently ..yeah right  - a fookin derby and they give arguably one of the worst performances ever in a derby that I have seen  - all evidence was there on how to get at them from the last couple of weeks and exactly what we shouldn't do   as in the pissing about with the ball at the back - Christ teams have gone there recently and given them a game - even Crawley - so much for knowing exactly what it was about and done by cart horse Barnes who the bunleh fans said was next to useless... Absolute bollux and again  sackable in its own right which ain't no knee jerk but many will disagree ... Today this is more than a disappointment or setback they are an embarrassment especially for the fans at the game ..no excuses

And apparently the reason we do all that shit at the back is to increase player value so we can sell them. I’m feel sick with that performance. Even when we beat Burnley they put it in passion commitment aggression. Nothing absolutely empty. If they new what it meant where was the effort. Just shameful

  11. It is a real difficult watch but we’re second and it’s a built team not a bought one. If you have nothing to work with  other than cheap buys and kids discipline and organisation is not a bad starting point.
The old cry of defenders are coming is now there here• Nothing wrong in building from the back and  being organised and I never feel like we’ll surrender a lead. It has come at a price in terms of entertainment and the ability to adjust when we go behind.

I much prefer  to go into Sunday with the above  than under the previous regimes philosophy.
Can we win yes. I’m excited already and there’s a week to go.

Looks good to me, I'd have Hedges and Brereton slightly further forward like a 4-3-1-2 and allow Dack to roam.

Not going to happen though is it.

It’s not I agree. He will persist with the idea that we can languidly tap the ball around attempting to make the other team lose concentration through boredom. If he can’t find room for Dack amongst the dross we have then it really is blinkered. Great managers recognise their errors and adapt. Prepare for more of the same.  For me Dack on the pitch with a licence to roam.

  13. I’ve waited for a decent number of games before commenting. I really can’t see what where trying to accomplish. It’s laboured, we don’t press the ball every pass is backwards, we don’t make teams commit players we miss place passes, players run one way and the ball goes the other. Do they not know each other or just meet on game night.

I’m not bothered what smzodic did Saturday he is league one at best and he can take Hirst with him.
im aware of the league position and my only question is how because it is worse than some of the shit dished up by Mowbray

    It is total crap

  14. I’ve waited to post after yesterday but we appear tactically inept. That midfield should have been shored up after 20 mins without that we can’t grab hold of the game defensively or going foward. Travis is in midfield this right back nonsense needs to stop.

It was overall poor and to a degree worse than Sheff which I’d thought I’d never say. Defending well in this league is a first priority more than press more than possession and we aren’t doing that.

Monday when Thomason arrives at the ground he needs to think how do I stop teams scoring after that we have a chance. Don’t deal with that and we have problems

  15. Was it £12 million up front or was that the total after add ons. We are losing whatever we paid for him up front which I doubt was £7 million. The money to Venkies is probably a drop in the ocean and they do not give ground on a valuation.  I much happier thinking we lost say £4 million and keep him for the rest of the season. We are far better with him than without him and I want a crack at the top 6 and promotion rather than money in the bank. Particularly when our owners can afford it

It's as if we've been crap all of 2022.

    Wait a minute, we have!

We've carried last season's poor form into this one and I do worry that the management team's lack of EFL nous may cost us dearly in the weeks and months ahead.

On the other hand we will have some new and returning players to call on.

I doubt anyone can call this season, but I will be very surprised if we aren't around the bottom battling for points.

This is I agree with completely. Sheff Utd was in the same category as Peterborough away and Coventry away. There is something wrong. Maybe it’s character

Is Broughton on record saying that?

We are almost toothless and lack creativity throughout our midfield.

I am starting to feel sorry for JDT having this fool as his DoF.

His only experience is at academy level, the rest he is learning on the job. A recipe for failure in football

I’m not. His formation at reading was wrong. His first half formation today invited pressure. He’s making mistakes because he’s relatively inexperienced, He also struggles to make decisive changes. He’s also burden by half a squad and those above unwilling to buy the right players

    Will resign before Christmas.

    Thats my guess

  18. I’ll say one thing on. I want to stay silent Greg.

sammi fucking smzodic. That is what he as scouted. Worse the guy in the dug out is playing him before Dack.

    These are my observations

He’s no more athletic than dack

    He’s no taller than dack

    his closing down is shite

His positional sense is worse than Dack

His first touch on the ball is worse than my granny

His vision not in the same world as dack

    Arrival in the box( timing)

    bringing others into play

    Goal scoring potential

All that and the manager plays him. It’s just not right.
Its all just crazy stuff. Phillips may be a top player but not now.

It is anarchic and has been since February.
There no control or order everything is tomorrow a journey. It’s because delivery today is impossible. Don’t buy quality buy cheap

Ps I’m fucked of with it tonight
